What makes a good away day?
After a point secured at St Mirren we are in a stable position - and still undefeated under Jens Berthel the Paisley stalemate the first of three road trips in succession, I was pondering what makes the perfect away I prefer a journey that can be done fairly conveniently rather than what feels like a trip you'd make to go on holiday. For example, the SMISA is a half-four train ride from Motherwell, whereas Pittodrie is a four-hour journey.I have visited a few different stadiums and the most enjoyable away days have been St Mirren, Raith Rovers and Hamilton's New Douglas results don't aren't a make or break factor since I have yet to see Motherwell win at the SMISA or at Stark's Park. The memories made and people met at these games are why they are some of my most enjoyable times following the Steelmen. The pies were also not half bad.I have secured my ticket and bus seat for St Johnstone away in the League Cup this weekend and will be trying to get to Tynecastle the following Saturday too. Both are trips I haven't made before and with luck, we will still be unbeaten.

Can Cardiff 'win anything with kids'?
After an opening day win at home to Peterborough United and a draw at Port Vale, BBC Sport Wales asked Cardiff City fans for their views on the start to the League One "I predicted City would finish 9th this season and after 2 games with sides likely to finish in the bottom half, nothing changes my view. The squad is light, we need a left back, [Jesper] Dalaand should go, a new centre back and [Chris] Willock should go. A winger is needed and another forward if [Callum] Robinson goes. I'm all for us playing local lads but this team isn't good enough to compete at the top. If [Vincent] Tan doesn't sell soon it will be another failed season".Jon: "Although Alan Hansen was proved wrong in his statement that you 'won't win anything with kids', I do think we need some experienced players at left back right, back, creative midfielder and a striker. 46 games is a long time for these academy players and we need a bigger squad with more depth in my opinion. A couple of injuries or suspensions in key areas and we are in trouble. That said, great to see our talented kids coming through to the first team!".Ross: "Reality has set in after a great start against Peterborough, the defence still needs work and reinforcements as it's deficiencies that got us here in the first place".Gary: "No outfield incomers. Very poor at Port Vale. Already guilty of unnecessary team changes, not likely to stimulate player confidence, especially goalkeepers. Will likely end the season above mid-table".Alex: "We look like a mid-table side, which is as expected. Can't understand why we brought in another goalkeeper on loan. Makes you question the manager's judgment".Steve: "We have the right manager for this club. We don't need signings, just belief. In recent years we have invested in young talent only to find they are blocked from the team by panic buys and overrated, over the hill players. This year feels different".

Tiger Woods tipped to make investment in English club after watching Tom Brady's Birmingham transformation
GOLF legend Tiger Woods has been tipped to cross over to football and follow in other celebrities' footsteps by taking over a club. NFL great Tom Brady has enjoyed success with Birmingham ever since investing as minority owner in 2023 with the club currently in the Championship and considered likely to return to the Premier League. 2 2 Wrexham have also experienced a tremendous rise ever since Hollywood celebrity pair Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney were announced as co-owners in 2020. Reynolds and McElhenney led the Red Dragons from the National League all the way up to the Championship where they face Brady 's Birmingham. Blackburn legend Matt Jansen believes there will be more famous people following that trend. Jansen, 47, suggested Woods and NBA legend Michael Jordan could soon be next. The former striker would especially like the PGA great to try his luck in football and strongly advised him to consider Manchester United or his beloved Blackburn amid their ongoing ownership dramas. Jansen told 'I think Tom Brady is a good one. Maybe Michael Jordan or Tiger Woods, people who've been at the top of their sport. "The number one in their sport will always be impressive, and can relate a little bit more to football than the music industry. ' It could be any club for, couldn't it? But the likes of Michael Jordan and Tiger Woods would probably be looking at Liverpool, Chelsea or Man Utd, those kinds of clubs. "They're that big a star. So is Tom Brady, but Birmingham are really putting their money where their mouth is. I think they'll be a force next season. ' They could target clubs in the EFL. Look at what Wrexham started and they've been a success. "It'll be other people putting it to the likes of Michael Jordan or Tiger Woods, rather than them approaching clubs. 'They'll see whether it's worthwhile investing their time. It's certainly worked for the two at Wrexham, and it's worked for Tom Brady at the moment. How far it'll go, who knows? 'I could see them buying Manchester United. The fans are unhappy with [Sir Jim] Ratcliffe at the minute, and there are protests. "You couldn't put it past somebody like that coming in, and his aura could bring success. ' They'd certainly welcome them at Blackburn. They're in a bit of a mess with the Venky's at the moment. "It's a sorry place compared to the great days from Jack Walker's era when I was playing. It's fallen quite far, and they'd definitely welcome some positive publicity. 'I'm a big Tiger Woods fan, so for me a documentary of him at Blackburn or Manchester United would beat any before it. "Woods is a global superstar and it would certainly be one series I'd be looking forward to. It would be incredible if it happened.'
