Keita Balde: ‘Icardi and Wanda Nara are without a heart'
Keita Balde Diao has apologised to his ex-wife after confirming that he had an affair with Wanda Nara, who at the time was married to his Inter teammate Mauro Icardi. 'They are without a heart.'
There had long been rumours of off the field issues involving Nara being behind the breakdown of Icardi's rapport with the squad and subsequent departure.
The situation got back into the headlines last month when Icardi published an Instagram Story alleging his now ex-wife had cheated on him with Keita Balde.
The couple broke up in October 2021 and got back together, but have now definitively separated and are locked in an increasingly ugly battle played out over the media.
Now Keita Balde has broken his silence with an interview on Canale 5 show Verissimo, where he sent a video message for his ex-wife Simone Guatieri.
'Betrayal is a word that really burns. It was the biggest mistake of my life, betraying the love of my life,' said Keita Balde.
'She deserves all the love and respect in the world. I want to take on the full responsibility and leave this silence, because the problem is now affecting my family.
'Mauro and Wanda's public game is not part of my life. I am aware of the mistake that I made, I don't blame them entirely, but they know that there are children in this situation who are being affected.
'The way they dragged this all out shows they are without a heart. I felt terribly small after the mistakes I made, but I fight like a lion if my family is affected and I have taken legal action.
'Simona is the only woman I will ever love, for the rest of my life. I am here fighting for you.'
Keita Balde and Simona Guatieri have two children together and both have taken legal action against Icardi and Nara.
'They cannot just put our private business into the public sphere for their own ends,' said Guatieri.
'We have a different morality to them. My husband fell into their trap, but kept it to himself. If my husband was to show what she had sent to him… we'd never hear the end of it.
'Icardi should concentrate on football, because this is a short career, he shouldn't get tied up in gossip.'
While Icardi is currently at Galatasaray, Keita is now a free agent and is training with Monza for a potential return to Serie A.
'I had forgiven him because we'd only just got married, we had two very small children and I was honestly ashamed,' continued Guatieri.
'I had a chat with Mrs Nara. She was trying to get back into my husband's life. She didn't want me to think badly of her, but I was so angry I don't even remember the call. She denied it and said I ought to take it out on my husband instead.'

Inter hesitant to activate Zalewski's option
With the departure of Simone Inzaghi and the arrival of Christian Chivu, Inter's transfer plans may change. One of the players that may feel the consequences of Inter's managerial switch is Nicola Zalewski who is currently there on loan from Roma. Advertisement In fact, as reported by Filippo Biafora of Il Tempo, the Nerazzurri have not yet decided whether to exercise the buy option for the Pole set at 6.5 million. Inter have until June 18 to decide. Zalewski enjoyed Inzaghi's trust, and until a few days ago the permanent agreement seemed like a formality. Now, however, it will be Chivu, former Giallorossi player, who will have to decide whether to rely on Zalewski next season or send him back to the capital.
