Dan Ewing has stunned fans by sharing a shocking before-and-after post to mark his 40th birthday on Tuesday.
The former Home and Away star shared two shirtless bathroom selfies to social media to showcase his dramatic weight loss progress over the past year.
In the before photo, Dan looked downbeat as he showcased his bloated stomach, while the second picture taken a year later showed him looking significantly more muscular and upbeat.
He captioned the gallery with some revealing words: 'This is 40. But more importantly, that second photo was 39.'
'Exactly one year ago today. A depressed alcoholic. Crushed by internal trauma. Existing, not living. I'd love to say that on that day, I had the courage to change.'

Dan then opened up about how he turned his life around in the space of six months.
'It took hitting absolute rock bottom at the end of 2024. That's when the universe finally said "enough" and it took the wheel from me,' he wrote.
'From that rock-bottom came the decision to get sober - and that one choice changed everything.
'It snowballed into a deeper love for myself, into true connection with the source - God, universe, whatever name you give this sacred, powerful energy we are all part of.'
He added his good fortune had significantly improved after he gave up alcohol.
'None of that would have happened without that hard first decision. That moment I asked for help,' he wrote.
'Sobriety didn't just transform my life. It allowed me to show up fully - for my family, friends and everyone I encounter. To serve in the way I was always meant to.'
Dan has long been open with fans about his past struggles and in 2021 he revealed he suffered from anxiety and would use alcohol to cope with his newfound fame after joining the cast of Home and Away in 2007.

In an interview with the ImperfectlyPerfect Podcast, the actor admitted he found being thrown into the spotlight challenging.
'I really struggled. I was just some kid from the Northern Beaches, so then to shoot to fame on the biggest show in Australia in Home and Away... I wasn't ready,' he confessed.
'My partner at the time wasn't ready, and I didn't know it at the time, but I was really suffering with anxiety.'
Dan said he turned to alcohol as a coping mechanism for what he was going through.
'I'd just sort of tip all this grog down my neck and get absolutely written off on the weekend,' he explained.
'You disguise it as, "Oh, it's blowing off steam. We all do it" and we all have done it. But for me, I just didn't understand that there was a better way, there was a better process...'
Dan admitted it was 'not conducive to a great relationship or a great marriage or a great lifestyle', even though he was still 'kicking goals work-wise'.

Quarter of UK mental ill health benefit claimants expect to lose out from planned reforms, charity says

LONDON, June 5 (Reuters) - Around one in four British people with poor mental health who claim welfare benefits expect to lose their entitlement under proposed government reforms, according to research published by a charity on Thursday. Britain's government aims to save 4 billion pounds ($5.4 billion) a year by 2029-30 through tightening the rules for claiming a benefit known as personal independence payment (PIP) designed to cover disability-related costs, whether a claimant is in work or not. The Money and Mental Health Policy Institute said it interviewed 227 people with mental health conditions who receive PIP, which can be worth nearly 6,000 pounds a year. Some 24% of those surveyed said they expected to lose the benefit, while 39% were unsure if they would be affected. About one in five of those surveyed were in work, and nearly two thirds of them said reducing the benefit would make them work less, rather than more, due to difficulty affording transport costs or private mental health support. "Our analysis shows that these changes would actually result in many people with mental health problems who have a job cutting their hours or leaving the workplace altogether," the charity's chief executive, Helen Undy, said. PIP is paid to 3.7 million people in England and Wales, 6% of the population, and new claims have risen by two thirds in recent years. The government hopes that tighter eligibility rules will encourage more claimants to seek work. Under the government plans, claimants would need to have a severe difficulty in at least one area of daily life to qualify for the benefit, rather than a range of less severe problems. Britain's budget watchdog in March estimated that a third of claimants would be affected by the change, of whom around half would lose benefits after being reassessed. The new plans are subject to consultation until the end of the month. Finance minister Rachel Reeves has been under pressure from campaigners to reconsider, following a U-turn over a decision to scrap heating subsidies for most pensioners. ($1 = 0.7372 pounds)

Martin Lewis's charity warns Starmer's PIP disability cuts will be ‘catastrophic'

Martin Lewis ' charity has warned that Labour 's changes to the Personal Independence Payment (PIP), a key benefit for individuals with long-term health conditions or disabilities, will have a 'catastrophic impact'. Under reforms to the country's welfare system, Sir Keir Starmer 's government plans to update the eligibility criteria for PIP and universal credit to save around £5bn a year by 2030, and get more people into work. But critics say the changes will have a devastating impact on some of those who will lose the benefits. Currently, approximately 3.7 million people across England, Wales, and Northern Ireland receive PIP, a benefit designed to assist those facing challenges due to long-term physical or mental health issues. It is estimated that 800,000 will lose their allowance under changes to the assessments. Martin Lewis, founder of has previously raised concerns over the impact of the changes on people who have no other income. On Thursday, Money and Mental Health Policy Institute, a charity founded and chaired by Mr Lewis, warned the reform to PIP would have a 'catastrophic impact' on people's finances and mental health, and will drive people out of the workplace Research by the body showed a quarter of 227 people with a mental health condition who receive PIP expected to lose the allowance. The loss of the money would impact their ability to pay for counselling and therapy, the study found. More than eight in 10 of those interviewed also said losing PIP would mean they would have to significantly cut back on grocery spending, while three-quarters said they used the money to pay for essential household bills. Helen Undy, chief executive of the Money and Mental Health Policy Institute, said: 'The message to the government from this research is clear – its proposed changes to PIP will have a catastrophic impact on people with mental health problems' wellbeing, finances, and working lives. 'Getting PIP can be the difference between being able to afford the treatment, support and everyday essentials you need, or facing worsening mental health and financial hardship. Some of the people we've spoken to say they will struggle to survive day-to-day if they lose this payment and that even the prospect of it has contributed to them having suicidal thoughts. 'The government says its welfare reforms will help more people move into work. But you don't do that by depriving people of a critical financial lifeline that helps them stay well. Our analysis shows that these changes would actually result in many people with mental health problems who have a job cutting their hours or leaving the workplace altogether. 'We urge the government to ditch these plans. Balancing the books should not come at the price of causing misery and hardship for some of the most vulnerable people in society.'

Nova listeners demand to know where Kate Ritchie is as radio station makes a major announcement after star's months long absence

Nova FM has announced it will be hosting its annual Singles Party. The radio network shared the news on Thursday alongside a promo image featuring hosts Ryan Fitzgerald, Michael Wipfli and Kate Ritchie, who has been absent from the show for several months. And now, confused listeners are demanding to know whether Ritchie will be returning to the radio program after appearing on the event poster. 'Where is Kate? She has been absent all year and nothing has been mentioned about her coming back, is she returning or not?' one person asked. 'Hope Kate is going well, will she be returning this year?' another concerned fan said. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. 'When is Kate back?' a third questioned. There has been ongoing speculation over when she'll return to co-host Fitzy & Wippa with Kate Ritchie on Nova 96.9 following her sudden departure in January after a troubling public incident in a Sydney park. Kate's Instagram bio doesn't mention Nova anymore; instead she is simply 'actor, radio and broadcaster' which may point to her making a quiet exit. Despite her absence, the breakfast radio show has continued to thrive with just Fitzy and Wippa at the helm, recently recording its highest ratings in almost a year. The duo pulled in an impressive 8.7 per cent share of the audience in the latest survey, putting pressure on Nova bosses to make a decision about the show's future direction. Kate has been receiving ongoing support at a rehabilitation facility since the incident, which saw her photographed in tears and appearing visibly distressed shortly after picking Mae up from school. At the time, Kate released a heartfelt statement on social media explaining her decision to step away from the show. 'I struggle with mental health issues at times, which are deeply personal. This has proven to be a bigger challenge than I imagined,' she began. 'So I have decided to take a break from the show and the team who I love to focus on my health. I want to thank all of those who are helping me through this very difficult time. I love you. Thank you Nova for being there when I need you.' Kate went on to address the images taken on January 29. 'This is also a problem many others are struggling with. They know what it's like. The images of me taken last week show that I wasn't okay on that day,' she continued. She went on to thank her friends and fans for their support. 'Thank you to my wonderful family, all the Nova listeners, and many others who are sending their love and support. I appreciate it more than you can imagine,' she wrote. Footage obtained by Daily Mail Australia then showed the former actress crying while on the phone, wiping tears from her eyes and burying her head in her hands. A witness, who saw Ritchie get out of the car at the park, said the star 'looked really distressed'. 'She walked around a bit in the park while talking and then suddenly she sat down and started rocking her whole body back and forth and crying,' they said. 'It was really confronting – she looked so upset. When she turned around her eyes were all red and puffy and she looked absolutely devastated.' The actress was then seen struggling to get up from the grass. 'After the call ended, she tried to stand up but lost her balance and sort of fell over again,' the bystander added. 'When she finally managed to get to her feet, she started making another phone call... she looked much happier during that call.' Kate then walked around to the back of the vehicle – holding an arm out on the car as she got into the driver's seat and drove home. At the time, Nova's co-hosts had promised their audience that the absent Kate would return after one day off, but that timeline was soon dropped. This isn't the first time Kate has stepped away from her duties at Nova. In 2022, she took an extended hiatus from her drive-time program with Tim Blackwell and Joel Creasey, citing exhaustion and burnout. She never returned to that show either. Nova has remained tight-lipped on any potential comeback date and did not respond to questions about whether the embattled star had continued to receive pay during her absence.
