Manisha Rani's Bold Take On Follower-Based Casting: ‘Acting Main Dam…'
Manisha Rani is all set to feature in Ravi Dubey and Sargun Mehta's next project, Haal-E-Dil.
Manisha Rani, known for her stint on reality TV shows like Bigg Boss OTT Season 2 and Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 11, is set to take a significant step in her career. The social media star is gearing up for Ravi Dubey and Sargun Mehta's upcoming show Haale Dil. She sparked a debate when asked about influencers being cast based on their social media following, reacting to the industry's trend.
In a recent interview with Telly Chakkar, Manisha said, 'I don't think so, mujhe lagta hai ki agar koi influencer ko le bhi le followers ke dum pe, lekin agar uski acting main dam hi nhi rahega to use kaam hi nhi milega (I don't think so, I feel that even if someone casts an influencer based on their followers, but if they don't have acting skills, then they will not get any work)."
'And influencer bhi aj ek nhi hai hazaro hai, agar unme se kisi ko acting ka offer mil raha hai to usme kuch talent hoga (Today, there is not just one influencer; there are thousands of them. If a few of them are getting an offer for acting, then they must have some talent)," she added.

To feed its predators, Danish zoo asks pet owners to donate rabbits, horses
A zoo in Denmark has appealed to the public to donate their healthy unwanted pets to be 'gently euthanised' in a unique effort to provide food for their predators. Aalborg Zoo has requested the owners of chicken, rabbit and guinea pig to donate their respective pets in order to be eaten by the animals as whole, including European lynx. The zoo said the pets will be 'gently euthanised' by trained staff and that the zoo will accept donations of live horses and the owners would benefit from a potential tax break. Though horses donated to the zoo must have a horse passport and the opportunity for tax deduction on the horse's value would be calculated based on the horse's weight. The zoo informed in a post on Instagram that chicken, guinea pig and rabbit make up a significant portion of the diet of predators, especially the European lynx which needs whole prey that resembles to the one it would naturally hunt in the wild. The zoo said that 'nothing goes to waste'. A post shared by Aalborg Zoo (@aalborgzoo) In the Instagram post, alongside a picture of a lynx, the Aalborg Zoo said 'If you have a healthy animal that needs to be put down for various reasons, you are welcome to donate it to us. The animals are gently euthanised by trained staff and then used as food. That way, nothing goes to waste and we ensure natural behaviour, nutrition and wellbeing of our predators.' Other than European lynx, the predators kept at the zoo include lions and tigers. The social media post by the Aalborg Zoo has gained a wide range of reactions, with some criticizing the appeal. A comment on the zoo's appeal said 'sick invention'. Deputy director of Aalborg Zoo, Pia Nielsen, said 'For many years at Aalborg Zoo, we have fed our carnivores with smaller livestock. When keeping carnivores, it is necessary to provide them with meat, preferably with fur, bones etc. Therefore, it makes sense to allow animals that need to be euthanised for various reasons to be of use in this way,' reported The Guardian. Dhadak 2 box office collection Day 4: Janhvi Kapoor's debut made three times as much as Tripti Dimri-Siddhant Chaturvedi's sequel in the same time frame
Dhadak 2 box office collection Day 4: Despite receiving good reviews from critics, Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri's new film, Dhadak 2, is failing to maintain momentum at the box office. After an underwhelming opening on Friday, the film saw a minor increase in collections over the weekend. However, it failed to pass the Monday litmus test, dropping by over 66 percent. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film minted Rs 3.5 crore on Friday and witnessed a 7% and 10% increase on Saturday and Sunday, respectively — earning Rs 3.75 crore and Rs 4.15 crore. On Monday, the film saw a steep fall of 66%, earning only Rs 1.4 crore. This brings Dhadak 2's total domestic collection to Rs 12.8 crore. On Monday, the film registered a very low 14.26% Hindi occupancy. Major cities like Mumbai, Bengaluru, and the NCR — which also have the maximum number of screens — recorded low occupancy of around 15%. Dhadak 2 was released in theatres alongside Ajay Devgn and Mrunal Thakur's Son of Sardaar 2. Despite receiving mixed reviews from critics, the film has managed to perform decently and has earned Rs 27.25 crore within four days of release — more than double the Rs 12.8 crore earned by Dhadak 2 in the same time frame. Co-produced by Karan Johar, Dhadak 2 is the spiritual sequel to the 2018 film Dhadak, which marked the Bollywood debut of Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter. The Siddhant and Triptii-starrer has lagged behind its predecessor. Within four days of its release, Dhadak had managed to mint Rs 39.19 crore — three times the amount Dhadak 2 has earned in the same duration. Mohit Suri's surprise blockbuster Saiyaara, now in its third weekend, is still managing to give stiff competition to new releases. On its third Monday, Saiyaara earned Rs 2.5 crore — higher than Dhadak 2's Monday figure of Rs 1.4 crore. Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap recently took to Instagram to hail the film. He compared it to the cinema created by stalwarts like Raj Kapoor, Guru Dutt, Yash Chopra, and others, calling it 'a punch in the gut.' A part of his post read, 'The film captures the conversation that we avoid on a day to day basis. This is what mainstream cinema was meant to be, and this is what great filmmakers like Raj Kapoor, Bimal Roy, Guru Dutt, K A Abbas, B R Chopra, Yash Chopra and so many used to do. We forgot to make mainstream films of social relevance. They got relegated to independent art house cinema.'
