Scuffle breaks out at end of Club World Cup final as Luis Enrique, Donnarumma confront João Pedro
Chelsea upset PSG 3-0 to win the title, scoring three first-half goals in a match that turned testy with a red card to PSG's João Neves for pulling down Marc Cucurella by his hair, along with six yellow cards.
Enrique was on the field near the center circle and appeared to push João Pedro on the throat. Donnarumma pushed the 23-year-old forward, who fell over.
Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca moved away Donnarumma, a fellow Italian.
"There is a lot of tension, and a lot of pressure. ... There was a whole bunch of pushing going on," Enrique said through a translator.
Enrique said he was trying to separate the players.
'This was just the end result of the pressure from the match, and I do not have anything else to add,' he said.
PSG defender Achraf Hakimi had been gesturing at João Pedro and Chelsea midfielder Andrey Santos.

Ben Jacobs name Chelsea's 'dream target,' shares how likely a move could be
Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers is a 'dream' target for Chelsea this summer according to journalist Ben Jacobs. The Blues have already been busy in the window, and have made three attacking signings in Liam Delap, Jamie Gittens and Joao Pedro. More new faces are expected to follow, and Chelsea haven't ruled out another attacker arriving, whilst they are also said to be in the market for a left sided defender. Morgan Rogers a 'dream' target It's been reported Chelsea want as many as eight or nine attacking options to rotate between next season, meaning there is room for another attacker. Noni Madueke has left for Arsenal, whilst Christopher Nkunku and Joao Felix are expected to depart, with their also questions surrounding Nicolas Jackson's future. Chelsea have been linked with the likes of Mohammed Kudus and Hugo Ekitike, but the Ghana international joined Tottenham, whilst the Frenchman is closing in on a move to Liverpool. Rogers is high on Chelsea's list of transfer targets. (Photo by) Villa star Rogers is another name of interest, although a move for the England international is viewed as difficult given price and his importance to the Midlands club. It's been reported if Villa move for Jackson then Chelsea would respond with an offer for Rogers, and Jacobs has now provided an update. 'Morgan Rogers is a dream target for Chelsea but I am not aware of a way of Chelsea signing him at the moment, even perhaps with Nicolas Jackson being a target for Aston Villa,' he told Chelsea content creator Alex Goldberg as cited on More Stories / Latest News Ben Jacobs name Chelsea's 'dream target,' shares how likely a move could be 18th Jul 2025, 06:45am '£40m could be possible' – Ben Jacobs delivers latest news on Chelsea's attempts to sign defender 18th Jul 2025, 06:30am 'Pivot back' – Journalist says Chelsea could still make move to sign Benjamin Sesko 18th Jul 2025, 06:02am 'Villa have an 'untouchable' tag over Rogers.' Rogers scored 14 goals and registered 15 assists in 54 appearances last season, and would add another brilliant option to Chelsea's exciting attack. Christopher Nkunku could end up staying Chelsea have a number of attackers they could move on in order to create space for Rogers in the squad, although it's possible one could end up staying. Felix is almost certain to leave, whilst the expectation is Nkunku also follows him out of the Stamford Bridge exit door. However, given how he performed at the Club World Cup it's been reported the Frenchman could potentially end up staying, and the Blues aren't in a rush to force him out, although if he had to leave to make room for Rogers, it's likely to be a decision not many would disagree with.

Lamine Yamal to wear Barcelona's iconic No. 10 jersey next season
BARCELONA, Spain (AP) — Lamine Yamal will switch to the No. 10 jersey at Barcelona, the same number Diego Maradona, Ronaldinho and Lionel Messi wore for the Catalan club. 'I'll try to build my own path, but all kids would like to be like them,' Yamal said Wednesday at the club's announcement. 'All three have been incredible players, they're legends, and I'll try to follow in their footsteps.' Having turned 18, Yamal was able to sign the contract extension that he had agreed with Barcelona in May, keeping him in place until 2031. 'My goal is to keep winning and growing,' Yamal said. 'It's the club of my life. It's my home, I've been here since I was 7 years old.' Yamal wore the No. 19 jersey last season. The No. 10 most recently was with Ansu Fati, who will play on loan with Monaco. Yamal, accompanied by his family, received the No. 10 jersey from club president Joan Laporta. The announcement comes after Yamal was criticized for reportedly hiring people with dwarfism as entertainers during his lavish 18th birthday party last weekend. Yamal sidestepped the controversy on Wednesday. 'In the end I work for Barça, but when I'm away from the club's training center, I enjoy my life and that's it,' Yamal said. 'I'm indifferent to both criticism and praise if they don't come from my family or people close to me.' ___ AP soccer:

Leipzig signs Bakayoko, Maksimović and Diomande in triple-transfer blitz
LEIPZIG, Germany (AP) — Three in one day. Leipzig has delivered a statement of intent for the new Bundesliga season by signing Belgium winger Johan Bakayoko, Serbia midfielder Andrija Maksimović, and Ivory Coast youth international Yan Diomande all on the same day. The 22-year-old Bakayoko's arrival from PSV Eindhoven was the last of the three announced by Leipzig on Wednesday, following that of the 18-year-old Maksimović from Red Star Belgrade and Diomande, also 18, from Spanish second-division team Leganés. All three players signed deals through June 2030, the Bundesliga club said. Bakayoko, who had also been a target for Bayer Leverkusen, will wear the number 9 at Leipzig. 'We have had Johan Bakayoko on our radar for a couple of years now and have tried to sign him time and again,' Leipzig sporting director Marcel Schäfer said. 'We're even happier that he's chosen to join Leipzig despite many teams vying for his signature.' Bakayoko helped PSV to back-to-back Dutch league titles with nine goals in 30 league appearances last season, and 12 in 33 the season before. 'With his power, explosiveness, pace and eye for goal, he'll improve our play down the right wing and has his strengths both on and off the ball,' Schäfer said. Maksimović made his professional debut aged 16 in Serbia, then Champions League debut and Serbia debut a year later. He has already played eight games for the national team. 'We've followed his progress closely during his first season at senior level and are convinced he's already ready to take the next step,' Schäfer said of Maksimović. Diomande spent just one season at Leganés after moving from Florida-based club AS Frenzi. He made his league debut against Real Madrid and scored two goals in 10 La Liga appearances for Leganés, which was relegated at the end of the season. 'He's a left winger with outstanding pace, strong dribbling, athleticism and a real eye for goal. On top of that, he never gives up on a ball and plays with great team spirit. With these qualities, he fits perfectly into the type of football we want to play this season,' Schäfer said. Leipzig missed out on European qualification last season and will be targeting a top-4 finish in the Bundesliga to reach the lucrative Champions League. Yussuf Poulsen, who joined Leipzig when it was still in Germany's third division in 2013, has left for promoted Hamburger SV. Other players, including Benjamin Šeško and Loïs Openda, are also candidates to leave. Leipzig was founded in 2009 when energy drinks manufacturer Red Bull bought and rebranded fifth-tier club SSV Markranstädt and financed its rise through the lower divisions. ___ AP soccer:
