Ackman has a net worth of £6.75billion through his role as founder and CEO of Pershing Square Capital Management.
The New York native has previously shared the court non-competitively with names such as Roger Federer and Stefanos Tsitsipas.
Ackman will be joined by Jack Sock, a former tennis pro who peaked at No8 in the singles rankings, and won three Grand Slam doubles titles, including two at Wimbledon.
Ackman said via X: "I am playing the best tennis of my life and Jack is one of the greatest doubles players ever.

"If we win, I am pretty sure I will be the oldest person in tennis history at 59 to win ATP points."
Ackman is just wide of the mark with that claim thanks to Gardnar Mulloy, who held an ATP doubles ranking at the age of 64.
Ackman was initially set to partner tennis maverick Nick Kyrgios after the Aussie suggested they pair up for an ATP event, however, the pro suffered an injury that ruled him out of contention.
Sock had officially stepped back from tennis to focus on pickleball, but stepped in to partner Ackman - despite only first meeting him last week.

It was Sock's request for a wildcard place for the duo that allowed them to participate in the tournament, where they will be sponsored by Nike.

Sock previously won the doubles event at the Hall of Fame Open in 2021 alongside partner William Blumberg.
They will play Australian duo Omar Jasika and Bernard Tomic in the round of 16, with the latter previously having reached a career high single ranking of No17.
A victory over the Aussies would win both players 25 ATP ranking points alongside a cash prize of almost £1,500 - which Ackman says would go to Sock.

Glamorous TV reporter shows off shocking injuries after getting hit by ball during MLB game

A glamorous TV reporter has given an insight into the painful injury which she suffered while covering an MLB game. FOX Sports North's Audra Martin is a regular on the sideline for the Minnesota Twins or Minnesota Wild for the TV network. However, during a recent visit to a Twins game, she was hit in the abdomen by a wayward ball and later took to Instagram to reveal the damage which it had done. Martin shared a side-by-side of her midsection - one from 'one day' after the incident and the other 'five days later' - and showed off the immense bruising and swelling. In a caption to the post, she wrote: 'Ever wondered what a line drive foul ball to the gut looks like?? 'Thankfully I'm kinda squishy in the midsection... That's probably the only time I've ever said that!' Martin is an American sports journalist who works as a field reporter and anchor for FOX Sports North, where she covers the Minnesota Wild and the Twins. She joined the team nearly 10 years ago and has previously come close to suffering an injury - but had, previously, narrowly avoided it. In 2017, she reportedly used a notebook to deflect a foul ball heading in her direction. Fans quickly swarmed to her comment section to wish her well after suffering the brutal injury. 'Holy moly! You forgot to duck!!!', one wrote with a string of concerned emojis accompanying it.

'This is not a fulfilling life': Scheffler questions why he chases majors

Long-time world number one Scottie Scheffler is chasing his second major of the year and fourth of his career at Royal Portrush but admits every day he questions why. The most successful and consistent golfer of the last four years appeared to be having some kind of existential crisis as he spoke to the media at Royal Portrush on Tuesday ahead of the 153rd Open Championship – for which he is favourite. Scheffler said winning golf tournaments, which he has done 21 times at various levels – including an Olympic gold medal last year – did not satisfy him. 'This is not a fulfilling life. It's fulfilling from the sense of accomplishment but it's not fulfilling from a sense of the deepest places of your heart,' the 29-year-old American said. 'There's a lot of people that make it to what they thought was going to fulfil them in life, and you get there, you get to number one in the world, and they're like, 'What's the point?' 'I really do believe that because, what is the point? Why do I want to win this tournament so bad? That's something that I wrestle with on a daily basis. 'Showing up at the Masters every year it's like, 'Why do I want to win this golf tournament so badly? Why do I want to win The Open Championship so badly?' 'I don't know because if I win it's going to be awesome for two minutes, then we're going to get to the next week and it's, 'Hey, you won two majors this year; how important is it for you to win the FedEx Cup play-offs?' 'It feels like you work your whole life to celebrate winning a tournament for like a few minutes. It only lasts a few minutes, that kind of euphoric feeling.' Scheffler has won three times this year, has one runner-up finish and eight other top-10s in 15 events. He has not finished outside the top 25 this season, not missed a cut since the FedEx St Jude Classic in August 2022 and has PGA Tour career earnings of nearly US dollars 88million (£65.4m), but admits if golf ever started impacting his family he would immediately quit. 'I'm blessed to be able to come out here and play golf, but if my golf ever started affecting my home life or it ever affected the relationship I have with my wife or my son, that's going to be the last day that I play out here for a living,' he added. 'This is not the be-all and end-all. This is not the most important thing in my life. That's why I wrestle with, why is this so important to me? 'Because I'd much rather be a great father than I would be a great golfer. At the end of the day, that's what's more important to me.' Gassama, 21, bolsters an area where Rangers have desperately needed reinforcements. And crucially, he's in the door before the Champions League qualifiers against Panathinaikos get under way in a week's time. The exit of loan star Vaclav Cerny made signing wide players a priority this summer for the Light Blues. Gassama, 21, has now arrived from crisis-torn Sheffield Wednesday. The deal had been thrown into some doubt last week, despite Gassama being spotted already wearing Rangers training gear at St George's Park. Owls owner Dejphon Chansiri was apparently refusing to sign-off on the deal amid talks of a takeover of the club, while Gers boss Russell Martin insisted that everything appeared done at the Light Blues' end. Now, it's a done deal. Born in Mauritania, the pacey winger has been capped at under-20 level by France. He spent time in the youth ranks at a number of French clubs before joining Paris Saint-Germain in 2019. Rangers boss Russell Martin opens up on transfer plans as he delivers updates on Dessers and Igamane The winger impressed during the 2021/22 Uefa Youth League, scoring five goals for the club's youngsters during their run to the quarter-finals. Gassama made his senior debut for the Ligue 1 giants in a 4-0 win over Montpellier in May 2022. It was a PSG side that boasted the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi. Gassama was linked with some huge clubs, including Borussia Dortmund, before making a permanent move to Sheffield Wednesday in August 2023. He's gone on to make 84 appearances for the Owls. Gassama was the club's star man last season, winning the club's Player of the Year award. He scored seven goals in 43 appearances. Speaking after the 2-2 friendly draw with Club Brugge, Gers boss Martin confirmed big changes were coming to his squad. 4 He said: 'I expect the squad to look different in a week's time. 'But in a couple of weeks so much can happen in football, so I don't know. 'We definitely want to do more. Also probably some players need to move on as well. 'I don't know the answer but it will definitely look different in a week's time.' Keep up to date with ALL the latest news and transfers at the Scottish Sun football page
