‘I swear by this skincare-infused skin tint for its coverage and bargain price'

Daily Mirror22-06-2025
Shopping Writer Meghan loves a good full-coverage foundation, but every summer she reaches for this skin tint that's lightweight without losing pigment - and it's super affordable
It's no secret that I'm a sworn Maybelline fan - when it comes to drugstore make-up, I'll rarely use anything else. That said, it took me ages to try the iconic Super Stay Skin Tint when it first released, because skin tints tend to drop the full coverage and lean more towards a light/medium finish.
While that is great for summer, as the serum-like formula makes it more lightweight and enhances natural features without clogging pores, I love a full-coverage foundation, and I didn't think a skin tint would be right for me. But after trying the Maybelline Super Stay Skin Tint last summer, I've never gone back.
Infused with skincare benefits, this skin tint perfectly balances the perks of a full-coverage foundation while remaining super light on the skin. It offers a natural finish that doesn't weigh your skin down in warmer temperatures and comes in 60 shades to suit nearly all skin tones. And the best part? You get all of that for £13.93.
My always-reached-for complexion product during the summer months is touted as a lightweight foundation infused with vitamin C for radiant, skin-like coverage. It promises up to 24-hour staying power and resists sweat, humidity, and wear-off, which is why it's my top pick for all summer occasions, whether that's days at work, late nights out, afternoons at the beach, and so much more.
With a thinner, serum-like consistency, this skin tint blends seamlessly whether you're using a brush or a beauty blender. Offering a luminous, soft-velvet finish, this skin tint could easily be left without powder for a glowing, healthy look - equally, the Maybelline Fit Me powder pairs well with the foundation, drying it down to reduce any unwanted shine without drying it out or causing cakeiness.
As for the staying power, I've found this skin tint definitely lives up to its 24-hour claims. Though I've had times where it's begun to shift around my nose (my problem area) or has smudged off around my mouth after eating, this has typically happened after many hours of wearing it, and usually only if the temperatures have been high, I've been particularly active, or if its gotten wet at some point during the day.
Otherwise, I've put this skin tint on first thing in the morning before work, back when I worked in hospitality, and would wear it through the duration of my 10 to 12-hour work day without the need for a top-up. There have been times I've worn the makeup all day, then worn it straight out to a bar or to the club, and fallen asleep with it on - definitely putting the 24-hour promise to the test. And when I've woken up, the make-up has looked good enough to walk straight out of the house without reapplying.
Formulated to deliver 24-hour wear, the skincare-infused foundation utilises vitamin C, which enriches the formula to illuminate the appearance of dull, lacklustre skin while delivering antioxidant protection, helping improve your complexion in the long run.
The only downside I have found, which is why I don't tend to wear this skin tint during the winter months, is while they offer a massive 60 shades that cater to all skin types and a range of undertones, I am naturally incredibly pale, and Maybelline's palest shade is still slightly too dark for me. It's perfect for the summer when I'm regularly tanned, but when I'm back to my natural skin colour in the colder months, the lightest shade isn't light enough. That said, I have mixed it with paler foundations before to still incorporate it into my base, and it blends seamlessly with all foundations I've paired it with.

Meghan Markle sends telling 'message' to royals with bold move in Netflix show

Meghan Markle has sent a subtle message to the Firm about her royal status with her daring wardrobe choice in the trailer for the second series of With Love, Meghan Meghan Markle has sent a subtle message to the Firm about her royal status with her bold wardrobe choices in the trailer for the upcoming second series of her Netflix show, according to a style expert. ‌ The Duchess of Sussex showed off her "quiet luxury" wardrobe of tailored staples in the trailer for With Love, Meghan as she cooked alongside a range of celebrity guests. ‌ While Meghan has long been known for her stunning wardrobe choices, a style expert believes her looks for the Netflix programme are sending a message to the royal family about how she feels about her royal role. It comes after Prince Harry's secret royal move speak volumes after 'peace talks' with top aides. ‌ California-based personal stylist, Cynthia Kennedy, said that Meghan's style on season two of her Netflix show is sending a clear message that she no longer needs to dress a certain way to fit with her role as Duchess. Instead, she says Meghan is dressing in a more down to earth, relaxed way that will resonate more with the viewers of her lifestyle programme. The stylist explained: "Her revamped style is sending everyone a message that I don't have to dress like a duchess anymore. I get to dress like myself, and be more approachable, modern, authentic and real." The stylist also described the different looks worn by the Duchess between season one and season two of Meghan's show. She explained: "Her choices feel deliberate and more like a conscious move toward comfort, vulnerability, relatability, and ease without losing that sense of polish that keeps her aspirational. It's a careful balance and I think she's hitting it." ‌ In season one, Cynthia observed that Meghan dressed in "put-together looks that were almost 'Duchess-lite', clean tailoring and muted neutrals", whereas in season two, her style felt "softer, relaxed, effortless, and more lived-in." The expert suggested: "It signals that she's not trying to perform 'royalty' anymore, but instead connect with people as a modern woman, wife, and mother." The upcoming second series of With Love, Meghan will once again feature the Duchess of Sussex welcoming friends and celebrities to a stunning California estate, where she imparts tips on cooking, gardening, and hosting. ‌ The celebrity line-up for the second series features model Chrissy Teigen, fashion guru Tan France, and acclaimed chefs including José Andrés, David Chang, Samin Nosrat, Clare Smyth and Christina Tosi. The second series comprises eight episodes, which will all be released on Netflix on August 26th at 8am for viewers tuning in from the UK.

Meghan Markle's brutal silence questioned as Harry leaves secret letter at royal event

Royal onlookers have noted Meghan Markle's ongoing silence amid her husband Prince Harry's recent troubles - despite continuing to promote her latest Netflix series Prince Harry is desperately trying to heal wounds with the royal family, but Meghan has stayed notably silent after his most recent olive branch. ‌ It has emerged that just days ago, the Duke left a secret letter at a royal event attended by King Charles and Queen Camilla. It is said that he asked a friend to discreetly leave a note and a wreath of red poppies at the Burma Star Memorial, to mark the national VJ Day commemorations. ‌ Notably, the letter was placed after Charles and Camilla left to avoid distracting from the service, which honoured the sacrifice of Second World War heroes who fought and died in the Pacific and Far East. ‌ Meanwhile, Meghan did not sign the letter. It's not the first time she's stayed quiet in recent weeks, as experts have questioned why she hasn't spoken out in support of her husband amid a 'devastating' boardroom battle. The Duke stepped down from Sentebale, the charity he founded to help children orphaned by Aids in Lesotho, earlier this year following a tense showdown with the chairwoman, Dr Sophie Chandauka. Harry was said to be devastated by the row, which saw all sides rebuked by the Charity Commission for allowing the war of words to play out so publicly. And many expected Meghan to publicly back Harry. But she has continued to hold her silence - and it's raised eyebrows amongst royal watchers. In her most recent Instagram post, Meghan pointedly continued to ignore the furore. The 44-year-old shared a video on Tuesday showing her preparing and plating up a lemon pasta spaghetti dish; prior to that, she shared a post promoting the upcoming second series of With Love Meghan. ‌ Expert Dr Tessa Dunlop told the Mirror: "Now that Meghan and Harry have signed a new Netflix deal ('looser' and apparently less lucrative than the previous $78m one but a deal nonetheless), might the Duchess find her voice? "Not the one she volubly uses to hawk As Ever wares (in conjunction with Netflix) but rather the voice Meghan famously re-found after leaving the Royal Family, the one that talked her truth to royal power and surely could talk her truth to the Sentebale fiasco? ‌ "No, really, why hasn't Meghan come out batting for Prince Harry in his latest round of verbal fisty-cuffs concerning his former African charity? After all, the Duke has consistently spoken out in support of his wife, establishing the precedent early on and against the wishes of his family when he condemned Britain's media coverage and insisted he had never before witnessed such a 'degree of pressure, scrutiny and harassment' from the press. "As it currently stands, Harry cuts a lonely figure. The Charity Commission 'identified a 'strong perception of ill treatment' swirling in the unhappy waters of his former charity, Sentebale. It was a terse ruling that exonerated no one; all parties remain incandescent, particularly the aggrieved prince, who insists the report has fallen 'troublingly short'. "In other words, the Duke of Sussex's nemesis, Dr Sophie Chanduka, is still at large, running Harry's former beloved Sentebale. The Duke could really do with some public TLC, especially from his wife, whose own issues with said Dr Chanduka were allegedly caught on camera at a polo match Sentebale fundraiser." It comes after Harry and Meghan confirmed they had extended their deal with Netflix, having signed a new "multi-year, first look deal for film and television projects". While the Duchess was quick to celebrate the signing, experts claimed that the deal is a downgrade for the couple.
