Airborne jumping castle incident: Children injured, school speaks out
Screams erupted at Laerskool Protearif's Proteafees music festival on Saturday, 31 May, when a strong gust of wind lifted a jumping castle into the air, flinging two children to the ground and leaving them injured.
The terrifying incident, captured on video and widely shared on social media, left festivalgoers and the broader Krugersdorp community shaken.

According to a statement issued by the school, both children were treated in hospital and have since been discharged – one on Saturday and the other on Tuesday, June 3. Trauma counselling was provided not only to the injured children but also to fellow learners who witnessed the incident.

Laerskool Protearif also confirmed the incident publicly on their Facebook page.
The News reached out to Gauteng Department of Education (GDE) spokesperson Steve Mabona for comment, but no response has been received at the time of publication.

Drunk Presley Chweneyagae clips go viral after booze, party claims
Shortly after Warren Masemola made indirect comments about Presley Chweneyagae's love of partying and alcohol, a clip of the late actor intoxicated at a groove resurfaced on social media. Masemola spoke about his late industry colleague at his funeral service on Saturday, 7 June. The 40-year-old was married to his wife, Charlaine, the mother of his children. His cause of death was attributed to 'natural causes'. During his tribute, Warren Masemola revealed that while he was close friends with Presley Chweneyagae, the pair often quarrelled about prioritising family over bad friends. He said, 'My friend and I fought a lot. I don't understand people who don't fight with their friends and the people who they love. Warren hinted at Presley Chweneyagae's love of partying and booze. He recalled a time when he travelled to Pretoria to pick up Presley – presumably at the request of his wife – as 'he was being a nuisance' He told funeral-goers: 'He dodged me, I found him at Stasie Kombuis [popular groove in Pretoria].' Warren added that he found Presley with a group of friends who didn't have his best interests at heart. He added: 'You owe it to yourself to talk to the one you love and say, 'Please, you have children at home. Go home. Your family needs you.' Lowvelders sip and savour on local selections at Unwined
Lowvelders sip and savour on local selections at Unwined Lowvelders sipped away on SA's best wines at Mbombela Golf Club on Saturday. This was the biggest Unwined event yet with over 600 people attending and 27 South African wineries from the Cape represented. Attendees were welcomed with a complimentary wine glass and a bottle of water from one of the main sponsors, Valpré. Small tables and chairs invited the guests to sit and enjoy the beautiful view over the mountains and fill their glasses with new and unknown flavours. Big names like Jakkalsvlei, Beyerskloof, Nederburg and Durbanville Hills were among the wineries the guests tasted from. ALSO READ: Music and wine under the African night sky with Kruger Untamed The atmosphere was vibrant with live music from local band, Havanna, and people enjoying the afternoon with family and friends. Food stalls like Halloumi Hub, Johnny's Fries and Prego House paired well with the wines and kept guests wanting more.
