'We've had the opportunity to go on the road with all of our idols,' Kelly tells me.
'We were very, very lucky to be on David Bowie's last tour.
The Rolling Stones, Red Hot Chili Peppers, U2 – they all took us on tour. You can't beat that.
From being taken to see the Stones at a gig in 1989 by my brothers, when they were buying me a bootleg T-shirt, to then opening for the band a few years later – it's just all a bit surreal, still.
Oh and Ronnie Wood being in my wedding band, it's just f***ing [ridiculous] really.
They are the moments I will take with me, because they are things that I thought were never achievable.'
Opening up about their back catalogue, Kelly explains: 'Being a songwriter has many sides.
When I wrote the solo album Inevitable, Incredible, the process was really deep, and not a very pleasant experience.
It was deeply emotional, cathartic and kind of unnerving at times because you didn't know where those emotions were coming from.
It's about being as honest and vulnerable and truthful as I can be. I don't try to edit myself as I go along.'
Was Blue Origin mission FAKED? Conspiracy theorists reveal 'proof'
Of the new album, he adds: 'Some of the stuff on this record is uplifting, anthemic and feel-good and then there are other songs that are introspective.'
August 2027 marks the 30th anniversary of their debut album Word Gets Around, but Kelly admits they won't be throwing a massive bash.
'I'm not sure if we will make a big deal of it,' Kelly explains.
'It seems like every two years there is an anniversary for one record or another.
I've always tried to move forward rather than move back.
I'm proud of what Word Gets Around is.
I'm really grateful that I continue to write songs and have made 13 albums and have 180 songs to pick and choose from every night.'

After going into space on Jeff Bezos' Blue Origin rocket, she beamed in a sculpted green corset during the show, which also saw her elevated inside a sphere and flying around the arena on a robotic butterfly.
Butterflies featured heavily in the imagery for her latest album 143, and she had one in the colours of the Mexican flag on her microphone as she performed.
She has a busy summer of shows ahead, with the tour taking her across North and South America as well as Australia before heading to Europe.
Katy will play shows across the country in October – and by the look of these snaps, it will be worth the wait.
Geri's not mad keen
Geri Halliwell-Horner has dissed Madonna, saying the superstar's continued releasing of music makes her not want to get back in the studio with the Spice Girls.

Ginger Spice kept schtum on whether there will be a reunion in 2026 for the 30th anniversary of their debut single Wannabe, as previously teased by Melanie C, but suggested there is unlikely to be more music from the girl group.
Asked on Times Radio whether they would do so, Geri explained: 'If it felt relevant, but if not . . . either way is OK.
From a fan perspective, let's say Madonna. I'm a massive fan and want to hear Holiday and Into the Groove. I love Ray of Light, but have I connected to her later stuff? No.
But she has every right to do that as an artist. It's the relevancy. If it felt relevant then I would.'
As for whether there will be anything else with Melanie, Emma Bunton, Mel B and potentially even Victoria Beckham, she added: 'I love the Spice Girls as a whole movement, the tribe of us, and the individual members.
When we come to that conclusion of what that is, it comes from all of us.'
Nicole Scherzinger found a novel way for the show to go on – by singing through . . . a megaphone.
She has been getting rave reviews as Norma Desmond in Broadway show Sunset Boulevard, but had to cancel Wednesday's matinee after the sound system failed.
But Nicole was determined fans would not be too disappointed and grabbed a megaphone and belted out the show's song With One Look.
What's up with Lorde
She was part of Charli XCX's Brat summer last year and now Lorde is back with her own music.

The Brit actress plays Kate, the wife of Penn Badgley's murderous Joe Goldberg, in the drama, and admitted the massive role has taken a toll as now millions more people around the globe know who she is.
She said: 'I really struggled with it for a year or two – that feeling that you're known but people don't really know you, and wanting you to live up to their expectations.
I've had talking therapy for the last few years, and it's helped me process it.'
With You returning to Netflix yesterday, she added of her character's cold emotions: 'I used to worry that people would think I was like Kate, and then I felt like I had to prove that I wasn't.
Now I know it doesn't matter.
I don't have time in each interaction for them to understand the whole of me and for me to understand the whole of them.'

The Gift of Not Belonging by Dr Rami Kaminski: Hate Small Talk? You could be an Einstein!
The Gift of Not Belonging by Dr Rami Kaminski (Scribe £14.99, 240pp) As a boy, the American psychiatrist Rami Kaminski seemed perfectly normal: he was funny and had plenty of friends, he wasn't shy or reclusive or socially anxious. But from an early age, he writes in The Gift Of Not Belonging, he felt apart from the herd. He abhorred group activities, and though he wanted to share his friends' interests – sexual conquests, sports teams, the Rolling Stones – he just didn't care about anything they did. He was, in short, a true individual, no matter how hard he tried mentally to fuse with the collective. Kaminski has now come up with a word for people like him: 'otroverts'. It was Carl Jung, he notes, who invented the terms introvert and extrovert. But otroverts (derived from 'otro', meaning other, and 'vert', meaning to turn) face neither inward nor outward: their 'fundamental orientation', Kaminski writes, 'is defined by the fact that it is rarely the same direction that anyone else is facing'. Otroverts are fundamentally non-communal people, and go through life feeling incapable of fitting in. Parties are a trial; they prefer to do school or work projects alone; they loathe small talk and like to go immediately to the deep stuff. Queues are a particular torment, as are settings in which people tend to adopt 'an air of self-seriousness or self-importance' – such as the opera or avant-garde art shows. Otroverts tend to obey the rules, because they want to pass as normal, but they have no intellectual respect for them. And though they are keen observers, they are immune to what Kaminski calls the 'bluetooth phenomenon' – the ability many people have to emotionally 'pair' with others in their vicinity. You either are an otrovert, according to Kaminski, or you're not. And particularly for the teenage otrovert, life can be agony. One therapy client of his sent her 14-year-old son to see him, because she was disturbed by the fact he didn't seem to suffer from FOMO (the fear of missing out), like most teenagers. But Kaminski saw no reason to be alarmed: her son just wasn't built for communal life. Kaminski clearly thinks rather a lot of otroverts like himself, and lassoes all sorts of high-flyers onto his team: Frida Kahlo, Franz Kafka, even Albert Einstein, whom he deems to be 'perhaps the most famous otrovert' of all time. And he claims that there are many benefits to being non-communal. Sure, you might hide in the loos at parents' evening, but you're likely to be empathetic, non-judgmental and capable of dazzling out-of-the-box thinking. The book ends with a fun quiz that seeks to establish whether the reader is likely to be an otrovert or not. I fell short of the category and felt rather insulted not to be in Kaminski's special club – a reaction presumably appropriate for a communal dullard like me. Above all, Kaminski argues, otroverts thrive when they embrace who they are. They must not be harassed to take part, but allowed to revel in their glorious difference.

Bachelor star Nick Viall reveals wife Natalie Joy has suffered third devastating miscarriage

Nick gained fame through his appearances on The Bachelorette and as The Bachelor himself, with him meeting his wife through Instagram years later. The 44-year-old reality star has now revealed his wife endured her third pregnancy loss this year. He made the heartbreaking revelation in the latest episode of his podcast, The Viall Files. Natalie, 26, who usually sits beside her husband when the podcast is being filmed, was absent from this episode. Opening his podcast, Nick addressed Natalie's unusual absence, saying, "As you can see, Natalie is not with us. "There's no really easy way to talk about this..." He then got candid with his listeners as he revealed the heartbreaking news. Nick opened up and said, "Sadly, Natalie experienced another miscarriage. "It is her third this year, our third this year... "There's no really good way to say it, it f**king sucks." Tensions heat up on Bachelor in Paradise as relationship tests are officially underway Nick continued, "She's obviously at home resting, healing, both physically and emotionally." The couple are parents to their one-year-old daughter River Rose, who was born two months before they got married. Natalie first suffered a miscarriage in January of this year before enduring a second pregnancy loss just two months later. Nick explained to his listeners, "When it happens the first time, the doctors and everyone kind of acknowledge that, while terrible, this is that something that can happen. "And everyone's just... don't freak out, there's nothing wrong, it sadly can be a part of this process." Nick went on, "And then it happened the second time, you know, obviously we have a lot of amazing blessings in our life, first and foremost being River, minus like some morning sickness and things like that, we were very lucky to have a fairly easy pregnancy... "Really no complications, which was such an amazing blessing. "Despite what's going on right now with us, our doctor keeps reminding us that that is the best sign of our future ability to grow our family." He then spoke of how the couple now feel "uneasy". "But right now obviously there's a little bit of uneasiness," he said candidly. "It's far less normal to have two and three back to back. "Now we're kind of in that very scary process of running tests and finding out more about ourselves, and it's like this weird thing of like you want them to find something, but you don't want them to find something. "Because if they find something, you don't know what that means. We're in this kind of very uncharted territory of fact finding. Which sucks," he said. Nick also said, "I really just wanted to be transparent with you guys 'cause I know she wasn't there yesterday, people started to notice, and we're already getting messages with like a lot of concern. "So overall, Natalie is doing OK physically and healing and she's OK in that respect and emotionally, we're currently dealing with that."
