Bull markets don't wait for second guesses. Those holding the right tokens succeed, while others succumb to FOMO and regret. But in a sea of hype, recycled white papers, and even a few rug pulls, finding real crypto gems takes more than just luck.To give you a head start in your hunt, here are three undervalued altcoins growing popular among early backers. From a lightning-fast Layer-2 for Bitcoin to a noncustodial wallet and pure meme energy, here are the top cryptos to keep on your radar.Bitcoin is the unchallenged crypto heavyweight. It moves like one, too. The blockchain is slow, expensive, and limited in functionality. But what does that have to do with Bitcoin Hyper ($HYPER)? This new and ambitious crypto project takes the best bits of Bitcoin (like security, value, dominance) and bolts them onto a high-speed Layer-2 built on the Solana Virtual Machine (SVM). That is expected to bring lightning-fast decentralised finance (DeFi), decentralised apps (dApps), and payments to the Bitcoin ecosystem.Users can bridge their Bitcoin directly into the Hyper network, unlocking smart contracts and near-zero-fee transactions. It could bring a whole new purpose for the billions in BTC sitting idle on Layer-1. That means swapping, earning, and gaming with Bitcoin-level value, but at Solana-level speed.Bitcoin Hyper doesn't plan on being another ambitious crypto project stuck in the ideation phase. It's already live on devnet, with:$HYPER, the native token of the Bitcoin Hyper ecosystem, will soon hit exchanges. But before that, those who believe in the project have a short window to grab the underrated token for fixed, discounted prices in the ongoing public presale.Having raised over $9 million already, the presale is promising, as Bitcoin Hyper is gaining traction. Early presale backers are also being rewarded with higher passive reward annual percentage yields (APYs). At the time of writing, $HYPER holders can lock in passive rewards of around 180% APY. These rewards adjust dynamically, pushing for early participation and discouraging quick exits. As a project that just might help Bitcoin expand its utility beyond a storage of value, Bitcoin Hyper is a must-watch altcoin this season.$SNORT powers the Snorter Bot, a full-stack Telegram bot that lets users snipe meme coins, copy top wallets, manage their portfolio, and execute swaps, all without ever leaving the chat.Built for Solana and Ethereum, Snorter Token does away with browser-based tools and clunky dashboards. With Snorter, everything happens inside Telegram, where most degens already live. It can handle a wide range of tasks, from instant sniping at launch using contract addresses to sub-second swaps through custom Solana RPC.Snorter Token ($SNORT) isn't just about speed. It is also cheap. Users holding $SNORT get reduced fees, from 1.5% down to 0.85%, undercutting every major bot competitor. In addition, it is equipped with honeypot detection, mint trap alerts, and blacklist scans. In fact, it has an 85% detection success rate in beta. For investors who have a habit of getting wrecked in the meme coin market, this is a project to check out.The bot's copy-wallet feature lets users mirror top wallets in real time, complete with PnL tracking and position sizing. Meanwhile, the built-in portfolio tracker gives a full view of holdings, profits, and cost basis, all through a simple command. So, another meme coin wrapped in utility? Not really. Snorter Token is a direct response to the meme coin boom and the growing demand for tools that work. It can be best described as a utility token wrapped in meme culture. The $SNORT presale is live on both Solana and Ethereum. Although it has only been a few weeks since it launched, the presale has already raised over $2.5 million. A passive income program is also live for early backers with dynamic APYs.These days, many projects claim to build 'AI-powered' products with suspicious vagueness. The crypto market is no exception to fluff, either. But most investors can see through it. Interestingly, that hasn't stopped projects from selling the AI trope.A closer look at the crypto market reveals that AI is not solely to blame. For years, the market has set out on ambitious missions to revolutionise finance, the environment, art, and so on. How many of these have made an impact? Only a few.TOKEN6900 ($T6900) is a satire on this trend. Billed as the first true NCT (non-corrupt token), TOKEN6900 mocks everything mainstream finance holds dear, from bonds to stocks and even meme coins. The project offers no product, value proposition, or hope. It does not attempt to hide the fact that all it has to offer is memes. And that's exactly why it's hitting harder than expected. At the time of writing, over $2 million has already been raised in its viral presale, with 80% of the supply up for grabs and a hard cap of $5 million. The tokenomics is simple, and the presale model is refreshingly straightforward, with no VC allocations or dev bag dumps lurking in the shadows.Even passive rewards are handled with clarity. The current yield for early participants hovers around 45% APY, but this rate dynamically declines as more people join in. It rewards early backing.Inspired by the 2000s internet energy, the memes strike a chord with investors who are perpetually online. For those tired of utility theatre and ghosted roadmaps, TOKEN6900 is a refreshing new crypto gem to watch this season.Bitcoin Hypersupport@Bitcoinhyper.comSnorter Tokeninfo@snortertoken.comTOKEN6900help@TOKEN6900.com*You must be at least 18 years old to access this site.Crypto products and NFTs are unregulated and can be highly risky. Cryptocurrency: America rushes in where India, China fear to tread
Geopolitics has revived the 'crypto wars' of the 1990s, yet today the struggle is continental rather than computational. On one flank stand the United States and much of the West, treating digital tokens as just another volatile asset class to be tamed by markets and tolerated by regulators. On the other side stand China and India, unlikely fellows whose shared suspicion of borderless money has inspired a twin assault on private crypto-currencies. Whether laissez-faire zeal or dirigiste caution proves the surer guide will shape global finance. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD Beijing fired the latest salvo on May 31, when it imposed a blanket ban on mining, trading and even private ownership of coins such as Bitcoin and Ethereum. The decree capped a decade-long squeeze that began with banking curbs in 2013, hardened into an ICO prohibition in 2017 and outlawed onshore transactions in 2021. Three concerns drove the final kill switch. First, capital flight: analysts reckon more than $50 billion seeped out of China via crypto in 2019-20. Second, financial stability: untamed price swings threaten household savings and could undermine the country's highly leveraged property developers and shadow banks. Third, political control: decentralised ledgers collide with the Communist Party's quest for digital sovereignty and jeopardise the e-CNY, a central-bank token Beijing insists must sit on the throne. New Delhi has not gone so far, yet it has tightened the fiscal tourniquet. Gains on any coin attract a punitive 30 per cent tax and a one-percent tax deducted at source on every trade. The Reserve Bank of India, which once likened Bitcoin to a Ponzi scheme, still campaigns for an outright ban, warning that borderless money could drain rupee sovereignty and turbocharge illicit flows. Across the Pacific the mood is giddier. Roughly one in six American adults already owns some crypto. Wall Street hawks spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds; North America now processes more on-chain value than any other region. Donald Trump, sensing populist resonance, is pouring accelerant on the bonfire. His media firm is floating 'America First' crypto ETFs, seeking a 2.5-billion-dollar Bitcoin treasury and trumpeting the Genius Act, a law that offers legitimacy to dollar-pegged stablecoins. Meanwhile, a meme coin dubbed 'Trump' has vaulted from obscurity to multibillion-dollar heft, with scant disclosure and most of the supply parked in entities the former president ultimately controls. Oversight, like taxes on Mar-a-Lago tips, looks optional. The divergence is rooted in history as much as ideology. The West has few capital controls and long experience of volatile assets; the Global South has spent decades fencing off foreign-exchange reserves. Washington views crypto much as it once viewed biotech or cannabis: speculative, risky, but ultimately containable. Beijing and New Delhi see an escape hatch through which wealth, tax and ultimately sovereignty might vanish. Studies of money laundering reinforce their fears. Forensic firms report that criminals cherish the 'virtually instant' cross-border hop of tokens, and European police agencies warn that professional crypto-launderers now pose a systemic threat. Officials fret that a mere string of private keys could spirit fortunes abroad faster than regulators can draft circulars. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD Yet the prize is hardly stable. Bitcoin has crashed by more than 50 per cent five times: from 1,200 dollars to 200 in 2013, from 20,000 to 3,000 in 2018, and from 69,000 to 20,000 in 2022, before roaring past six figures in late 2024. Still, adoption creeps upward. Roughly 560 million people—almost seven per cent of humanity—now hold a sliver of crypto. Millennials dominate in America; in Vietnam and Nigeria grass-roots users are even younger. The genie is out, but it still rides a roller coaster. Proponents trumpet three virtues. Crypto, they say, slashes payment friction, crossing borders in minutes rather than banking days. It extends financial inclusion because a smartphone is cheaper than a branch network. And it offers censorship resistance, letting dissidents raise funds under repressive regimes. Each claim carries a sting. Congestion fees can rival bank wire costs, and proof-of-work remains an energy glutton. Volatile balances can evaporate faster than payday-loan interest, leaving the poorest with no recourse. The same cloak that shields activists also hides ransomware gangs and narco-cartels, frustrating police armed only with subpoenas. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD Meanwhile, the stand-off sharpens. China's e-CNY pilots are courting Belt-and-Road creditors; India's digital-rupee sandbox is under way. The United States toys with a central-bank dollar yet seems happier letting private stablecoins bloom so long as they stay green-backed and vaguely regulated. The conflict is no longer merely regulatory; it is philosophical. Must money remain an instrument of the state, or can code and consensus dethrone the decree? Crypto's architecture answers yes; its history of scams answers not yet. The writer is a senior journalist with expertise in defence.
