Exclusive: Anees Bazmee reacts to Diljit Dosanjh's exit from No Entry 2
The announcement of 'No Entry 2' left fans feeling both nostalgic and excited. The sequel to the 2005 comedy classic was set to feature Arjun Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, and Diljit Dosanjh, along with a host of female actors. The film was scheduled to go on floors in March, but a shift in the timeline has left the project in limbo, with reports suggesting that Diljit has backed out. It was said that the global star had creative differences with the team, prompting his exit.advertisementHowever, in an exclusive conversation with India Today, director Anees Bazmee confirmed that the issue lies more with scheduling than with creative disagreements. He also expressed optimism that the situation could still be resolved.Addressing the speculation around Diljit's departure, Bazmee said that when there are "big films, it also makes big noise". He further spoke about his interactions with the Punjabi superstar, "Diljit is a fantastic actor. He is a very nice human being. Although I haven't had many meetings with him, we just got together twice. The first time I met him, it was for 10 minutes. I narrated the story to him, and in just two minutes, he was sold. He mentioned how he liked the story, found it fun, and was excited to do it. Diljit also shared that 'No Entry' is one of his favourite films, and he has seen it multiple times. He was actually quite eager to be a part of it."advertisement
Praising the actor-singer's quick decision-making skills, the filmmaker added, "He is a very nice human being, so simple, and I think he will grow on to be a fabulous actor. He is also sharp and smart, as he can make a decision so quickly. I have always admired artists who have such intuition and can grasp the essence of a film in a single sitting. They should know who they want to work with, what roles suit them and can make those decisions swiftly. He did want to do the film, but when I met him recently, we realised there was an issue with the dates. No Entry 2 is going to be a very big film with a huge cast and crew. There are so many actors, and it's important for us that everyone can come together. I think they are figuring out the dates, and I am hopeful it will work out. But whatever happens, it will be for the good. I have that faith for sure."When asked about when he plans to get the film on the floors, Anees Bazmee said, "Bohot jald (Very soon). As soon as we get clearance from everyone, we will start. I have been with Boney ji (producer Boney Kapoor) for 7-8 years now, working on this film. We have seen many ups and downs, but we are on it. I am the kind of person who sticks to his commitment. And when there's love, you don't think of loss and profit. You just want to be together and make a food film. And trust me, it is going to be a beautiful film and a lot of fun. It's still on paper, so many will not know, but I can assure you it's an amazing story." You May Also Like

Rana Daggubati weighs in on Kamal Haasan's Kannada language controversy
Actor Rana Daggubati has commented on the backlash surrounding Kamal Haasan's recent remarks on the Kannada language, which stirred controversy ahead of the release of Thug Life. In an interview with India Today, Rana addressed the growing tendency for outrage on digital platforms. 'Social media has become a place to make an opinion. Earlier, you didn't have that. Anything gets touchy and political quite quickly,' he said. Kamal Haasan faced sharp criticism after he stated at the Thug Life audio launch that Kannada 'was born out of Tamil.' The remark, intended to emphasise cultural unity, sparked outrage among pro-Kannada groups in Karnataka, with some calling for a ban on the film. A formal complaint was also filed against the actor. When asked how actors should navigate such situations, Rana emphasised the need to shift societal expectations. 'If the media and the news, and people become smarter (and understand) that actors are not the ones to advocate for the way society lives, it will be a better place,' he said. 'I think you should look at scholars, politicians and learned men and women to lead a way into society.' He also highlighted the misplaced attention on celebrities over more meaningful contributors to culture. 'You'll never bring a poet to the same stage... If the lens turns towards more important and current things, the country would become a much better place.' Meanwhile, Kamal Haasan has issued a clarification letter to the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce, stating his comments were misinterpreted and made 'out of genuine affection' for the Rajkumar family, adding, 'There is no dispute or debate on the rich legacy of Kannada language.'

This actor smoked 200 cigarettes, became an alcoholic, ate chicken, got addicted to bad habits because..., he is...
Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan, who is known for his calm and simple lifestyle, never used to consume alcohol or eat meat. But he was not always like this; later he made changes in his lifestyle. You'll be shocked to know that Big B was once a chain smoker, and was a big fan of non-vegetarian diet? Yes, you read that right, and it's the Amitabh Bachchan we are talking about. Let's uncover the past of Bollywood's legendary actor. In an old interview with India Today in 1980, Amitabh Bachchan opened up about his past that he was a chain-smoker and an alcoholic and even a non-vegetarian. He revealed that the reason for getting away from these habits was not religious belief but the practical struggle to find vegetarian food while travelling abroad. Interestingly, Amitabh revealed that both his wife Jaya Bachchan and his mother Teji love meat and it never bothered him. He had said, 'I don't smoke, drink, or eat meat. It is not a religious matter, but it is just a matter of taste. In our family, my father is a vegetarian and my mother is not. Similarly, Jaya eats non-veg and I don't. I used to eat meat… In fact, I used to drink and smoke too, but now I have given up all that.' Big B further said, 'In Calcutta I used to smoke 200 cigarettes a day – yes, that's right, 200, but then I quit it after coming to Bombay. I also used to drink alcohol, like anything, whatever we could get our hands on, but a few years ago I decided that I don't really need it. My habits don't give me any problems, except when I am shooting abroad. Then, it becomes difficult to get vegetarian food.' Amitabh revealed his short-tempered nature In the same interview, Amitabh Bachchan openly talked about his non-violent nature, but he admitted that he was a bit angry in his younger days. 'I don't think I am a violent person myself. Nor do I lose my temper often.' He said, 'Of course, I was involved in some fights in my college days, but that's all. Violence on screen is very unrealistic. It should be spectacular, and people accept it as such.' If we talk about the work front, Amitabh Bachchan was last seen in the pan-India Kalki 2898 AD, and after this, he appeared in South cinema in Rajinikanth's Vettaiyaan.
