'Slap in the face': Springbok Women game tickets cost just R20
Like their male counterparts, the female national rugby squad are playing several test matches around the country.
The shock revelation comes as many rugby fans have expressed their frustration at the exorbitant stadium prices for watching the Boks play on home ground.
The female Boks – who will star in the Women's Rugby World Cup next month – will take on Canada Women again this weekend at the Nelson Mandela Stadium. Their game comes hours before the Springboks play Italy at the same venue.
On social media, rugby fans have shared a comparison between the prices of Springboks and the Springbok Women's upcoming game ticket prices.
In several clips, fans posted screenshots of ticket prices to watch the women's team take on their New Zealand rivals, the Black Ferns, on 26 July and 2 August at the Athlone Stadium in Cape Town.
While the lowest ticket price to watch the national squad is typically priced anywhere between R400 and R800, and with limited quantities, access to the female side's upcoming game is a mere R20.
TikToker @ironmaiden_999 posted: 'Not even R50. We are doing our women dirty'.
@itsenhlee agreed: 'The disrespect compared to the men'. @leilaniminnaar_ , who added: 'Compared to the prices of the men's games. This is a slap in the face if you ask me.'
Others claimed the women and men did not play on level fields for various reasons…
@snazonjapha: 'Women's sport is not given the same support. It's high time they recognised that women in sport are just as valuable as men'.
@user7million_: 'It's a law of supply and demand, low demand, high supply = low prices'
@mel_.gsy: 'It's the fault of the government being unwilling to financially promote them the way they do the men's. If they had more funding, more support, I'm sure they could make something great of themselves.'
While the Boks women are undoubtedly not as popular as the Springboks, the latter's captain Siya Kolisi has repeatedly shown his love and support to them.
He said in an Instagram post: 'As you support the men's team, support the women too. Let's get stronger together behind our women's team'.

This is how The Citizen rated the performance of the Springbok players on Saturday, out of 10. Willie le Roux 6: The newest member of the Bok 100-Test club delivered an erratic performance. He made a few basic errors, but also made the kick for Edwill van der Merwe's second try. Left the action in the 56th minute. Edwill van der Merwe 8: He scored two tries, both of them excellently taken. He made some good runs in attacking play, chased the high kicks well and was busy throughout the match. Canan Moodie 6: He scored a wonderful try after a powerful run in the midfield, made some good tackles and also contributed in other defensive efforts. He made several carries, and tackled strongly, he received kick-offs well and packed down at flanker because Jasper Wiese was red carded. Makazole Mapimpi 6: He didn't get too many chances, but he made a good pass to Grant Williams for the scrumhalf's try, he won a breakdown penalty, he chased kicks and also scored a try. Manie Libbok 7: He was solid in everything he did though he missed two early kicks at goal. In the end, his distribution was solid, his kicking out of hand was decent, and he slotted five conversions. He also did some cleaning up in defence. Grant Williams 8: A very satisfying outing by the scrumhalf. He scored a try after some excellent following up, and his line break and offload led to Moodie's try. He was busy around the rucks and fringes. Jasper Wiese 4: He was only on the field for 22 minutes before getting a red card for a head butt. In that time he made some good carries, tackled strongly and got involved in plenty of the action – maybe a little too much. Jasper Wiese received a red card early in the game. Picture: Richard Huggard/Gallo Images Pieter-Steph du Toit 6: In his first game back after a long injury layoff, he took some lineout ball, carried hard at times and put in some tackles, but it was not the vintage Du Toit we have come to know. Marco van Staden 6: He busied himself at the rucks and he got stuck in all over the field for a satisfying performance. He also got pinged at the breakdown on occasion. Left the action after 57 minutes. Ruan Nortje 8: He is the new Franco Mostert … always working hard and getting stuck in all over the field. He took lineout ball, cleaned rucks, carried over the gainline, tackled Italians … all in a hugely busy all-round performance. Salmaan Moerat 6: He knocked on badly on one occasion, and also gave away a penalty at a ruck. He won a few lineouts and carried well at times. He left the action after 56 minutes. Wilco Louw 7: The Bok scrum was dominant throughout the contest, without ever really getting their reward. He scrummed well and carried nicely at times, but he also picked up a yellow card for head contact. Malcolm Marx 8: His lineout throwing was again excellent, as it was the week before. He won a breakdown penalty, carried strongly and got stuck in. He also scored a try after some excellent general maul play in open play. Thomas du Toit 5: He was pinged early on for a few mis-timed early shoves by the Boks and battled to settle. He cleaned a few rucks and carried on occasion but was surprisingly taken out of the action in the 30th minute. Bench 7: It was a better showing than the week before, with Ox Nche making a big impact at scrum time when he joined the action for Louw. Jan-Hendrik Wessels missed a number of lineout throws, but was busy in general play and he scored a try at the end. Cobus Wiese and Evan Roos carried strongly and worked hard to keep the Boks on the front foot, while Asenathi Ntlabakanye did his bit in 20 minutes to help the Boks win the game. Among the backs replacements, Cobus Reinach kicked a bit much, while he pulled off two good tackles, and Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu and Ethan Hooker had few chances to do much in attack, but they helped ensure the Boks remained the dominant team until the end.

Back in business! MaMkhize heads up new soccer club
Shauwn Mkhize – also known as MaMkhize – has officially been named the president of the eSwatini soccer club, Mbabane Highlanders. This comes months after her South African team, Royal AM, was seized by SARS to pay off her R40 million debt. The club was later expelled from the PSL. The millionaire businesswoman has come under fire over her numerous clashes with the law, including tax evasion, fraud, forgery, and bribery. In a press release, Mbabane Highlanders, now named Mbalane Highlanders AM, confirmed that MaMkhize had become the club's president. In a video clip, MaMkhize revealed that she had added a 'touch of gold' and her signature 'AM', and that players of the eSwatini club would now wear black and gold. She said in a special welcome ceremony on Saturday, 12 July, of her new club allegiance: 'Today marks a new chapter, not a takeover but a partnership. A merging of histories between Eswatini and South Africa, rooted in shared ambition and excellence. 'Together, we will raise the standard, grow our talent, and bring this club the success it deserves. 'My promise is simple: I will lead with integrity, vision and heart. We're not here to participate, we're here to elevate'. Although the club has adopted many elements of the her Royal AM club, MaMkhize does not own the Swati counterpart. According to Sunday World, the businesswoman was given a three-year contract to manage the club. MaMkhize's deal with Mabalane Highlighers comes months after the bosses of fellow eSwatini club Moneni Pirates laughed off claims that she was their potential new owner. The reality TV star made headlines when she attended the club's Ingwenyama Cup final against Royal Leopards in Apil. Speaking to FARPost , Moneni Pirates president Thulani Xaba stated that he was unaware of any deal on the table. He said: 'I haven't spoken to or met her. There's nothing that has been spoken from my end to me…. I think it's just more mileage for her socials'. Xaba also shadily responded to MaMkhize's criminal allegations and implied that she was who they would wanted representing the club. ‘A silly moment from me': Jasper Wiese contrite but proud of brother Cobus

Picture: Richard Huggard/Gallo Images Brothers Jasper and Cobus Wiese struggled to find their words after becoming the 37th pair of brothers to play for the Springboks during South Africa's 45–0 victory over Italy in Gqeberha on Saturday. Cobus, 28, made his debut for the national side, coming on as a replacement at lock in the second half. The joy the pair felt at his achievement stood in stark contrast to the remorse Jasper exhibited. Wiese commends his team The loose forward received a permanent red card after head-butting an opponent in the 21st minute. It left the Springboks a man short for about an hour, though they still completely outplayed the Italians to secure a whitewash victory. It was an important win after the Springboks' 42–24 victory in the first Test against Italy at Loftus the week before left much to be desired. However, the pressure was still felt at times by the 14 men, and Jasper had to watch from the sidelines when his brother eventually took to the field at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium. 'I know I let the team down,' Jasper said. 'But well done to them for fighting that out. It's not easy playing with 14 guys and they showed some grit today. But ja, just a silly moment from me.' When asked about his brother's debut, Jasper, who is one year his senior, was at a loss for words for a moment. 'This is… I don't want to get too emotional, but it's special for me. It's a long time coming and I am really, really proud.' Cobus, likewise emotional, thanked God for his opportunity to play. 'It's a dream come true to say the least,' he said. 'An overwhelming sense of gratitude and pride is probably what sums it up the best.' Sacha says the Springboks ticked their boxes The sense of triumph felt by the Springboks and crowd in Gqeberha revealed just how important this one-sided win was after last week's frustrating game. Utility back Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu said the team had done especially well to man up in the breakdown battle, an area the Boks struggled in in Pretoria. 'We ticked that box. They ended with no tries, no points, so I think the coach will be happy with that,' Feinberg-Mngomezulu said. 'To go down [a man] and stick to our structures, that was phenomenal. I think Manie [libbok], Grant [Williams] and Cobus [Reinach] did a great job at that.'
