Michael Sheen
, well-known for his roles in projects like 'Good Omens', 'Passengers', and the 'Twilight' franchise, has recently opened up about his financial struggles. The Welsh actor got candid about his personal life and shared how he does not have much money left and is suffering from debt.
Michael Sheen opens up about financial struggles
Sheen opened up about suffering financially and how he finds it 'funny' when people refer to him as a multimillionaire. The actor shared with The Times of London that 'It's interesting when people talk about me as a multimillionaire. Because no, I don't have that much money. I mean, I have money compared to lots of people, but this is about juggling debt. I'm still paying off the Homeless World Cup.
It's not like I have all this spare cash.
And there are times I can put money into things and times when I can't.'
More about the Homeless World Cup
The Homeless World Cup, where Sheen donated in 2019, is a sports tournament that is held in order to combat homelessness and to help those who are suffering from it. He also made headlines earlier this year for starting the Welsh National Theatre after the original organisation, National Theatre Wales, lost out on its funding.

The actor shared that 'Arts Council Wales gave National Theatre Wales transitional funding to either wrap up or come up with a plan for the future. And that plan ended up being me running the new organisation. There was an argument if any of that transitional funding should come with us, and that's now been resolved, so we will be in receipt of around £200,000. I am paying for everything else.'
The actor also paid off around 1 million pounds of debt for approximately 900 people in South Wales. In a TV film titled 'Michael Sheen's Secret Million Pound Giveaway', the actor purchased the debt of 900 people and then paid it off by starting his debt acquisition firm. The idea came forth after Port Talbot's last blast furnace unit was shut down, resulting in massive job loss.

(Exclusive) Shweta Pandit: I'll perform Hindustani classical music for the first time in Europe
Shweta Pandit is set to perform at the Limbo Festival in Italy next month. She will be the only Indian performer this year. and will perform Hindustani classical music for a Western audience. Her band includes musicians from Italy and Malaysia. She will also celebrate her birthday in Barcelona. Singer Shweta Pandit is all set to hit a major milestone in her career as she takes the stage at Limbo Festival, a boutique music and wellness festival nestled in the heart of Tuscany, near Lucca, Italy. Scheduled from July 10 to 13, the festival is known for its eclectic mix of music, meditation, yoga, and outdoor activities. 'I'm headlining the global line-up as the only Indian performer/singer, and it's happening in Italy,' Shweta shared. 'Honestly, this is absolutely incredible because it's nothing like what I've ever done before as a vocalist.' While Indian artists have performed at international venues before, Shweta emphasizes that this is unique. 'We travel for concerts internationally, but we always sing to an Indian audience abroad who know our songs and the artists as well. But this is a total western audience that I'm singing for, and it's a huge honor that they invited me to be the only Indian artist this year.' Set to close the festival on July 13, Shweta won't be performing Bollywood numbers, but something much deeper and rooted: Hindustani classical music. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Free P2,000 GCash eGift UnionBank Credit Card Apply Now Undo 'The other interesting part is I'm performing Hindustani classical music for the first time in Europe, and not Bollywood music,' she said. 'It means a lot to me that I'm blessed to take the legacy forward, put together by my grandfather and granduncle Shri Pandit Jasraj ji, to take Hindustani music to the global stage. ' Shweta's band for the Limbo Festival reflects a truly global collaboration — featuring Italian tabla player Francesco Gherardi from Florence, and Malaysian-origin actress-musician Jacelyn Parry, who will be playing the Sapeh, an instrument native to Malaysia. 'This will also be the first time I'm using the Sapeh in my performance,' Shweta revealed. While her concert may be the main event, Shweta plans to celebrate beforehand: 'The Cancerian that I am, I'll be celebrating my July birthday in Barcelona on a Mediterranean cruise.' She closes on a powerful note about what this performance truly signifies: 'I'm representing India on this global stage, and the most interesting part is that the whole audience of 20,000 people, nobody will be Indian. It will only be a Western audience. Usually when we perform abroad, it's to the Indian community of that country. But here, for the first time, I'm singing to a 100% Western crowd, and they will be listening to Indian music on that stage, likely the first time ever.'

Sitaare Zameen Par advance bookings at box office: The Aamir Khan starrer sees slow pre-sales overseas; banks on word-of-mouth boost
Aamir Khan's 'Sitaare Zameen Par', his first film since 'Laal Singh Chaddha' faces a challenging box office journey. Early international pre-sales are slow, with ticket sales significantly lower than Khan's previous hits like 'Dhoom 3'. The film's success hinges on positive word of mouth, as promotional material hasn't generated the expected buzz, and it releases on June 20th, 2025. Aamir Khan is all set to return to the big screen with Sitaare Zameen Par, his first release since Laal Singh Chaddha. While the film carries the weight of expectations and emotional appeal, its early box office indicators—especially in overseas markets—tell a different story. With slow international pre-sales and lukewarm response to its promotional material, the film now pins its hopes on strong word of mouth to deliver at the box office. According to a report in Pinkvilla, the bookings of Sitaare Zameen Par in international markets is not upto the mark. The movie has not even sold 1000 tickets in traditional international markets like Australia and US-Canada for the opening day, 3 days out. If the pace of advance bookings does not increase, the movie may even struggle for a USD 2 million opening weekend. For perspective, the actor's own Dhoom 3 grossed over 8 million over its opening weekend. While Dhoom 3 opened to over USD 8 million internationally, Sitaare Zameen Par is tracking far lower, with under 1,000 tickets sold so far in key markets. At its current pace, the film may not cross USD 2 million in its opening weekend. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Giao dịch vàng CFDs với mức chênh lệch giá thấp nhất IC Markets Đăng ký Undo Now, Sitaare Zameen Par is banking reportedly on strong word of mouth to drive its performance. If it connects emotionally with viewers, the film could see steady growth through positive audience feedback. Positioned as a lighthearted and heartwarming story, it hopes to appeal to family audiences and those seeking feel-good cinema. The trailer and songs of Sitaare Zameen Par haven't generated the expected buzz, falling short of creating strong pre-release momentum. However, Aamir Khan's aggressive promotional efforts have kept the film in the public eye. While awareness around the film is decent, the urgency to watch it in theatres remains low. With audiences increasingly drawn to content that delivers a true big-screen experience, Sitaare Zameen Par will need exceptional word of mouth to drive footfalls post-release. Sitaare Zameen Par releases in theatres on 20th June, 2025.
