Liverpool: Hotels to be built out of shipping containers
Temporary hotel rooms in shipping containers were first seen during the British Grand Prix in 2011, the Local Democracy Reporting Service (LDRS) says.The developers argued in their plans that the black shipping containers would fit in with nearby buildings. The majority of the units would would have three bedrooms within each container, which are 45ft (13.7m) in length.The hotel would be open 24 hours a day, seven days per week with a 24-hour licence for hotel guests.
'Contemporary reinterpretation'
Snoozebox, which has a site in London's Olympic Park, is a subsidiary of the Portable Living Group, which specialises in portable accommodation. It said its guests were offered "compact and cleverly designed en-suite hotel rooms and hotel services".Snoozebox's planning application said the Baltic Market site would reflect its "historic industrial context" while providing a "contemporary reinterpretation of details in new developments in the area".The company said it also wanted to open a bar and entertainment and music venue space which would be open to the public every day from 1100 GMT to 0100.It said its plans would "allow more people to visit and stay in the area, which will have a positive economic impact on local businesses in accordance with the Baltic Triangle."

Products that are typically discounted are seasonal items and old stock that B&M is trying to shift. The app is free to download off the B&M Stores mobile app via Google Play or the Apple App Store. According to one ex-B&M manager, you'll want to visit your local branch at 10am on a Wednesday too. Tiffin Sandwiches expansion to create hundreds of Bradford jobs
A sandwich company has been given the go-ahead to expand its operations, creating hundreds of company Tiffin Sandwiches was granted permission to build a 50,000 sq ft (4,645 sq m) factory next to its base on Commondale Way, near the company also announced it had purchased another Bradford sandwich company, Love Bites.A spokesman for Tiffin said the company was "committed to building a sustainable future while ensuring the growth and prosperity of our local community in Bradford". They told the Local Democracy Reporting Service: "The new factory is set to create and secure numerous local jobs, providing opportunities for professional growth and development while fostering relationships with local suppliers."Our investment not only strengthens our operations but also boosts the Bradford economy, empowering the community as a whole."The company thanked Love Bites founders Richard and Gill Smith for their dedication to the business over the past 35 said: "Their passion and commitment have created a strong foundation, and we are pleased to announce that Richard will continue to play a key role within the business, utilising his extensive industry experience to guide the future of Love Bites."Last summer Tiffin applied for permission to build a new factory and office space next to its headquarters. It said the £10m project would create about 400 site is currently used as a lorry the development, Bradford Council planning officers said: "The proposal is considered to represent a sustainable form of development which would provide economic development and employment opportunities within the district."
