This Dramatic Hue Is the Color of Summer, According to a Survey
Pinterest predicted the color dill green would be huge for summer back in January when the site published its 2025 Pinterest Palette report. Described as 'pickled perfection in a color,' dill green has been on the rise thanks to users' interests in pickling and pickle decor, the earthy aesthetic of the Terra Futura trend (Pinterest predicted in 2024 that Boomers and Gen Xers will focus more on sustainability), and the overall reaching back into the early 2000s for inspiration (that '70s-inspired dill hue was big in the aughts).
With users searching for book clubs, garden parties, summer crafting, and other tech-free outdoor activities, dill green is fully on the map and making its way into home aesthetics. The shade can be a fun pop of color in a light and airy space, like this accent wall in the sunny Chicago rental seen above, which is painted with Backdrop's Lawn Party.
Or, when paired with other darker tones, it could shift moody like this small dill green nook in a glam London remodel. Farrow & Ball's Green Smoke (No. 47) adds so much drama to the other deep blue color in the room.
Dill olive pairs perfectly with aesthetics ranging from farmhouse and cottagecore to mid-century modern and even dark academia. It all depends on how you style it.
Pinterest users are also searching for the 'Martha Stewart aesthetic' right now, which is all about embracing 'garden-to-table cooking, flower gardens, and fresh summer recipes, channeling the iconic tastemaker's lifestyle,' as the Pinterest Summer Report reads. And nothing says fresh quite like the herby color of dill!
If you're searching for ways to bring the feeling of being in nature into your home this summer, give dill green a try. It's fresh and earthy, inspiring you to put the phone down and reconnect with Mother Earth, making it easy to do so while the weather allows. Scandi Bob Haircut Inspo Straight From Copenhagen Fashion Week
As far as 2025 goes, the bobs keep on coming and as a bob-having, trend-watching beauty director, I have so enjoyed watching more people become cut converts and embrace the versatile style. While a choppy bob has snuck back into the trends and the shaggy bob sees more Pinterest saves, for me, a blunt bob is the chicest haircut of them all. I cut a chin-grazing blunt bob back in September 2024 and I've never felt more confident. But as the story goes, my hair grew, and slowly the style morphed into a bit of a sad lob. So, you can only imagine how quickly I messaged my hairdresser for a brutal cut when I saw the bobs bobbin' up at Copenhagen Fashion Week. As I skimmed through the images, I noticed they all had the same thing in common: all the bobs spotted outside shows were blunt and mostly chin-grazing. While Scandi blonde highlights have been a key beauty trend that peaks every summer, the Scandi bob is a contender to stick around and transcend seasons. The key to the style is that it's cut blunt, but then styled into a natural texture, and never over-manipulated. It's a style that leans into the Scandinavian style and vibe; it's functional, laid-back, yet still incredibly cool and fashion-forward. The best part is that it makes your hair look voluminous by keeping it all one length. If you have thick hair or fine hair but lots of it (raises hand), it emphasises how full your hair is – so in my books it really does suit everybody. And pairing it with bangs? Yes please. Styling-wise, keep products pared all the way back. To enhance texture on fine hair, scrunch in a little bit of texture or salt spray (we love Oribe's iconic Texture Spray) while your hair is damp and either let it air dry or lightly diffuse. If you have thicker hair, a cream like the JVN Air Dry Cream will do the trick. Poker straight hair? Just a bit of light finishing oil will give hair a glossy shine.
