POTENTIAL jurors in Sean "Diddy" Combs' sex trafficking trial are being grilled on whether they recognize any celebrities on a list of 190 names presented during jury selection.
They've also been asked if they've seen the horrific video of Combs, 55, beating ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura as the meticulous process of seating a jury gets underway in Manhattan.

Why jurors were asked about the list of celebrities remains unclear at this stage of the trial.
Combs has been sitting in jail since September, awaiting trial on five criminal counts.
He's accused of racketeering, two counts of sex trafficking, and two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution.
The first part of his trial finally got underway on Monday as Judge Arun Subramanian, the prosecution, and Combs' defense began questioning around 150 people to determine if they should serve on the jury.

Potential jurors were questioned about the list of 190 celebrities and public figures, which included actors Michael B. Jordan and Mike Myers and rappers Kanye West and Kid Cudi, Variety reported.
Destiny's Child singer Michelle Williams, actor Lauren London, and singer Dawn Richard were also on the list.
It isn't known why certain celebrities are named; however, Kid Cudi is believed to be a victim of an alleged 2011 car bombing by Combs.
The alleged attack happened after Cudi was rumored to be romantically involved with Combs' then-ex-girlfriend and star witness in the case, Cassie.
One juror, identified as number two, reportedly said he was familiar with Jordan and Myers from their films.
Rapper Kanye West was also mentioned as the judge asked jurors whether "views on Kanye West" would make them an unfair juror.

In addition to their familiarity with various celebrities, jurors were asked about their views on law enforcement as well as more intimate questions about their sex lives and any previous history with domestic violence.
Due to allegations in the case, potential jurors were also asked whether they were or knew anyone who had been sexually assaulted.

About 90 minutes into the intense juror questioning, Combs asked the judge for a two-minute bathroom break.
"I'm sorry your honor, I'm a little nervous today," Combs said.
The hip-hop mogul sported a different look in court as he was permitted to wear street clothes rather than his baggy jail uniform.
He arrived in court at 9 am in dark glasses and a dark sweater.
A half-hour later, jury selection began.

Subramanian had already excused several juror candidates before lunch was called.
The judge excused one person who called the video of Combs dragging and kicking Cassie in a hotel hallway, "damning."
Combs' lawyers also fought to remove a woman who worked for HBO as the media company recently released a documentary called The Fall of Diddy.
Subramanian overruled the attempt as the woman did not have any involvement in the making of the film.
HIGH-PROFILE TRIAL
The trial is expected to last eight weeks with opening arguments expected to take place on May 12.
All jury members will remain anonymous, as is standard in high-profile cases.
Combs faces life in prison if he is convicted of the charges against him.
It emerged at a final pre-trial hearing that he turned down a plea deal which would've likely meant less jail time.
Combs has insisted he's innocent ever since his arrest last year.

Huge 00s music star reveals he wants Glastonbury 2027 headline slot as he bares soul on new album Commitment

It's been 25 years since he released his debut album BORN TO DO IT BORN TO DO IT Huge 00s music star reveals he wants Glastonbury 2027 headline slot as he bares soul on new album Commitment Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) IT'S been a huge year for Craig David so far, with an arena tour completed, his new album Commitment dropping on Friday and the 25th anniversary of debut record Born To Do It next Thursday. When I catch up over Zoom with the nicest man in music, I tell him I'm desperately hoping to see him at the next Glastonbury in 2027. Sign up for the Entertainment newsletter Sign up 9 Craig David's new album, Commitment, drops on Friday as he celebrates the 25th anniversary of Born To Do It Credit: Ejatu Shaw 9 Craig says he would love to play Glastonbury again, 10 years after he was last on the Pyramid Stage Credit: Reuters The date would fall almost exactly ten years to the day he last graced the Pyramid Stage — and I think we can make it happen. Craig smiles: 'You're my lucky charm, Ellie. You put good things out into the space so stay tuned. 'I would love to go back. You know what Glastonbury means to any artist. 'When I performed on the Pyramid Stage, it was one of the most iconic moments for me. "I could see that there were so many people from so many different walks of life who'd come to see a myriad of different artists. 'I'd never seen so many people and I thought that is what it is normally like. 'People were like, 'No, Craig, the crowd went over the bank at the back and that is huge.' It was just amazing.' The reaction to Craig's ninth album Commitment I'm sure will be just as impressive. In my eyes, it's Craig's best body of work since Born To Do It. 'Creating Commitment was in a lot of respects very similar to Born To Do It,' Craig explains. 'It didn't feel like I was under this pressure to deliver. It felt really relaxed and cathartic. Craig David gives huge update on new album and reveals massive collaboration with Tiwa Savage 'I was listening to the music I grew up listening to, like when I made the first album. "It got me into a vibe and then I'd go in the studio until 4am. 'I was just loving it, having so much fun.' New single Rain, which is out now, is classic Craig — clean, crisp and showcasing his lyricism and vocals at their best. Themes of love and loss, as with most of Craig's songs, feature heavily on the record with beautiful tracks Perfect Love and So Special crafted with Wretch 32. Craig explains: 'Wretch is known for his lyricism as a rapper but in the studio he was doing these vocals and I'm like, 'Bro, let me hear that again.' 'His source of where his melodies come from are like Earth, Wind, and Fire. "One of his favourite albums is Hotel California. 'His melodies on Perfect Love, I'm thinking, 'Wretch, what is this?' This is like fire in a booth.' Leave The Light On, Craig's collaboration with Louisa Johnson, is equally as impressive, with Becky Hill putting her stamp on tune as a co-writer. 'PERSONAL TRACK' The result is, as Craig correctly puts it: 'A dance banger.' He adds: 'Becky came in for a songwriting session and it wasn't going to be a song with Becky as the front artist. "She sang it and it was amazing. I said, 'Becky, where are we going from here?' Unanimously Louisa's name came up. 'She can sing these real soul diva vocals you get from artists like Aretha Franklin. 'I reached out and, when you have Becky Hill to do a demo, it's very difficult to be like . . . you're going toe to toe with one of the best vocalists in this country. "But she did it justice. The ad-libs were like out of Mariah Carey's book.' My favourite track on the record is Dominoes, a stripped back and lyrically powerful song which I feel is Craig's most personal track on Commitment. The opening lyrics are poignant, with Craig singing: 'Told you to stand up, told you to face up, and you'd believe. 'Because it's easy to man up being the man you're supposed to be. 'Under the surface you're getting tired of playing the role, and you wish it was different but it's all you know.' 9 Becky Hill co-wrote Leave The Light On, Craig's collaboration with Louisa Johnson Credit: Getty Craig says of Dominoes: 'It's one of my favourites from the album. "I hope that it has the same impact on people who listen to it. 'Even if you didn't know you needed it. The whole point of Dominoes is that we all fall and that's OK.' As well as shining through on this album track, Craig's kindness extends to his everyday life and desire to give back. He is a proud ambassador for Shelter and earlier this year took his mum Tina back to the flat they lived in when he was a kid, as part of a campaign to call on the Government to provide more social housing. Craig says: 'I met the family there now, a single mother with three children and that was a very similar situation to me and my mum. 'I grew up on what was called a council estate then. If my mum didn't have that it would have been very different circumstances for us. 'FOUND FIRE' 'I went to my bedroom where I recorded Born To Do It, I was looking out at the same car park. 'I thought, it's been 25 years or more since I left this flat. "If the walls could speak they would be like, 'I remember when you were mumbling some distant lyrics into a dictaphone.' 'I surprised the family there with a few songs I wrote in the house, Walking Away, Fill Me In and 7 Days. 'It was one of the most special moments because those walls, the sofa, the living room - it all looked the same.' Born To Do It changed his life. Craig has amassed 16 Top Ten singles and two No1 records in the years that followed. With Commitment, Craig has found his fire again. 'You start to get back to why I originally made music,' Craig explains. 'It's crazy when it's the ninth album in. 'To have a career spanning 25 years, I'm just really grateful. Ellie, it's a crazy journey we're on.' From Friday it's going to get even crazier, Craig. The bumper earnings, which cover the year to September 30, 2024, took assets to £10.3million before bills, just two years after Jimmy set up the company. But the business was presented with a not-so-funny tax bill of £1.2million due to his bumper income. I bet he will pay that pronto, after his 2012 tax scandal.
