Sabrina Carpenter Joins BRIT Awards Lineup as a Performer and Honoree
Yara Sameh Sabrina Carpenter is the latest act to join the list of performers at the upcoming BRIT Awards (March 1) and will collect the global success award at the ceremony. The 'Espresso' singer will head to The O2 Arena in London to perform during the ceremony. She joins JADE, Myles Smith, Shaboozey, Teddy Swims, and The Last Dinner Party who were announced as performers in January. Carpenter is nominated in two categories at the ceremony — International Artist of the Year and International Song of the Year for 'Espresso.' The honorary global success award will return after a six-year absence, having been awarded between 2013 and 2019. Adele, One Direction, and Ed Sheeran each won the prize twice during that time frame. View this post on Instagram A post shared by The BRIT Awards (@brits) The performance will arrive ahead of her U.K. and Ireland tour, which begins in Dublin on March 3 and runs through Birmingham, London, and Glasgow before wrapping in Manchester on March 16. In July, she'll return for a headline appearance at BST Hyde Park in central London. Carpenter's album Short n' Sweet has been a chart mainstay in the U.K. since its release in August 2024. The LP has spent two non-consecutive weeks at No. 1 and remained in the top 10 for 24 weeks and counting. Three songs from the collection – 'Espresso,' 'Please Please Please' and 'Taste' – have all charted at No. 1 on the Official Singles Charts. Charli XCX leads all nominees at the BRITs 2025 with five nods across an array of categories. Ezra Collective, Dua Lipa, and The Last Dinner Party all gathered four nominations. Carpenter's competition in the international categories will come from Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, Chappell Roan, Billie Eilish, Kendrick Lamar, and more. Announced BRIT performers Carpenter, Shaboozey, and Swims all performed at the Grammy Awards on February 2. Carpenter sang 'Espresso' and 'Please Please Please' in an elaborate production number. Her presentation ranked high on Billboard's list of the night's best performances. Shaboozey performed 'Good News' and 'A Bar Song (Tipsy)' in an extended medley of songs by best new artist candidates. That medley also featured Swims singing 'Lose Control.'
