Nvidia-Backed SandboxAQ Introduces New AI Medical Data

SandboxAQ, an artificial intelligence (AI) startup backed by Nvidia (NVDA), released new data today that could help drug makers develop new medicines. This data includes details on how drugs connect to proteins, which could help scientists better determine the effectiveness of a treatment.

Interestingly, this data doesn't come from years of lab research. Instead, SandboxAQ produced it with the help of Nvidia's processors. This allowed it to create simulated synthetic molecules based on real-world data.
SandboxAQ believes the information gleaned from these virtual tests of proteins will assist with training AI models. These models could then aid scientists as they research new medical treatments. Nadia Harhen, general manager of AI simulation at SandboxAQ, told Reuters that this will allow researchers to 'use the synthetic data in a way that's never been done before.'
What Does This Mean for Nvidia?
First off, Nvidia is already a backer of SandboxAQ, meaning it wants to see the company succeed. The introduction of new data to train AI models is a boon to NVDA, as it is the world's leading provider of graphics processing units (GPUs) used in AI servers.
The more uses there are for AI, the higher the demand for AI servers. That will also push demand for Nvidia's products higher, boosting its business and potentially further securing its dominance in the AI sector.
Recent analyst coverage backs up this idea. Five-star Barclays analyst Thomas O'Malley reiterated a Buy rating and increased his price target for NVDA stock to $200 from $170, suggesting a 38.77% upside.

The firm's founder, Andrew Left, called the target "generous." Here's how to update your Nvidia GPU drivers in 5 easy steps

If you want smooth frame rates, stable performance, and access to all the latest features, you're going to need more than just a tip-top GPU, like the RTX 5090. You're also going to need the latest drivers. Graphics cards get driver updates more often than most other components; it's not unusual to get at least one update per month. This is why it's important to learn how to update yours, and also how to roll them back if you run into issues. Fortunately, updating Nvidia GPU drivers is quick and easy. We'll walk you through the entire process below. First, check your PC specs to make sure you're searching for updates for the right GPU. Whether you want to install your first Nvidia GPU driver or update your current one, the easiest way to do this is through the Nvidia App. This is a standalone program that lets you manage your GPU settings, check for driver updates, and more. You can get the app for free from Nvidia's website. You'll have to make an account once you set up the app. Once you've downloaded it, run the program and allow it to make changes to your PC. Follow the steps during the installation. Launch the app and register if required. Next, in the main window, look for the Drivers tab. You'll find it on the left-hand side menu, second from the top. In the Drivers tab, you can check for driver updates. The app will notify you if a new driver is available. You can also scroll down to see the current driver or roll back to a previous version — more on that later. For now, simply click on Download. We recommend first closing all other programs. The software will first download the driver. Once that's done, click on Install. Allow the app to make changes to your device when prompted by Windows. You can now choose between Express installation and Custom installation. We recommend using Express installation. However, Custom lets you perform a clean installation, which means restoring all driver settings to default. This is worth doing if your PC is having problems. In this option, you can also choose whether you want to install additional drivers or software. For most users, Express installation will do just fine, so go ahead and choose that unless you have a specific reason not to. Your screen may go black during the installation. Don't worry about it and just wait it out. Once the installation is over, you're done! You've got the latest Nvidia driver. If, for any reason, you'd rather not download the Nvidia App, you can always download the latest drivers manually from Nvidia's website. Once you're there, choose the lineup your graphics card belongs to. For example, an RTX 4070 would belong to the GeForce RTX 40 Series family. Next, pick your operating system and the language you wish to download the driver in. Download the file and run it. The rest of the process remains the same as outlined above. If your current driver is misbehaving, it could help to get rid of it and go back to an older version. There are a few ways to do this, but we'll outline the most reliable option below. Keep in mind that Nvidia will let you do this in its own software. In the Nvidia app, navigate to Drivers, then scroll down to the bottom. Pick the older driver and choose Reinstall. Open up the Device Manager by right-clicking on the Windows icon on your Taskbar, then selecting Device Manager. Next, click on the arrow next to Display adapters. Select your graphics card. Navigate to the Driver tab and click on Roll Back Driver. This will bring back a previously installed version of your graphics driver. You can also uninstall the driver first and then install a new one of your choice from Nvidia. DDU is a free tool that lets you completely remove your existing driver and perform a truly fresh install. However, the process is a lot more complicated than the two options described above, so we recommend this one for more advanced users — or simply those who are struggling with crashes and poor performance. Download the older driver from Nvidia directly. Download DDU from WagnardSoft. Disconnect from the internet to prevent Windows from auto-installing new drivers. Boot into Safe Mode. Run DDU in Safe Mode. Select your GPU type, then click Clean and restart. In regular Windows, run the driver installer you previously downloaded. Reconnect your internet and reboot your PC. It is possible to do this without disabling your internet connection, but chances are that Windows will automatically download drivers and potentially mess with your whole clean install. That's it — hopefully, now you have a good grasp on how to keep your Nvidia drivers up to date. If you want to go even further, you can follow my guide on replacing your GPU directly right here. CNBC Daily Open: Trump's expanded tariffs mean putting out home fires could be more expensive

Tariff-related ruction appears to be settling down, but U.S. President Donald Trump is still reshaping global trade and industry — and everyday life. After the Trump administration hinted it could be open to Nvidia exporting more powerful chips to China after their revenue-sharing agreement, the semiconductor darling was reported to be developing a new chip for Beijing. And Intel's bounty from the CHIPS Act, formalized by the previous administration under Joe Biden, might come with a price tag of giving the current U.S. government a stake in the company. Other companies that have received funding from the same act — such as Micron and Samsung — may be subject to the same exchange, Reuters reported. Meanwhile, the effects of tariffs continue to creep into the home. The costs incurred by fires in the U.S. — think of the tragic Los Angeles wildfires in January or the one near the Grand Canyon just last month — are already growing, not just in terms of the physical damage but also the price of insurance premiums. And now that Trump has added fire extinguishers to a list of steel products that will face a 50% import tariff, even the price of relatively more benign and contained fires, such as those you start to burn photographs of your ex-partner, will be more expensive to put out. That's a truly protest-worthy tariff. Trump expands reach of steel and aluminum tariffs. The duties, which impose a 50% charge on imports, will include more than 400 additional product categories, such as fire extinguishers, machinery and construction materials. Japan exports sank 2.6% in July from a year ago. That figure is worse than expected, and the steepest decline for the country since February 2021. Shares of the Labubu-maker were up 12.6% at 1:40 p.m. local time (1:40 a.m. ET) Wednesday as investors cheered the firm's announcement on Tuesday of a nearly 400% year-on-year jump in profit. Technology stocks weigh down U.S. markets. The Nasdaq Composite fell 1.46% on Tuesday as shares of Palantir sank more than 9%. Asia-Pacific markets retreated Wednesday, as the region's tech stocks tracked declines on Wall Street. [PRO] UBS raises its forecast for gold — again. Despite the rally for gold stalling since the middle of the year, the Swiss banking giant hiked its 2025 and 2026 target for gold prices. The private equity giant was thwarted in an attempt to buy Assura, a property company that owns more than 600 doctor's surgeries and medical centers. That speaks to a bigger story — which is that U.K. stock market investors have concluded valuations in the country's REIT (real estate investment trust) sector had become ridiculously low.
