Who is the one UDFA fans should watch on the Bucs?
Every team has a rush to sign UDFA's after the NFL Draft ends every year as they look to grab what talent falls through the cracks each year.
PFF identified one player for each team who could be the diamond in the rough from each team's class, and for the Bucs, they tagged center Jake Majors. The former Longhorn is a dominant SEC offensive lineman who went undrafted and is now playing with a chip on his shoulder for the Bucs.
There is nothing better to help an offensive lineman attitude.
PFF writes about Majors, saying, "A backup role is fully in the cards for Majors, who logged an impressive 3,749 snaps in his college career, while Graham Barton, whom the Buccaneers drafted in the first round last year, is locked in as their starting center for the foreseeable future. Majors was the only Power Five center to play 750 or more pass-blocking snaps over the past two seasons and not allow any sacks. He has what it takes to slot in for Tampa Bay should Barton get moved around the line or suffer an injury."
Even if Barton doesn't go down, as PFF suggests could happen as the NFL always likes to throw curveballs at us, he could also fill in at guard if needed.
Having offensive lien depth is an underrated asset for every team. The best teams each year have it so when one player goes down they don't lose a step, the Bucs are starting to realize that.

The Kansas City Chiefs have one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL in Trent McDuffie.

The Kansas City Chiefs have one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL in Trent McDuffie. originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Kansas City Chiefs were in the middle of the road this past season in terms of passing yards allowed, but their secondary still has some very bright spots. Advertisement In a recent article by PFF's John Kosko, he ranks who he believes are the top 32 cornerbacks in the NFL heading into the 2025 season. At No. 3, he has Chiefs young star Trent McDuffie. "McDuffie, the highest-graded cornerback in PFF's advanced metrics in 2024, has been highly underrated to start his career," Kosko wrote. "His PFF advanced coverage grade ranks second across the past three years — and first across the past two years... The Chiefs don't ask McDuffie to shadow opposing receivers, but his ability to stay tight in coverage is elite." Some look at the fact that McDuffie didn't have an interception in his first two seasons and write him off, but he does so much more than that. In three seasons in the NFL, the 24-year-old cornerback has racked up an impressive 183 total tackles, and he has been able to show his versatility with 4.5 sacks. Where he shines is his ability to effectively lock up wide receivers, as he finished 2024 with a very solid 13 passes defended. Advertisement The Chiefs lost in the Super Bowl to the Philadelphia Eagles this past season, so McDuffie and the rest of the team's defense will be looking to help lead the team back to the playoffs to redeem themselves. Pro Football Focus lauds Notre Dame's linebacker unit

AI-assisted summary Pro Football Focus ranks Notre Dame's 2025 linebackers as the fifth-best unit in the nation. Is Notre Dame suddenly becoming Linebacker U? Pro Football Focus is very high on the 2025 group, ranking the Fighting Irish 'backers as the fifth-best unit in the nation ahead of the new season. Despite losing veteran Jack Kiser, junior Drayk Bowen is back. Per PFF's wins above average metric, no returning FBS linebacker was more valuable than him last year. The Indiana native finished with 78 tackles and three forced fumbles in 2024. He should be one of the nation's best Mike 'backers this fall. Also back is Jaylen Sneed, a redshirt junior who had six tackles for loss and earned a 70.8 grade on 433 snaps in 2024. Jaiden Ausberry played over 400 snaps, earning a 69.6 run-defense grade, and had 6.5 tackles for loss. And there are high expectations for true sophomore Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa, who earned a 67.6 PFF grade on 343 snaps as a freshman after being the No. 4 linebacker in the 2024 high school class. He earned Freshman All-America honors after registering 37 tackles (2.5 tackles for loss). He will likely back up Bowen or compete for the starting Will spot. Malik Hooker Avoids Major Injury During OTAs

Malik Hooker Avoids Major Injury During OTAs originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Dallas Cowboys continued their offseason program this past Tuesday and there were some notable takeaways during the OTA practice from inside The Star, where Mike Fisher was present. Advertisement Promising young defenders DeMarvion Overshown and Sam Williams were working with the rehab group as they push towards returning to the field this season. Elite wide receiver George Pickens sported his new No. 3 jersey and made plays all over the field. Now for the bad news. While the Cowboys are anticipating the return of several key players, starting safety Malik Hooker suffered an injury that forced him to leave practice early. We now are told that Hooker was dealing with back spasms and the word is that the defensive back will be fine for Thursday's OTAs. Hooker is arguably one of the Cowboys' most underrated players and has brought stability and playmaking to the free safety position since his arrival in 2021. Advertisement The former Ohio State Buckeye was selected 15th overall in the 2017 NFL Draft by the Indianapolis Colts. Hooker has always been an undeniably talented football player but a devastating torn Achilles in 2020 with the Colts was a setback. Hooker was recently ranked as a top 20 safety in the NFL by PFF's Zoltan Buday—further proving his value to the Cowboys. Buday ranked the top 32 players at the safety position but noted Hooker declined in 2024. "Following two strong seasons in which he ranked among the top 15 safeties in PFF overall grade, Hooker's play declined this past season. The Ohio State product's 65.3 PFF overall grade ranked only 42nd at the position. However, over the previous two seasons, he combined to allow just 19 receptions and three touchdowns in coverage,' Buday wrote. Advertisement With Matt Eberflus now in the fold as the new defensive coordinator in Dallas, Hooker will be in a system he is familiar with—one that will hopefully allow him to tap into his early career success. ... as he pushes on with good health.
