'I ditched my aerial for a Freely TV and I don't regret it one bit'

Get live BBC, ITV, 4 and 5 without an aerial with this Freely TV - and a whole lot more besides
TV has changed a lot over the past few years, from flicking through channels to find something to watch, to now getting everything on demand and over the internet. That's extended to those programmes you used to get through an aerial, thanks to a service called Freely.
Freely takes BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5 and delivers those over the internet, meaning that you don't need an aerial. As long as you can connect your TV to your home Wi-Fi, you can stream all that content instead.
I'm a TV review and tech expert and I ditched my aerial for a Freely TV and I don't regret it one bit. Freely is supported on a range of TVs, like this great-value Hisense E6N model.
This 50-inch TV is £249 on Amazon for a 4K TV with Dolby Vision, giving you access to those terrestrial channels via the internet, as well as the likes of Netflix, Disney+ and YouTube.
The best thing about the Hisense E6N is that it was double the price when it launched in 2024, so it's a huge discount and a lot of TV for the money.
The advent of Freely means that you can put a TV anywhere that you have Wi-Fi, without worrying about connecting to the roof aerial, or using a fiddly indoor aerial. If you want a TV in your kitchen, you can just make a space, mount it on the wall, or put it wherever you want.
If you want a TV for a bedroom, again, there's no stress about aerials or limiting what people can watch. You just connect to your Wi-Fi and let Freely do the rest.
Hisense has been making a big impact on TV across the UK over the past few years. It's a brand that packs a lot of technology into its TVs, from affordable models like the E6N here, right up to OLED and Mini-LED TVs, like the 75-inch Hisense U7 ( £999 on Amazon).
It's not the only brand offering Freely: it's also available on some Amazon Fire TV models, like the Fire TV Omni QLED (£359.99), as well as being a feature of affordable models using the new TiVo platform.
The great thing about this 50-inch model is that you're getting the full benefit of 4K resolution, so there's loads of detail on the screen. If you're watching Blu-ray discs they will be upscaled, while for Prime Video, 4K HDR content is standard, but for Netflix you'll need the Premium plan.
There's support for Dolby Vision for amazing colours and HDR highlights as well as HDR10+, which you'll find a lot of on Prime Video.
Hisense uses a platform called VIDAA, which has loads of streaming apps and is fast and smooth to use. It even supports Alexa, so you can use voice searching from the remote.
If you don't want to use Freely, there's a standard Freeview tuner built in, but if you can't connect an aerial, you just have to setup Freely when you first turn on the TV and you'll get those essential broadcast channels via Wi-Fi instead.
It is worth noting that like standard ariel TV it's reliability can be affected in bad weather. Back in May this year, Freely had to issue a statement to users.

Amazon's 'bargain' smartwatch that 'looks like Apple' was £100 now £24

People have said that the watch could pass as a leading model, which often sells for hundreds of pounds more Amazon shoppers have been raving about an affordable smartwatch that "covers all the features" expected of something more expensive. People can take advantage of a deal that knocks even more off the price tag, as the device is now £76 cheaper. The Jugeman Smart Watch normally costs Amazon shoppers £99.99 but has been discounted by more than 75% - but it's only for certain styles. At the time of writing, the light black, grey, light pink, green and blue versions are all under £24. Amazon claims that the fitness tracker has all the features people would expect from a smartwatch, like connecting to the phone via Bluetooth to make and receive calls. It can also pull messages from various other apps, such as WhatsApp, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and more. For fitness fanatics, the waterproof watch offers a range of features to make training and tracking progress effortless. With more than 110 different sport programmes, it "helps you train scientifically and achieve your fitness goals", Amazon adds. A major selling point that shoppers constantly praise about this watch is its 'long battery life'. Amazon also claims that a two-hour charge provides "up to 5-7 days of battery life." Alternatives are available elsewhere if people want to get their hands on a smartwatch but don't want to spend hundreds of pounds. For example, Sports Direct is offering this Karrimor Smart Watch (£19.99, down from £49.99) and the Reflex Active Series 23 Smart Watch from Currys (£39.99). One said: "Everyone keeps asking if it's an Apple Watch. It's brilliant, well worth the money and more!" Another added: "Great value watch, easy to set up, operate and read from the watch face. Good battery life was a replacement for a much more expensive version but still covers all the features." A third wrote: "Excellent value, look's really good and real easy to use, and the battery charge lasts forever." Someone else said: "Have been waiting for what felt like forever for this watch to go down in price and when it did, I brought two! "So easy to set up, comfortable to wear, easy to use but the biggest bonus for me is the battery life. Five days worn and it's still at 50% - that's impressive!" A fifth put: "It is very good and easy to set up, so far the whole family has one." Some did point out a few issues they had. One shared: "Has every sport app on it except swimming which is unusual but otherwise very pleased." And, another warned they found the device "can be very temperamental", suggesting it struggled to record steps, workouts and sleep patterns. A third put: "Watch doesn't always register my steps. Update took a while. The weather doesn't change unless I open weather on my phone then watch updates to the temp."

Shoppers swap Dyson and Shark vacuums for cheaper model with 'good suction'

One previous Shark and Dyson user said that this cheaper model 'was better' Amazon has reduced the price of one of its best-selling vacuums that shoppers have likened to expensive models from Dyson and Shark. The Ultenic U20 Cordless Vacuum Cleaner typically retails for £239.99 but is on sale right now for £149.99. The cordless vacuum cleaner has a 600W brushless motor and advanced noise reduction technology, promising to operate 40% quieter than traditional models. The floor brush features a four-layer design: stiff bristles (collecting carpet hair), V-shaped silicone flaps (deeper cleaning), soft PP bristles (captures fine dust particles), and durable nylon (removes pet hair and prevents tangling). Ultenic's U20 Cordless Vacuum Cleaner has an extendable arm to get in hard-to-reach areas such as beneath low furniture. The floor brush is made with an integrated green light to reveal hidden dust. Over at Shark, consumers can find reductions on bundle deals. For instance, this Classic Upright Cleaning Bundle includes a corded upright vacuum cleaner, with two floor modes, and a corded floor mop with three settings. Usually £369.98, it is on sale for £281. Dyson also has some deals on at the moment, including a sale on its best-selling V11 Advanced vacuum. It has been reduced by £80, now offered for £349.99, from £429.99. Consumers hoping to buy a robot vacuum can save £160 on Shark's Matrix Plus 2-in-1 Cordless Robot Vacuum Cleaner & Mop at Argos. The retailer is selling it for £240, down from £400. The same offer was also available on Shark's website; however, the device is currently out of stock. Ultenic's U20 Cordless Vacuum Cleaner has an overall customer satisfaction rating of 4.8 from Amazon shoppers and more than 1,000 reviews. One person described it as a 'lovely vacuum' with 'good suction', continuing: "I have always had a Dyson or Shark. But this is a great alternative, and to be honest, I think it is better than my Shark one." Another said they were 'far very pleased with it'. Before adding: "To try it out, I started vacuuming the house (I had already done it the day before) and couldn't believe how much dust, etc it picked up. The lights on it let you see where the dust is." The same shopper continued: "It is excellent on the stairs, using it hand-held and the pull-out brush. Having previously had a Dyson and a Shark I would say this cleaner is better. Great that it stands upright too. Coped very well with picking up pet hair and did not get tangled in brush." A few customers reported suction power problems, with one buyer saying: "Very lightweight and easy to set up. Battery life is accurately described. However, it is not a particularly powerful suction vacuum cleaner. You need to run over the same area several times to get a suitable clean." An additional shopper said: "Having previously had a Shark cordless hoover, I was looking to replace like for like. However, having read all the positive reviews on the Ultenic U20, I decided to go for it. The Ultenic arrived the next day and was super easy to put together. It's lightweight with a decent-sized dust bin that's really easy to empty and clean."

'Mophie powerbank kept my devices fully charged on a remote holiday'

I ditched my cheap Amazon powerbank for three of Mophie's newest power stations - they all stood out for this reason There's nothing worse than getting off a long-haul flight, nearing the end of a work day, or out with friends and realising your phone has run out of juice. This is where power banks come in as a staple tech accessory for many. I've used these nifty gadgets for years and had many different brands, from Anker to Belkin and a cheap £5 one from Amazon. But in the last few weeks, I've been testing out the newest range from Mophie, and it immediately beat the ones I've tried before. A long battery life, super fast-charging, and accessible ports - these are some of the standout points from Mophie's limited edition PowerStation collab with Red Bull Racing. I used three models while on holiday in Canada; the the £79.95 Powerstation Plus, £54.95 Powerstation Plus Mini, and the £39.95 Powerstation 5K - and there was a clear winner. A long-haul flight and days spent ticking off the tourist hotspots, which for us meant popular lakes and hiking around the Canadian Rockies. It was a no-brainer to try out the Mophie collection when I knew it'd be 10-12 hours gaps each day before I had access to a charging point. All three offer a solution to ensuring that your devices never run out of juice, and there are hours of battery life tapped into the devices. Starting at £39.95, I found myself picking up the smallest Powerstation 5K the most as we headed out each morning. Before I get into the main review, below is a snapshot of my favourite features. Plus, the few I wasn't so keen about. What I loved: Powerstation Plus and Powerstation 5K: Accessible ports made it easy to switch between iPhone and Samsung charging Powerstation 5K: A small design, most suitable for carrying around All three models: A long-lasting charge All three models: Charged mobile and camera quickly What I didn't like as much: Price: Above some rival brands Powerstation Plus: Has great speeds but is heavy to carry around, and its size is restrictive. How long does the Mophie PowerStation take to charge? Its ultra-portable size made popping into my crossbody bag or hand luggage easy, and light. Despite needing a charging cable, which some may see as a downside, I kept my phone hooked up to this throughout the day and it was really convenient - the whole point of a portable charger. Then there's the bigger Powerstation Plus Mini, which my partner used for his Samsung phone. This has the same size battery as the model I was using above (a 5,000mAh battery), and for that reason, it was reliable with speed and charge. However, compared to the Powerstation 5K I used, it was heavier. A Mophie powerbank for Samsung and Apple iPhone users A model for all devices - be it a phone, tablet and camera at once, the most expensive £79.95 Powerstation Plus is the one to pick - with a 10,000mAh battery and multiple different ports. This hefty powerbank also has built in USB-C and Lightning cable ports. A perk is that it's built for blended tech households like ours with a mix of iPhone and Android devices. However, its size and weight (which felt even heavier when carrying it around on hikes on holiday) are downsides. Alternative power banks for a budget price For me, the main reason the PowerStation 5K stood out among the other was the quality for price, at less than £40 for a 5,000mAh battery. In contrast to this, while of great quality, the other two models (the Powerstation Plus and Powerstation Mini) are expensive. Alternatively, this is where shoppers can find models with cheaper prices. One that looks good is the £29.98 Anker Power Bank, available from Amazon. This is geared for iPhone users with USB-C ports and even ports for AirPods. Another cheaper option is the BelkinBoost Charge, for £16.99, plus it has a battery to match the price of Mophie's most expensive (out of the one's I reviewed) £79.99 Powerstation Plus model - with a 10000 capacity.
