Shaq on 'Inside The NBA' leaving TNT: 'Nothing lasts forever'
Shaq on 'Inside The NBA' leaving TNT: 'Nothing lasts forever' The 15-time NBA All-Star and current commentator speaks with Yahoo Sports senior NBA reporter Vincent Goodwill about the show's end with the network as it leaves for ESPN beginning next season. Hear the full conversation on 'Good Word with Goodwill' and subscribe on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube or wherever you listen. View more Video Transcript This iteration of Inside the NBA. Advertisement I know you guys had the documentary after the game of Game 4. Just what are your emotions? Are you emotional about what this iteration could potentially going somewhere else? How do you feel about it? There's a lot of people in Atlanta, a lot of people in that Turner family. What emotions come up for you? I realize nothing lasts forever. And at some point change is inevitable. Growing up in the military. Uh, family. I'm used to doing something every 4 years. So I've been in Turner for 12 years. I did 3 terms at Turner. I was telling me to do something else. You know, I don't really get emotional. I'm just thankful and blessed to have the opportunity. Advertisement I'm glad that we're still going to be working together at some capacity, and it's a challenge for us to build something new. We're not going to be doing that show anymore, but us 4 still going to be together. And the good thing we're still going to be shooting in our studio in Atlanta. Somebody's gonna lease our show. So, yeah, it's just not gonna be called inside the NBA on TNT anymore. So we don't know if they're gonna call it inside the NBA on ESPN, but I know for a fact Charles ain't changing. I'm not changing and Ernie's not changing. So ESPN better get ready for all the jokes, all the, all the borderline jokes, all the comforts. Advertisement And hopefully we don't have to make too many apologies. So I think the, the, the title of the show is gonna change, but I think it would be a different question if you're saying, Ernie was going here, I'm going there, rucks and like you don't see us 4 together, but I think all the guys have signed and you will see us together. And it's my understanding, we will be shooting from the same like so our routines are the same. Nothing changes for us. I just think the title of the show, but nobody knows what it's gonna be. But I know when you got us 4 together, we create magic. Big man, appreciate you as always, man. I hope to see you in the finals, brother. All right, thank you, brother.

Goth Icon, 67, Cancels Comeback Tour Over ‘Health Issues'
Goth Icon, 67, Cancels Comeback Tour Over 'Health Issues' originally appeared on Parade. As the lead singer of post-punk band Bauhaus, Peter Murphy became a goth legend in the late 1970s and early 1980s with now-iconic songs such as "Bela Lugosi's Dead," "Kick In The Eye," and "She's In Parties." The band, which also included Daniel Ash, David J and Kevin Haskins, helped lay the foundation for goth music with their distinctive image and haunting sound (aided by Murphy's distinctive baritone voice. After Bauhaus disbanded, Muphy embarked on a solo career, while the other members formed Tones on Tail and Love and Rockets. Murphy achieved commercial success in 1990 with "Cuts You Up," which peaked at No. 60 on the Billboard Hot 100. He has continued to perform and tour, even with Bauhaus from time to time—including a short-run reunion in 2022. However, Murphy has struggled with health issues in the past. And he was planning to tour this summer in support of his new solo album, Silver Shade. But on Monday (June 2), he announced he was canceling all dates. "It is with regret that, due to recent health issues, I will be unable to perform for you this summer," Murphy wrote on social media. "I am very much saddened by this news. This situation is hopefully temporary, and we will be able to announce shows in support of Silver Shade at some point in the near future." "Thank you so much for your patience and understanding. Love Peter x," he added. In 2019, Murphy was in the middle of a two-week residency in New York City when he suffered a heart attack. He underwent angioplasty and had two stents implanted in his heart. "After seeing myself go through the rigors of intensive care, I am very happy to say that I have made a full recovery," he said after the surgery. The goth icon has also dealt with substance abuse issues. Bauhaus's 2022 reunion was cut short when Murphy entered a rehabilitation facility "to attend to his health and well-being," per Stereogum. In 2013, Murphy was arrested in Los Angeles for a DUI, hit-and-run, and possession of crystal meth. The Glendale News-Press reported that he was sentenced to three years of probation and to attend 45 days of Narcotics Anonymous Icon, 67, Cancels Comeback Tour Over 'Health Issues' first appeared on Parade on Jun 2, 2025 This story was originally reported by Parade on Jun 2, 2025, where it first appeared.

Goth Icon Shares New ‘Dramatic' Version of Hit Song
Goth Icon Shares New 'Dramatic' Version of Hit Song originally appeared on Parade. Few are more synonymous with goth—be it music, fashion, or lifestyle—than Robert Smith of The Cure. Since forming in the '70s, The Cure has pioneered the dark, brooding, romantic rock sound that defined goth music. The band released now-classic albums like Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me and Disintegration, while becoming part of the 1980s and '90s music tapestry with songs like "A Forest," "Just Like Heaven," "Close To Me," "Boys Don't Cry," and "Friday I'm In Love." In 2024, The Cure pulled off the impossible: release a new album that's as good as one of its classics. Songs of a Lost World received widespread critical acclaim and was on many publications' "Best of 2024" year-end lists. Now, fans can revisit the album with the upcoming remix album, "Mixes of a Lost World." The collection, arriving on June 13, features remixed versions of Songs of a Lost World courtesy of electronic artists such asFour Tet, Orbital, Trentemøller, Paul Oakenfold, and more. Deftones frontman Chino Moreno (who dabbles in goth/dark electronica with this Crosses project) will also have a remix on the album. Electronic duo Daybreakers have transformed "Warsong" from a 4:17 track to a six-minute synth and bass extravaganza. This new version "has a real sense of drama," Smith told Billboard. "The breakdowns are simple, but far-out, and the vibe is cool, but urgent. It is one of my favorites on the [remix] album." Smith also told Billboard that The Cure has "a colorful history with all kinds of dance music, and I was curious as to how the whole album would sound entirely reinterpreted by others." "To be chosen to do a remix is a great honor," Daybreakers told the publication. "Being included on the remix album alongside such a great variety of talented artists and producers is a huge privilege." "Additionally," they add, "with all of The Cure's recording royalties being donated to the WarChild UK charity, it really is for a wonderful cause."Goth Icon Shares New 'Dramatic' Version of Hit Song first appeared on Parade on Jun 11, 2025 This story was originally reported by Parade on Jun 11, 2025, where it first appeared.
