Lebanon's Abdallah Ondash to feature in main event at ONE Championship show this Friday
Lebanese Muay Thai star Abdallah Ondash is set to feature in the main event of ONE Championship show ONE Friday Fights 112 this Friday, June 13.
Ondash will face rising Thai star Singdomthong Nokjeanladkrabang in a difficult catchweight (57.6 Kg) Muay Thai contest inside Bangkok's iconic Lumpinee Stadium.
The talented 23-year-old Lebanese fighter has proven his courage and skillset in ONE Championship's weekly fight series ONE Friday Fights, picking up a 5-1 record.
Ondash, who owns an impressive overall professional record of 21-2, most recently earned a second-round knockout victory against Thailand's Petlampun Muadablampang at ONE Friday Fights 93 in January.

PSG set to meet Tottenham in UEFA Super Cup
by Naharnet Newsdesk 13 August 2025, 17:48 Paris Saint-Germain get back on the hunt for trophies in the UEFA Super Cup against Tottenham on Wednesday. It's the annual early-season match between the winners of the Champions League and Europa League — and PSG starts as the big favorite. Coming off winning the treble, including the Champions League for the first time, the Qatari-backed team from the French capital will look to bounce back from losing to Chelsea in the final of the Club World Cup in the United States. Facing them at Stadio Friuli in Udine is another London club in Tottenham, which ended a 17-year wait for silverware by winning the Europa League by beating Manchester United in the final. Spurs have a new manager in Thomas Frank but also some big absentees, with attacking midfielders James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski injured and long-time star Son Heung-min recently sold to LAFC. It is Tottenham's first appearance in the Super Cup. PSG has played in it once, losing 9-2 on aggregate to Juventus over two legs in 1996. PSG's players have just returned to training after the Club World Cup, which extended last season to mid-July. Tottenham should be more match-sharp, having played a raft of friendlies including against Arsenal and Bayern Munich.

Lebanese sprinter Marc-Anthony Ibrahim breaks national 400-meter hurdles record
Sprinter Marc-Anthony Ibrahim, 22, broke the national record for the 400-meter hurdles on Saturday at the IFAM Putpost Stadium in Oordegem, Brussels, Belgium, with a time of 48.95 seconds. This earned him the highest score ever recorded by a Lebanese athlete in the World Athletics (the international athletics federation) world rankings, with 1,183 points. "He is making history once again," said Lebanese athlete Aziza Sbaity on her Instagram account. Living in Hadath, in the southern suburbs of Beirut, Ibrahim began competing professionally in 2021. That year, he posted a score of 54.91 seconds on the same circuit. "This improvement of exactly six seconds in four years is significant," he stated. "Between the economic crisis, the pandemic, and the recent war [between Hezbollah and Israel], with bombings occurring just 500 meters from my home, I am proud to be able to be competitive on a global scale." Toward the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo Ibrahim said that he participated in this race in Belgium "without a sponsor": "My club, Let's Run, funds races in Lebanon, and struggles to do so abroad, even though it has managed on occasion." His expenses, which he estimates at "between $200 and $300" for the plane ticket and five days of accommodation in Brussels, were completely paid for "by a friend." "In Lebanon, we do not have the chance to participate in high-level tournaments because we lack the connections to do so, and athletics has no exposure in the country. This is a real problem for taking part in international tournaments," he said. In Lebanon, the young athlete trains at three stadiums in the capital: at Antonine University, whose track is 300 meters, not 400, at the American University of Beirut and at the City Sports Center. The athlete's next goal: the World Athletics Championships, which will take place from Sept. 13 to 21 in Tokyo. To do this, he must be among the top 40 runners in the 400-meter hurdles in the World Athletics world rankings, which are evaluated based on a points system awarded according to athletes' performances and the level of the tournament that will be reviewed "in two weeks." His latest performance has not yet been factored into the world rankings, where he is currently in 67th place. "I should be in the top 50 right now. Last year, I couldn't participate in the Olympic Games because I was 47th. I hope I can qualify this time!" he stated.

Lewandowski to miss game because of hamstring problem
by Naharnet Newsdesk 08 August 2025, 17:34 Robert Lewandowski will miss Barcelona's friendly match on Sunday because of a hamstring problem, the Catalan club said Friday. Barcelona will host Italian club Como in the traditional curtain-raising Joan Gamper Trophy game before its La Liga campaign starts Aug. 16 against Mallorca. "The striker is unavailable for Sunday's game and his recovery will determine his return," the team said in a statement. Lewandowski scored 42 goals total in 52 appearances last season to help Barcelona win the La Liga title. His 27 league goals was second only to Kylian Mbappe's 31. The 36-year-old Poland international is beginning his fourth season at Barcelona.
