Nissan will offer its Tesla Model Y rival in both single-motor front-wheel drive and dual-motor all-wheel drive configurations, as well as with a pair of batteries, spread across four variants.
Pricing starts at $55,840 before on-road costs for the base Engage variant, and tops out at $71,840 plus on-roads for the dual-motor all-wheel drive Evolve e-4ORCE flagship.

Electric driving range is between 385km and 504km on the WLTP cycle, depending on the variant.
The Ariya is slightly smaller than the petrol/hybrid X-Trail, measuring 85mm shorter but on a 70mm longer wheelbase. Unlike the X-Trail, it's available only with two rows of seating.
Inside, there are plenty of neat details including soft 'Andon' illumination inspired by traditional Japanese lanterns, woodgrain dashboard trim with integrated touch-capacitive buttons featuring haptic feedback, and an available power-sliding centre console.
The Ariya – first revealed in 2020 before entering production in 2022 – is Nissan's first mid-size electric SUV. It takes on not only the top-selling Model Y, but also the Ford Mustang Mach-E, Hyundai Ioniq 5, Kia EV6, Subaru Solterra, Toyota bZ4X, Volkswagen ID.4 and ID.5, and a raft of Chinese rivals.

Servicing and Warranty
The Nissan Ariya is backed by a 10-year, 300,000km vehicle warranty, provided you service the vehicle at Nissan Australia dealerships. Otherwise, Nissan's standard warranty is five years with no mileage cap.
Its battery is backed by an eight-year, 160,000km warranty.
Nissan offers 10 years of roadside assistance and five years of capped-price servicing, however, it has yet to confirm service pricing.

The Nissan Ariya has a five-star safety rating from ANCAP, though for now this applies only to New Zealand-market variants.

The government has announced after months of speculation, it will include YouTube in its looming social media ban for children, risking a potentially bitter legal battle with Google. The online video service will be classified as an "age-restricted social media platform" under the legislation, alongside Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Tiktok and X. The platforms will face penalties of up to $49.5 million if they fail to block sign-ups and active accounts belonging to users under-16 from December 10. SBS News understands the restrictions placed on YouTube will allow the YouTube Kids platform to operate, and minors are also permitted to watch videos on the website in a logged-out state or under parental supervision. But under-16s will not be allowed to have active YouTube accounts or subscribe to YouTube channels. "There is no one perfect solution when it comes to keeping young Australians safer online – but the social media minimum age will make a significantly positive difference to their wellbeing." Online gaming platforms, messaging services like WhatsApp, health and education services will be spared. Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said the decision was a signal "we stand on the side of families." "YouTube is a video sharing platform, not a social media service, that offers benefit and value to younger Australians," a YouTube spokesperson said on Sunday. Inman Grant in June rejected claims the decision would impact educators and schools. Suzuki Australia has issued a stop-delivery order for the Suzuki Jimny five-door with immediate effect, with dealers across the country instructed by the automaker to cease all deliveries of the iconic compact off-roader until further advice from the automaker's head office in Japan. Attracting a cult-like following, the Jimny is Suzuki Australia's best-selling model, more than doubling the sales of the Swift hatch, the Japanese small-car brand's next most popular model so far this year. It's also one of the more popular entrants in the light SUV segment, in which it competes with the Mazda CX-3, Toyota Yaris Cross and Hyundai Venue. In a dealer bulletin issued on Friday (July 25) and seen by CarExpert, Suzuki retailers were instructed to stop all deliveries of the Indian-built Jimny XL five-door – not the Japanese-made Jimny three-door – including showroom stock and warehoused vehicles, with no specific reason issued.
