Two ex-officers remanded over conspiracy to falsify documents for dividend payout
SEREMBAN: Two former officers from a statutory body have been remanded for four days over allegations they conspired to submit falsified documents, to claim around RM180,000 in dividend payments between 2021 and 2023.
The suspects, a woman in her 30s and a man in his 40s, were detained separately in Perak and Terengganu on Tuesday between 11am and 3pm, following a month-long probe by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).
They were brought to the commission's Negri Sembilan office for questioning.
A source familiar with the case said the pair are believed to have channelled the funds into bank accounts belonging to their spouses, who were not eligible to receive the funds.
Magistrate Nurul Azuain Mohd Talhah granted the remand order following a request from the MACC.
Negri Sembilan MACC director Awgkok Ahmad Taufik Putra Awg Ismail confirmed the arrests, adding that the case is being investigated under Section 18 of the MACC Act 2009, which deals with the use of false claims.

Policeman killed in motorcycle accident on NSE near Kuala Kangsar
IPOH: A policeman has been killed while on his way home to Kedah after the motorcycle he was riding skidded at KM253.7 of the North-South Expressway (NSE) northbound near Kuala Kangsar. Perak police chief Datuk Noor Hisam Nordin said in the 7.24pm incident on Thursday (June 5), the victim Shamsul Ishak, 58, sustained injuries to his left rib area. "Further investigations found that the victim lost control (of his motorcycle), skidded and crashed into a metal road divider. "The victim, who was severely injured, was taken to the Taiping Hospital for further treatment. "However, he was pronounced dead at 9.24pm," he said. He added the victim was on holiday and making his way home to Alor Setar, Kedah. He added that further investigations are still ongoing and the case is now being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. – Bernama
