Forbes18 hours ago
Together — the critically acclaimed horror thriller starring Dave Franco and Alison Brie— is reportedly coming soon to digital streaming.
Together opened in theaters on July 30 after being acquired by indie studio Neon at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival in January. The officially summary for Together reads, 'Years into their relationship, Tim and Millie (Franco and Brie) find themselves at a crossroads as they move to the country, abandoning all that is familiar in their lives except each other.
'With tensions already flaring, a nightmarish encounter with a mysterious, unnatural force threatens to corrupt their lives, their love and their flesh.'
Rated R, Together is expected to be released on digital streaming via premium video on demand on Tuesday, Aug. 26, according to When to Stream. While When to Stream is typically accurate with its PVOD reports, the streaming tracker noted that Together's studio, Neon, has not announced or confirmed the release date and it is subject to change.
When Together arrives on PVOD, it will cost $24.99 to purchase. Since PVOD rentals typically run $5 less than purchase prices, viewers can expect to rent Together for $19.99 for a 48-hour period. The film will be available to purchase or rent on such digital platforms as Apple TV, Fandango at Home, Prime Video and YouTube.
How Was 'Together' Received By Audiences And Critics?
Together has earned $19.7 million domestically and $2 million internationally for a worldwide tally of $21.7 million to date.
The official production and marketing budgets for Together has not been revealed, although Screen Daily reported that the film was acquired by Neon for $17 million at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival.
Together earned a 91% 'fresh' rating from Rotten Tomatoes critics based on 211 reviews.
The RT Critics Consensus for the film reads, 'Given an extra sinew of authenticity by the metatextual casting of Alison Brie and Dave Franco at the top of their game, Together is a body horror that's as emotionally sticky as it is memorably gnarly.'
In addition, Together earned a 76% 'fresh' Popcornmeter score based on 1,000-plus verified user ratings.
The RT audience summary for the film reads, 'Surging with chemistry from the leads, Together fuses the bizarre with the perturbed, crafting its own sort of alchemy that feels wholly original.'
Written and directed by Michael Shanks in his feature film debut, Together — which also stars Damon Herriman, Mia Morrissey, Jack Kenny and Karl Richmond — is expected to arrive on PVOD on Aug. 26.

Get the new ESPN, Disney+ and Hulu bundle for free with this DirecTV deal

In case you haven't heard, ESPN is launching a new streaming service (also called ESPN), which combines all of its existing channels and streaming platforms in one place. On top of that, for a limited time, you can bundle it with Disney+ and Hulu for $29.99 per month or $299.99 for a year. But if you want to know a secret, there's actually a way to get this brand new ESPN bundle for nothing. Zero dollars. DirecTV is currently offering subscribers who also use their Gemini device a totally free subscription to the Disney+, Hulu and ESPN bundle. The folks at DirecTV will just go ahead and add it to your plan. That's right, any DirecTV Signature pack subscriber with Gemini will see this bundle added to their subscription starting roughly around September 1. At that point, existing customers will receive the Disney+, Hulu and ESPN bundle, and once it's added, you simply need to activate it. For even more information about what you can expect to see on the new ESPN streaming service, check here and learn more about Disney+ and Hulu's upcoming "unified app" now. And in the meantime, here's what you need to know about how to take advantage of this super streaming deal. Disney+, Hulu and ESPN bundle free deal: Starting on August 21, all DirecTV Signature Pack customers who also use a Gemini device will get Disney+, Hulu and ESPN Unlimited included in their subscription at no additional cost. Without DirecTV, the new Disney+, Hulu, ESPN bundle is currently available for a promotional rate of $29.99/month for a limited time, and will eventually cost $35.99/month after the promotional rate expires. Subscribers will receive an email with activation instructions sometime between August 21 and September 1 to start enjoying their new bundle. What Is Gemini? DirecTV's Gemini streaming device is a device that can be added to any DirecTV plan, and works like a smart TV (or more accurately, like an Amazon Fire Stick) connecting viewers to 4K HD DirecTV programming and streamlining all DirecTV content, including third-party apps like Disney+, ESPN, Hulu, and more, so you can find them all in one place. Gemini devices cost around $10/month on top of your DirecTV Signature package subscription. What is the new ESPN streaming service? ESPN's new streaming service, simply (and yet confusingly?) called ESPN, launched on August 21. The service will be divided into two tiers: the ESPN Unlimited package and the ESPN Select package. ESPN Unlimited – which is part of the DirecTV Disney Bundle – includes access to all of ESPN's linear networks: ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, SECN, ACCN, ESPNews and ESPN Deportes, plus access to programming on ABC, ESPN+, ESPN3, SECN+ and ACCNX. The other tier of ESPN's streaming service is ESPN Select, which is essentially the new name for ESPN+. That service provides exclusive access to many events, and will simulcast certain sports that air on other channels, but will not feature the robust programming of Unlimited.

Following Made by Google, is it time for companies to retire live smartphone launch events?

Ryan Haines / Android Authority 🗣️ This is an open thread. We want to hear from you! Share your thoughts in the comments and vote in the poll below — your take might be featured in a future roundup. So, yesterday, Google launched the Pixel 10 series. While the phones are intriguing if not spectacular, it's the livestreamed event that remained seared into my brain when I woke up this morning. The Made By Google event, which was broadcast live and hosted by talk show host Jimmy Kimmel, featured various sports stars, celebrities, and Googlers. That sounds great, right? Well, it definitely was an experience. To be fair to Google, I've had my qualms with live smartphone launch events for years, whether in attendance or watching a stream. But following Made by Google, I think now's the time to ask an important question: do we still need these live smartphone launch events? Don't want to miss the best from Android Authority? Set us as a preferred source in Google Search to support us and make sure you never miss our latest exclusive reports, expert analysis, and much more. For those in the 'absolutely not' camp, Google's Pixel 10 embargo broke an hour before, so any keen-eyed readers would've been privy to the official news well before. The launch event showcased little we didn't already know (besides the glimpse of what could be a new Google speaker), and what wasn't already covered previously. Some may argue that Google's budget for the event could go towards more practical marketing methods. Alternatively, it could forego the entire thing and publish a prerecorded video series detailing the new features in a more grounded manner. But those in favor could suggest that the event probably wasn't designed to appeal to the majority of us Android 'nerds.' Lando Norris, Alex Cooper, Jonas Brothers, and Steph Curry fans had plenty to cheer about. Google also spent plenty of time courting iPhone users over to the Android side. Ultimately, I'm curious about where you — the consumer — stand on live smartphone events, especially as the target audience for these shindigs. Here are some more questions: Did you watch the Made by Google event? If so, what did you think of it? Do you think Google spent enough time describing and explaining the new Pixel 10 and other product features? Would you prefer it if companies announced products via prerecorded videos, press releases, partnerships with celebrities or creators, hands-on experiences from journalists, or live events with keynotes from company officials? Do you believe Google's event did an effective job of courting iPhone users over to Android? What do you think Google should do with the Pixel 11 launch? Be sure to vote in the poll below, too! What did you think of Made by Google 2025? 1226 votes It was quite good actually! 18 % It was a bit cringe, but at least it was a little different. 31 % What did I just watch?! 51 % 👇 And if you have a specific comment related to your poll choice, or want to answer any of the questions posed above, be sure to have your say in the comments below. Woman Wants to Skip Her Best Friend's Wedding Because It's on Her Birthday: 'My Day Matters Too'

"I was excited at first, but when I realized the date, I felt a little hurt," the woman wrote on Reddit NEED TO KNOW A woman is considering skipping her best friend's wedding because it's taking place on her birthday "My day matters too," she argued as she shared the dilemma on Reddit Reacting to her post, many readers told the woman it would be "selfish" and "petty" to miss her friend's wedding A woman is contemplating skipping her best friend's wedding because it's taking place on her birthday. The woman detailed her dilemma in a recent post on Reddit, explaining that her best friend is set to tie the knot next month. She said she was "excited at first," but then found out the date of the wedding — her birthday. "When I realized the date, I felt a little hurt because I thought she would at least ask me if it was okay," the OP (original poster) wrote. "I brought it up, and she said it was the only date that worked for the venue." Despite this, the OP proceeded to tell the bride-to-be that she "might skip" the wedding because she wants to celebrate her own special day with family and other friends. "She got upset and said I was being selfish," the OP recalled of the conversation. The OP said the situation has left her feeling torn. "I don't want to ruin our friendship, but I also feel like my birthday matters too," she concluded her post, asking fellow Redditors, "AITA [am I the a------] if I don't go?" In the comments, readers were blunt in their assessment of the OP's stance, with some saying it would be "petty" and "selfish" of her to miss her best friend's big day. "A wedding is a milestone. A lifetime event. A birthday is a celebration that happens every year," one person wrote. "If you're really her best friend and you actually cared for her, you'd be happy that a special day for her and for you both landed on the same day, and you'd be thrilled to spend that day seeing her enter the next chapter of her life." They added: "Here, it just sounds like you expected her to move her big day because it was inconvenient for YOU. And you're then punishing her by not going." Another commenter said: "Your birthday is ... checks notes ... every year. This is her wedding. If you're not going to your best friend's wedding because of this, then you're a crappy friend." Taking the bride's side, someone else pointed out how scheduling and planning a wedding can be a complicated process — and urged the OP to consider this. "I doubt your friend sat down with her calendar and tried to find a way to make it on your birthday. Weddings are complicated events," they wrote. "Maybe their dream location is only available on your birthday. Or maybe their preferred caterer only has the availability that weekend." Never miss a story — sign up for to stay up-to-date on the best of what PEOPLE has to offer, from celebrity news to compelling human interest stories. Yet another commenter agreed, also noting that it would be near-impossible for a bride to pick a date that's perfectly suitable for each and every one of her guests. "Expecting someone to schedule their wedding around guests' birthdays is insane. If you imagine a guest list of 100 or so people, you could well find that you're locking out a third of the year if that was considered essential. And then there are people's anniversaries they'd have to consider," they said. Read the original article on People Solve the daily Crossword
