Tamannaah Bhatia blames Instagram algorithm for liking pages "on its own"
Bollywood actor Tamannaah Bhatia took to Instagram to explain how the social media platform apparently "likes" pages "on its own".
"Can Instagram pls figure out how it likes pages on its own, cause random people are making it news and I have work to do," the actor said while posting a story with a selfie of herself.
Reportedly, Tamannaah liked an Instagram reel that features Deepika Padukone and which highlighted issues such as the gender pay gap, unprofessional work environments, and misogyny.
The Odela 2 actor's post comes amid the ongoing controversy surrounding actor Deepika Padukone and filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga over the movie Spirit, from which Padukone had backed off and sparked a controversy.
Previously, Indian cricketing great Virat Kohli found himself at the centre of online chatter after several users noticed that his verified Instagram account had liked a post from a fan page dedicated to actor Avneet Kaur.
The star cricketer later took to the social media platform to clear the air. Kohli, without naming anyone, said the "like" seemed to be a mistake caused by the "app's algorithm".
"...There was absolutely no intent behind it (the interaction). I request that no unnecessary assumptions be made. Thank you for your understanding," read his Instagram story.

Performance-driven marketing firm Wisoft Solutions launches Indian operations
Wisoft Solutions, a UAE-based digital marketing agency with over a decade of operations in the Gulf region, has announced the expansion of its operations to Bengaluru, India. The move is part of the company's broader vision to create a seamless marketing bridge between businesses operating across the Middle East and the Indian subcontinent. Founded in Dubai in 2010, Wisoft solutions has grown into a performance-focused agency with clients across real estate, education and healthcare sectors. The company has also established a presence in Saudi Arabia and the United States. With India emerging as a key digital economy, the new Bengaluru hub is expected to enhance its ability to support brands navigating expansion between the GCC and India. 'India is not just a strategic geography for digital consumption — it's increasingly becoming a destination for business expansion and brand building,' said Saji S Nair, CEO and founder of Wisoft Solutions. 'We've worked with many Gulf-based brands seeking traction in Indian markets and vice versa. Bengaluru allows us to be on the ground, closer to evolving consumer behaviours, talent, and innovation.' Wisoft's move comes at a time when businesses in both regions are investing more heavily in marketing technologies and automation. The company's offerings, which include performance marketing, SEO, digital branding, social engagement strategies, and marketing automation, are positioned to serve organisations looking to optimise visibility and customer acquisition in a cross-border context. The choice of Bengaluru, India's technology and innovation capital, aligns with the city's growing importance as a hub for startups, multinational firms, and data-driven service industries. Wisoft solutions aims to collaborate with Indian enterprises expanding into GCC markets, particularly in sectors such as education, healthcare, fintech and real estate. Sangeetha Saji, managing director, noted that the expansion also builds on the existing expertise the company has cultivated across regional markets. 'We understand the nuances of both the GCC and Indian audiences. This dual-market fluency helps us offer targeted strategies that reflect cultural, linguistic and platform-specific preferences.' The expansion signals an increasing integration between digital economies in the Middle East and India, a trend accelerated by e-commerce growth, cross-border investment and diaspora-driven demand. Wisoft's Bengaluru office is expected to focus on strategy consulting, campaign execution and digital infrastructure services for clients operating across these economic corridors. As digital-first strategies become a prerequisite for business scalability, Wisoft solutions's expanded footprint aims to meet the rising need for high-performance, localised marketing execution with global scalability.

Trump says he used trade as leverage to prevent possible nuclear war between India and Pakistan
President Donald Trump on Friday said he had helped India and Pakistan avert a potential nuclear war by using trade with the US as leverage to push for a ceasefire. The South Asian neighbours exchanged artillery, plane and drone strikes this month after gunmen killed 26 people in April in the Himalayan tourist spot of Pahalgam in the Kashmir valley. India accused Pakistan of backing the attack, which Islamabad has denied. 'We stopped India and Pakistan from fighting, I believe that could have turned out into a nuclear disaster,' Mr Trump said in the Oval Office on Friday. 'We dropped trade, and we said we can't trade with people that are shooting at each other and potentially using nuclear weapons. … They're great leaders in those countries, and they understood, and they agreed, and that all stopped.' Mr Trump infuriated New Delhi this month when he announced the US had 'mediated' a ceasefire. Not only did his announcement pre-empt India making a statement, New Delhi has long maintained that any issues with Pakistan, including over the disputed Kashmir region, can only be addressed bilaterally and without the intervention of a third country. India has insisted the recent cessation of hostilities with Pakistan was decided through direct contacts between the two countries' armies. During an Indian Ministry of External Affairs news conference on Thursday, a spokesman said trade discussions never came up in ceasefire talks. 'The issue of trade or tariff did not come up in any of those discussions,' said Randhir Jaiswal. Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif welcomed Mr Trump's mediation and his 'very pivotal and paramount role' in ending the crisis. According to US figures, trade between America and India totalled about $129.2 billion last year, compared to $7.3 billion between the US and Pakistan.

IPL 2025: Rohit stars as Mumbai knock Gujarat out of tournament
Rohit Sharma led Mumbai Indians' batting charge with his 81 to knock Gujarat Titans out of the Indian Premier League with a 20-run win in the eliminator on Friday. Electing to bat, five-time champions Mumbai rode on a blazing opening stand between Rohit and England's Jonny Bairstow, who hit 47, to post 228-5 at Mullanpur in New Chandigarh. Bowlers combined to restrict Gujarat to 208-6 despite a valiant 80 by in-form opener Sai Sudharsan in a do-or-die playoff clash. Mumbai will now meet Punjab Kings in Qualifier 2 in Ahmedabad on Sunday to decide Royal Challengers Bengaluru's opponent in the title clash on June 3. Wicketkeeper-batsman Bairstow joined Mumbai ahead of the playoffs due to a few players leaving the tournament to fulfil international commitments and made an instant impact in his 22-ball knock. Rohit picked up pace despite surviving two dropped catches on three and 12 in a sloppy display of fielding by Gujarat players. Gujarat missed wicketkeeper-batter Jos Buttler and his replacement Sri Lanka's Kusal Mendis dropped two catches with the gloves. Left-arm spinner Sai Kishore denied Bairstow his fifty with Gerald Coetzee taking a relay catch from Sudharsan's rebound. Rohit kept up the charge as he went past 7000 IPL runs and reached his 47th fifty in the tournament with a four. New batter Suryakumar Yadav hit three sixes and one four in his 20-ball 33 before falling to Kishore. Gujarat attempted to pull things back with some disciplined bowling in the middle overs as Prasidh Krishna dismissed Rohit and fellow quick Mohammed Siraj cut short Tilak Varma's knock on 25. Skipper Hardik Pandya finished with a flourish in his unbeaten 22 off nine balls as Coetzee conceded 22 runs in the 20th over. In reply, Gujarat lost skipper Shubman Gill in the first over when former New Zealand left-arm quick Trent Boult trapped the opener lbw for one. Sudharsan, who leads the IPL batting chart with 759 runs, put the chase on track in key stands including an 84-run partnership with fellow left-hander Washington Sundar, who hit 48. Jasprit Bumrah bowled Sundar with a yorker and Mumbai's latest England import Richard Gleeson rattled the stumps of Sudharsan to dim Gujarat's hopes. Impact substitute Sherfane Rutherford fell on 24 in the 19th and with 24 needed in the final over Gleeson, who bowled just three balls before pulling out with apparent cramp, and then Ashwani Kumar kept their calm to seal Mumbai's win.
