Crown Prince attends ICT session within economic vision's second phase workshops
During the session, the Crown Prince highlighted the importance of the ICT sector to Jordan's development, as well as the use of ICT tools to improve the quality and availability of services provided to citizens, according to a Royal Court statement.
His Royal Highness emphasised the need for the public and private sectors to work together to continue developing the ICT industry, in order to boost economic growth and provide job opportunities for young Jordanians.
The Crown Prince pointed to the importance of developing ICT specialties' education programmes at universities, in a way that meets labour market needs, the statement said.
His Royal Highness also noted that initiatives of the National Council for Future Technology are being developed in line with the Economic Modernisation Vision, with the aim of advancing the ICT sector in accordance with the vision's cross-government executive programme.

Graduation of a new cohort from the 'Digital Upskilling and Employment Program'

Samira Al-Zoubi, Secretary General of the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, celebrated the graduation of the sixth cohort from the Coding Academy at the Orange Digital Center in Amman. This also marks the second cohort of the 'Digital Upskilling and Employment Program' scholarship. The program is funded by the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship under the 'Youth, Technology, and Jobs' Project (YTJ), and is implemented by the Digital Skills Association (Digiskills). A total of 49 female and male students completed this cohort, following the graduation of the first cohort earlier this year, bringing the total number of program graduates in Amman to 100 youth, of whom 33% are women. For four months and 640 training hours, the participants were equipped with both technical and life skills to enhance their readiness for the job market. The program has proven its effectiveness, achieving a 100% graduation rate with no dropouts. To date, around 50% of the students have secured employment opportunities, a percentage that is expected to increase in the coming months. Additionally, the graduates supported 25 startups by developing websites for them during their practical training. The Secretary General of the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, H.E. Samira Al-Zoubi, expressed the Ministry's pride in funding and supporting the 'Digital Upskilling and Employment Program' scholarship under the 'Youth, Technology, and Jobs' Project. She emphasized that this reflects the Ministry's commitment to empowering Jordanian youth with digital skills that enable them to enter the job market with confidence and competence. She added that such programs represent genuine career pathways rather than just training stops, as the Ministry continues to collaborate with its partners to create employment opportunities, support entrepreneurs, and foster innovation that contributes to building a competitive digital economy led by Jordanian youth. From her side, Amira Qarqash, Digital Education and Skills Development Manager at YTJ, emphasized that investing in youth is an investment in Jordan's future, and that empowering them with digital skills is key to unlocking employment opportunities and driving economic growth. This program stands as a living example of effective collaboration between the public and private sectors and civil society institutions to build a capable generation ready to lead change. The Chief Corporate Communication & Sustainability Officer at Orange Jordan, Eng. Rana Al-Dababneh expressed her pride in the partnership with the 'Digital Upskilling and Employment Program' scholarship and its achievements, praising the 'Champions of Change' from this cohort and those before them. She added that Orange Jordan, through the Coding Academy at the Orange Digital Center, continues to empower Jordanian youth with the knowledge and skills necessary to build their future. She highlighted that since its launch, the Coding Academy has graduated over 1,000 students, with more than 80% of them joining the job market, confirming the effectiveness of the training model, which integrates technical skills, projects, language, life skills, and practical training. Concurrently with the graduation ceremony, the second specialized job fair was held to connect graduates with companies and institutions seeking qualified youth talent. This provided real opportunities for them to enter the job market and embodied the integration between training and employment, which is one of the program's key objectives.

JCI issues report on challenges of food industry sector
AMMAN — The Jordan Chamber of Industry (JCI) issued the third report of its reform series "Regulatory Challenges Waiting to be Addressed", which was dedicated to the food, catering, agricultural and livestock industries, one of the sectors most closely related to food security and economic stability. According to a statement issued by JCI, the report comes as a continuation of the institutional approach adopted by the JCI to diagnose the most "prominent" regulatory challenges facing the various industrial sub-sectors, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. Also, the report offers practical solutions in line with the priorities of the Economic Modernisation Vision (EMV), specifically in the item "Unlocking Potential". The report noted that the sector, despite its "strategic" importance, is facing challenges at a time when there is a growing need to expand the production base and enhance reliance on domestic inputs. The JCI stressed that addressing these challenges is a national priority and is in line with the priorities of the EMV and the food security strategy, noting that the solutions proposed in the report do not require new budgets or direct financial support, but rather decisions that enhance local production.

ACI exports reach JD4.207b in first 7 months of 2025
AMMAN — Exports from the Amman Chamber of Industry (ACI) rose by 14.9 per cent during the first seven months of 2025, according to statistics data monitored on Wednesday. According to statistical data obtained by the Jordan News Agency, Petra, the chamber's exports, based on certificates of origin it issued, reached JD4.207 billion in the first seven months of 2025, compared with JD3.660 billion for the same period last year. Eight industrial sub-sectors recorded increases in their exports during the reporting period, ranging from 2.5 per cent for therapeutic and medical supplies to 78 per cent for construction industries. Exports from the wood and furniture sector declined by 8.2 per cent, while the packaging, paper, cardboard, and office supplies sector dropped by 7.6 per cent. Four countries—India, the US, Saudi Arabia, and Iraq—accounted for more than half of the ACI's exports in the first seven months of this year, with a combined total of JD2.421 billion. In terms of geographic distribution during the January–July period of 2025, Arab countries topped the list with JD2 billion in exports, followed by non-Arab Asian countries with JD935 million, and North American countries with JD723 million. Exports to EU countries totalled JD252 million, while exports to non-EU European countries stood at JD135 million. Exports to African nations reached JD87 million, South American countries JD37 million, and other destinations JD32 million.
