'Avatar: Seven Havens' first look reveals the next earthbending Avatar
Meet the new Avatar.
Avatar: Seven Havens, the next sequel series in Nickelodeon's kid-friendly animated fantasy franchise, revealed a first look out of a panel at Comic-Con International in San Diego on Thursday.
The image reveals the Avatar who will follow Korra, the waterbending Avatar from The Legend of Korra. This new Avatar, capable of commanding all four natural elements (earth, air, fire, water), was born an earthbender. And in this timeline, she's considered humanity's destroyer, not its savior."
According to a previously released show description, Avatar: Seven Havens "is set in a world shattered by a devastating cataclysm. A young earthbender discovers she's the new Avatar after Korra — but in this dangerous era, that title marks her as humanity's destroyer, not its savior. Hunted by both human and spirit enemies, she and her long-lost twin must uncover their mysterious origins and save the Seven Havens before civilization's last strongholds collapse."
The first-look image also reveals her mentor, who appears to be wearing airbender colors. And because every Avatar needs an animal companion, we also get that reveal of this unnamed earthbender's four-legged friend.
The initial 26 episodes will be split into two seasons, known as Book 1 and Book 2. Each will consist of 13 half-hour episodes.
Original series creators Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, who made both Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra, are back, spearheading Avatar: Seven Havens. "When we created the original series, we never imagined we'd still be expanding the world decades later," they said in a previous joint statement. "This new incarnation of the Avatarverse is full of fantasy, mystery, and a whole new cast of amazing characters. Get ready to take another epic and emotional adventure!"
Casting information and a premiere date will be revealed at a later time.
Paramount is also developing the first Avatar animated movie, about Avatar Aang as an adult. That project is scheduled to release in theaters on Jan. 30, 2026, with a voice cast that includes Dave Bautista, Dionne Quan, Jessica Matten, Román Zaragoza, and newcomer Eric Nam.

He shared: 'I'm really excited what they're doing and what they're going to do with it. They're all saying it's going to be R-rated, but until you know officially, we'll wait for word from them.' When asked if the movie might tie into previous Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film adaptations, Eastman described how The Last Ronin creatively mirrors the standalone nature of Miller's Dark Knight : 'What I've been told in the discussions, as limited as they are, is that what they loved about Last Ronin — because Last Ronin, to me, was a love poem to Frank Miller's Dark Knight. 'All things Batman exist in Dark Knight, but it was set in a universe just to the left [of canon]. So they didn't have to play by all the lineage rules … they were able to tell a story all within itself. And with The Last Ronin, we took that same approach, but it leans heavily on the Mirage Universe.' For Eastman, the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #1 from 1984 signifies "the beginning," and The Last Ronin represents "the end," making it an ideal self-contained narrative. "It's my understanding that's the approach they're going to take, and good for them, and wise. I think it's the right way to go." Expanding upon this gritty vision, Eastman and Waltz have dubbed the expanding storyline the 'Ronin-verse,' featuring spin-offs like The Last Ronin: The Lost Years , The Last Ronin—Lost Day Special , and the upcoming sequel The Last Ronin II: Re-Evolution. Skydance boss David Ellison reveals leadership team ahead of Parmount merger
Skydance Media on Monday rolled out the new executive leadership team ahead of this week's long-stalled $8 billion merger with Paramount Global. Skydance CEO David Ellison, the son of billionaire Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison, will assume the helm of the new publicly traded company, to be called Paramount Skydance Corp., when it debuts Thursday. The media giant — whose properties include CBS, MTV, the Paramount Pictures studio and the Paramount+ streaming service — will be structured into three primary business segments: Studios; Direct to-Consumer, and TV Media, the tech scion said. 4 Skydance CEO David Ellison has named is executive leadership team post merger.
