BRIGHTON players including Premier League legend James Milner are a step closer to winning MILLIONS with their superstar horse Seagulls Eleven.
Together they have stumped up £40,000 to supplement the horse into Saturday's Group 1 City Of York Stakes.

The mega-money race, worth £377,000 to the winner, is one of the biggest in Ebor week at the northern track with decent prize money all the way down to sixth.
Seagulls Eleven, a three-year-old gelding trained by Hugo Palmer who cost around £50,000, has won two of his ten career races, bringing in just shy of £170,000.
But his next few races could send his winnings into the stratosphere.
Seagulls Eleven, who won more than £57,000 with his most recent victory, a Group 3 at Goodwood earlier this month, is one of 13 in the City Of York.
He is likely to face Group 1 scorer Rosallion and 150-1 record winner Qirat, who returns after his unbelievable Sussex Stakes victory.
Big names including John & Thady Gosden's former Lockinge winner Audience and Juddmonte's Cosmic Year are also in the line-up.
But the races under a mile have been a lottery this season so anything could happen when they jump out this weekend.
And while the cheque on offer at York is massive - far, far greater riches could lie in wait later this year.
After his Goodwood win, Palmer said the £7.4million Golden Eagle in Australia in November was on the agenda.
Interestingly, Brighton owner Tony Bloom won the race last year with Lake Forest and walked off an incredible £2.8m richer.
Palmer said after Seagulls Eleven won at Goodwood that he would likely be supplemented for the City Of York.
And the plan then would be, rather than race at Doncaster and Ascot later this year, to enter quarantine ahead of a trip Down Under.
Speaking of how it all came about, Palmer, who trains football legend Michael Owen's horses, said: "It actually all started at Cheltenham.
"There was a mare called Mrs Milner and Michael suggested to James Milner that he back it.
"He did and it went from there.
"They've bought a few horses and James is the ringleader. There are eleven players, who aren't all at Brighton anymore."
Goalkeeper Jason Steele is another involved with Seagulls Eleven - and he can't wait to see what the future holds.
He said: "It is up to Hugo and the team at Manor House Stables if he goes out to Australia, but the thought of him running there is amazing.
"We have briefly spoken about it in our group chat and Hugo is going to find out more and whatever they want to do, I imagine the lads will support it.
"We have a lot of ties with the Golden Eagle with our chairman Tony Bloom winning it last year with Lake Forest.
"That would be a nice story to go over there and follow that up.
'To say we have owned a horse that has already run at the Curragh, and in America, and potentially Australia is unbelievable."

Arsenal edging closer to completing £60million move for Eberechi Eze

Eberechi Eze's £60million transfer from Crystal Palace to Arsenal could be confirmed as early as this weekend, the PA news agency understands. Eze is set to become Arsenal's seventh signing of the summer after they moved to hijack Tottenham's bid for the England international. Advertisement It is believed the finishing touches on a deal to sign the 27-year-old, which catapults Arsenal's spending to beyond £250m, are all but completed. Eze's stunning move to the Emirates accelerated this week following a knee injury sustained by Kai Havertz. Eze played in Palace's Community Shield victory and their Premier League opener at Chelsea (John Walton/PA) The Germany international came on as a second-half substitute in Arsenal's 1-0 win at Manchester United, and completed the game, but he did not participate in the club's open training session at the Emirates on Wednesday. Sport Tottenham remain interested in Savinho after missi... Read More It is unclear how long Havertz, who is still being assessed, will face on the sidelines. But the hastiness to swoop for Eze is evidence Arsenal did not want to take any chances as Mikel Arteta – backed by sporting director Andrea Berta – bids to lead the north Londoners to their first Premier League title in 22 years. Advertisement Eze is now poised to follow striker Viktor Gyokeres (£55m), defender Cristhian Mosquera (£13m), midfielder Martin Zubimendi (£60m), goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga (£5m), midfielder Christian Norgaard (£10m) and forward Noni Madueke (£48.5m) in making the switch to the Emirates. Martin Odegaard urges patience with 15-year-old teenage sensation Max Dowman as the Arsenal skipper makes pledge to fans with Gunners chasing elusive title

Arsenal skipper Martin Odegaard has urged patience with teenage prodigy Max Dowman after the 15-year-old midfielder impressed during the club's pre-season tour. Dowman has been fast-tracked into Mikel Arteta 's first-team picture after catching the eye against top-level opposition in Asia. He won a penalty in the 3-2 victory over Newcastle United and looked assured on debut against AC Milan in Singapore. The youngster has already received the most eye-catching of comparisons, being likened to Lionel Messi by some over-exuberant Gunners fans. But Odegaard and the rest of Arsenal's senior squad are keen to keep his feet on the ground as he takes his first steps in the first team. 'He's a top player, top talent, and I think everyone has seen it now in pre-season, what he's done,' Odegaard said on the Men in Blazers podcast. 'I don't want to put too much pressure on him and create too much of expectations around him, but we just need to give him time to be himself, to grow and learn. 'Everyone can see the quality. The key thing for us is to help him, support him and make sure he can take it in his own way and his own time. I'm sure he's going to be a great player for us.' Odegaard, who was himself a teenage wonderkid when he joined Real Madrid at 16, believes his own experiences can help Dowman and fellow 15-year-old Marli Salmon adjust to the demands of senior football. 'Life can change really quickly when you get into the first team, so I think I can use that experience to give them some advice here and there,' he said. On his most important piece of advice, he added: 'Telling them to stay focused, work hard and to keep your focus where it has to be. 'When you come through at a young age, there's going to be a lot of expectations and a lot of hype, but you need to stay focused and keep enjoying your football.' Dowman's emergence comes after breakthrough campaigns for Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly last season. Both Hale End graduates featured prominently as term, and Arsenal believe Dowman can follow the same path. Arteta has also spoken highly of the youngster, calling his performances 'special'. The Spaniard was taken aback by how quickly the midfielder has adapted. 'In my day, you would never see a star at 15 ready to play in the Premier League,' he said after the Gunners' win over Milan last month. 'I think they are able to play at that level at 15 because of the environment and culture within the team. 'It gives you the best chance, but then you have to have the qualities this kid has to deliver against opposition like this.' Declan Rice has gone further still, describing Dowman as the best 15-year-old in the country after seeing his impact in training and matches on tour. For Arsenal, the dilemma is how to handle Dowman's development. On one hand, Arteta is eager to integrate him gradually, but on the other, his quality is already such that he could play a role this season. Dowman will sit his GCSEs next spring, potentially at the same time Arsenal are chasing the Premier League title. Arteta's side have finished runners-up three years in a row, and while they are confident Dowman will be one of the next Hale End graduates to make an impact, the captain has also pledged to supporters that the squad will do everything to take the final step. 'We need to take our lessons. We need to get better, we're going to improve day by day, fight and give everything,' said Odegaard. 'We need the supporters, the love and the support throughout the season and I'm sure it's going to be a special one.'

Arne Slot reveals three conditions that must be met to complete Alexander Isak transfer

Alexander Isak's situation at Newcastle remains unresolved as the end of the summer transfer window moves into sight, but Liverpool haven't given up their hopes of signing him Arne Slot has hinted that Liverpool could still pursue a deal for Newcastle striker Alexander Isak in the final days of the summer transfer window. Isak is desperate to leave the Magpies for Liverpool – and it seems he could still get his wish. ‌ The Swedish striker informed Newcastle in late July that he wanted to leave the club, but Liverpool's opening offer of £110million was rejected. He has been stuck in limbo ever since, refusing to play for the Magpies while hoping that the Reds will return with another offer that they can't refuse. ‌ Isak accused his employers of breaking a promise over his exit in a major escalation of the saga earlier this week. And in a twist of fate, the two clubs meet in the Premier League on Monday night at St James' Park. ‌ Liverpool have already spent over £300m on signings this summer and remain in negotiations with Crystal Palace over Marc Guehi. Slot has sold Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz this summer after the tragic passing of Diogo Jota and hinted that a deal could still be done for Isak. Asked if it would be a busy end to the window for Liverpool, Slot told a pre-match press conference: "I don't think [so], because [that would mean] I would be unhappy with the squad and I am happy with the squad we are having. "I say two players for each position is ideal but sometimes less is more so you are not disappointing players. I am happy with the squad but if we think there is a player who can really make us better then this club has always shown they can bring them in. ‌ "But it needs to be everything we want: right transfer fee, right position and the player wants to come to us." Liverpool have two of those conditions in place, with the need for a striker clear and Isak desperate to make the switch. But it remains to be seen whether they can agree the right transfer fee, with Newcastle still publicly insisting that Isak can be reintegrated to the squad. ‌ The Magpies' statement, in response to Isak's, suggested they would sell for the right price, believed to be around £150m. It read: 'As explained to Alex and his representatives, we must always take into consideration the best interests of Newcastle United, the team and our supporters in all decisions and we have been clear that the conditions of a sale this summer have not transpired. We do not foresee those conditions being met.' In the meantime, the two clubs have to focus on playing each other on Monday. 'The main thing we have to be ready for is their midfield, their last line,' Slot said. 'I assume Isak is not playing from what I read in the media. 'But they still have Anthony Gordon as a nine, they still have Anthony Elanga as a right-winger and Harvey Barnes from the left. This is the Premier League – we all have options and Newcastle have them as well."
