When Amitabh Bachchan teased Anushka Sharma over Virat Kohli's flying kisses on cricket grounds: Here's how she reacted
and
Virat Kohli
are one of the most loved celebrity couples in India. Though they kept their relationship quiet in the beginning, once they tied the knot, they never shied away from showing affection for each other in public.
One of the most adorable moments between them happens on the cricket ground. Every time Virat scores a century, he blows a flying kiss towards Anushka in the stands.
But did you know that this sweet tradition once became the subject of a light-hearted tease on television? It happened on none other than 'Kaun Banega Crorepati', where
Amitabh Bachchan
himself pulled Anushka's leg in front of a live audience.
When Anushka came to 'KBC'
A few years ago, Anushka had joined Big B's popular quiz show 'Kaun Banega Crorepati' to promote her film 'Sui Dhaaga' along with
Varun Dhawan
. While there, she also sat beside a participant on the hot seat.
That was when the fun began.
The 'Zanjeer' actor casually asked the contestant if she watches cricket on television. She replied that she does not. Amitabh then pointed out with a smile that Anushka certainly does.
Anushka explained why she watches cricket
The contestant looked a little puzzled by his remark. To clear the confusion, Anushka jumped in and said that her husband is a cricketer and that she watches cricket for him. That is when Amitabh decided to tease her.
He asked cheekily, 'Kewal unko dekhne ke kiye (Just for him)?' The 'Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi' actress quickly corrected herself, adding that she also watches to support the team.
Amitabh mimicked Virat's flying kiss
Not letting the fun stop there, the 'Sholay' actor went on to tease her further. He said everyone knows what happens on television and then, to the surprise of all, blew a kiss to the camera. The gesture was a clear imitation of Virat's famous flying kiss celebration on the field.
The moment had everyone in splits. Anushka burst out laughing, the audience clapped and laughed, and Varun Dhawan could not control himself either. He was seen rolling with laughter as Amitabh pulled off the playful act perfectly.
Virat and Anushka's wedding and children
Anushka and Virat took their relationship to the next step when they tied the knot in a dreamy ceremony in December 2017. The much-talked-about wedding was followed by more happy news. The couple was blessed with their daughter Vamika in January 2021, and later, they welcomed their son Akaay in February 2024.
Their life as parents has been filled with love and joy, and they have always tried to keep their children away from the media glare.
Couple enjoys family time in London
Currently, Anushka and Virat are in London, where they are spending some private family time together. Videos recently surfaced on social media, showing the couple enjoying a sunny day out. Interestingly, they were spotted without their children Vamika and Akaay during this outing. In the clip, the two could be seen going about their day casually, interacting warmly with local residents and enjoying a relaxed moment away from their otherwise busy lives.

'Sholay' box office: The Amitabh Bachchan, Dharmendra film ran in 28 theatres for 50 weeks, collected Rs 15 crore, here's why it remains 'India's biggest blockbuster' till date
The iconic 'Sholay' starring Dharmendra , Amitabh Bachchan , Jaya Bachchan , Hema Malini , Sanjeev Kumar , Amjad Khan among others is considered the greatest ever Indian movie. The film recently completed 50 years on August 15 and is still remembered over the years. While it may be enjoyed and loved, become a part of popular culture and even meme material for the Gen Z today. While the movie may be a cult, it even was a blockbuster at the box office and here's why the film continues to remain so over the years, despite the fact that today we have movies which makes Rs 500 crore and more at the box office. While the numbers today are sometimes, manufactured and the ticket prices are also so high, the success of 'Sholay' was unshakable and way ahead of its time. When the film released, people actually thought it will be a huge flop, also because Bachchan dies in the end and the makers also considered changing the climax. But it picked up and how. According to Box office India, the real turning point came a week later, on 21st August 1975, when Sholay opened in East Punjab. The response there was electric, confirming that Delhi/UP, Bihar, and Central India would follow the same trend. By October 3, when it opened in those regions, the film's blockbuster status was sealed. What followed was unprecedented. Sholay ran for 50 consecutive weeks (Golden Jubilee) in 28 cinemas across the country. To put that into perspective—back then, even a 25-week run (Silver Jubilee) in 10 cinemas was enough to declare a film a blockbuster. Not only did Sholay dominate in its first year, but it also continued pulling audiences for nearly two decades in repeat runs, until satellite television and multiplexes gradually changed viewing habits. Over time, the film's lifetime theatrical business grew to nearly three times its original year-one earnings. The film was directed by Ramesh Sippy and written by the legendary duo of Salim-Javed ( Salim Khan , Javed Akhtar). In an old interview with Rajeev Masand, Salim Khan had said, "That time the maximum business was done by 'Haathi Mere Saathi', which was Rs 90 lakhs per territory. So, we just went ahead and added about Rs 10 lakhs and said, Sholay will do more than Rs 1 crore in each territory. People started laughing, making fun of us and they thought Rs 1 crore yeh all India ka total business hoga. But we went wrong and terribly wrong as the film actually made more than that. It made Rs 2-3 crore per territory." 'Sholay' was made under a budget of Rs 3 crore and went on to earn Rs 15 crore that time in that year. As per today's inflated prices, 50 years later, the collection would be considered much higher. Fifty years on, the title of 'India's biggest blockbuster' still belongs to it, and very likely, always will.
