BRS netas misleading farmers over irrigation projects: Telangana irrigation minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy
Former minister T Harish Rao, has made it a habit to spread falsehoods, Uttam said. During the Kharif and Rabi seasons, farmers recorded unprecedented paddy cultivation. The BRS is trying to mislead the farmers almost every crop season since the Congress came into power, he said.
Clarifying the situation regarding the Kalwakurthy project, Uttam stated that pumps are typically switched on towards the end of July or the beginning of August each year to supply water for Kharif crops.
The same procedure will be followed this year, and farmers should have no doubts.

He emphasised that decisions regarding the release of water from irrigation projects, and the quantity allocated to each ayacut, would be made by the govt at the appropriate time, based on farmers' needs and current water storage levels. The irrigation plan for each ayacut will be finalised during the SCIWAM (State Level Committee for Integrated Water Planning and Management) meeting scheduled for July 11.
The minister also alleged that the conspiracies behind Andhra Pradesh's illegal drawing of Krishna waters have now been exposed.

Beyond Political Divide: When BJP, Congress leaders shared stage to award Tazia makers
On Sunday, two senior leaders, one each from the ruling BJP and the opposition Congress, attended a Tazia procession being carried out by the Muslim community members on the occasion of Muharram in Surat. During the procession, Gujarat BJP Chief and Union Minister for Jal Shakti C R Paatil attended the procession with Mayor Daxesh Mavani, City BJP President Paresh Patel, and the party's municipal corporators, among others. Tazias with best designs were handed out trophies by Paatil. Former Surat Mayor and senior Congress leader Kadir Pirzada shared the stage with Paatil as the latter recalled instances from the past such as allotment of a piece of land for installing a statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj when Pirzada was the Surat mayor or when, following their joint efforts, two public events — celebration of the birth anniversary of the Maratha warrior king and Tazia processions — were held peacefully in Limbayat area of the city. Meanwhile, a former Congress MLA of Savarkundla in Amreli district attended a Tazia procession, a video of which went viral on social media. Speaking to The Indian Express, Dudhat said, 'As a public leader and someone belonging to a party that follows secularism, I participate in both Tazia procession as well as festivals of other religions every year. The video which went viral is of Limdi Chowk, in Savarkundla town of Amreli district, on Sunday afternoon. As a public leader, I got an invitation and not only did I remain present, I also participated in the rituals. During Hindu festivals, the Muslims also took an active part, giving water and soft drinks to the people participating in the Hindu procession.' He further said, 'It is a norm in villages in Gujarat where both Hindus and Muslims participate in each other's religious activities. I have done nothing new.'

Karnataka Chief Minister change buzz grows as DKS gains Lingayat support
The big focus of this episode of Super 6 is on the ongoing political developments in Karnataka, particularly the speculation surrounding a potential change in Chief Minister. Despite Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's assertion that he will complete a full five-year term, Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar appears to be rallying support, including from prominent Lingayat seers and crucial vote banks like the Vokkaliga and Lingayat communities. The Congress high command's silence on the matter and recent meetings with MLAs have further fuelled speculation. The video explores the delicate balance of power between Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar, the reported 2.5-year CM tenure plan, and the implications of these developments on Karnataka's political landscape. Additionally, it touches on alliance developments in Tamil Nadu politics, while suggesting that Shivakumar is strategically biding his time and building necessary support within the Karnataka Congress and among key voter groups.
