Jacksonville Jaguars' stadium, EverBank Stadium, awarded for high standards of safety
The SAFETY Act designation covers the entire stadium, which is managed by ASM Global, and ensures there is secure, consistent security for major events.
The award declares that the stadium meets high standards for public safety preparation and anti-terrorism measures.
The designation recognizes EverBank Stadium's investment in emergency planning, advanced screening, and threat response protocols.

'We are very pleased to receive this designation for our stadium. This provides validation to the security program deployed by the City of Jacksonville, the Jacksonville Jaguars and our partners' Mike Kenny, Regional Vice President of ASM Global, said in a news release.
'The Jaguars are committed to the safety of our fans, players, staff and visitors and, through this designation, the protections we have put in place have been affirmed at the highest levels,' Mark Lamping, President of the Jacksonville Jaguars, said in the release. 'The team, along with our stadium partners, are proud to see this achievement come to fruition and continue to instill confidence that all individuals in the venue have a safe and secure experience.'

Was Chris Olave's 'uncharacteristic' drop vs. Jaguars really out of character?
One soundbite from the broadcast of the New Orleans Saints' second preseason game brushed some fans the wrong way -- wide receiver Chris Olave dropped a pass on third down that would've gained 13 yards and kept Tyler Shough's second drive alive, setting the Saints up inside the Jacksonville Jaguars' red zone. And the broadcast described the drop as "uncharacteristic" for the wideout. But was it really? Or has Olave become known for those kinds of lapses in focus and missed opportunities? The receiver was later shown sitting on the bench in clear agitation, so he's at least aware of the problem. But how big of a problem have drops become for him? Pro Football Reference and Stathead keep track of these things, and since Olave entered the league in 2022, he's been one of 28 wide receivers who have drawn at least 300 targets. And of those 28 wideouts, Olave is tied with Stefon Diggs for the sixth-worst drop rate, with 15 of his 301 targets hitting the turf (5.0%). Diggs has dropped 19 of his 378 targets in the same span of time. To put it another way, Olave has the same number of drops as DeVonta Smith (on 337 targets) and Mike Evans (373 targets). What about catch rate? Olave has caught 63.5% of those passes (191 out of 301), which ranks 19th within this group. Another metric PFR uses is success rate, which defines success as "a play that gains at least 40% of yards required on 1st down, 60% of yards required on 2nd down, and 100% on 3rd or 4th down." That stat puts Olave 14th, right in the middle of this group, with a 55.5% success rate. You don't need to tell Olave he needs to play better. He knows that as well as anyone. After missing so much time last year in between a couple of scary concussions, he hasn't quite looked like himself in the limited time we've seen him play this preseason. At the same time, he hasn't quite met expectations as the leader in the receiving room. These are the kinds of plays a WR1 needs to make. If he can't clean it up, he won't be wearing that title.

Saints Play of the Day: Spencer Rattler's clutch 20-yard touchdown pass
There are just 20 days left until the 2025 season begins, and it just so happens that an important touchdown from Sunday's preseason game against the Jacksonville Jaguars went for 20 yards. That makes it the perfect choice for today's Saints Play of the Day. As the starting quarterback competition rages on in New Orleans, Spencer Rattler badly needed to have a good game on Sunday. Tyler Shough wowed fans with his arm last week, and Rattler was just ok. The second-year passer did exactly what he had to do to keep the competition alive and even possibly take the lead. The specific play that we are talking about today came with less than 30 seconds left in the game. Rattler had driven the offense to the red zone on the last drive, but threw an interception. It felt like a done deal that the Jaguars would win the game by a score of 17-9. Instead, the Saints got one more shot with just under three minutes to go. Mostly aided by a couple of passes to Mason Tipton and a nice scramble, Rattler got New Orleans within striking distance. On 3rd and 9, with 27 seconds left, the quarterback found Dante Pettis for a 20-yard touchdown. You can watch the clutch touchdown for yourself here. Rattler then successfully converted the two-point try to tie the game at 17 all. A Jonas Sanker interception on the ensuing drive secured the tie for the Saints, but really, it felt like a massive win. Rattler finished the day 18-for-24 with 199 yards, a touchdown and an interception. Pettis had four catches for 57 yards and that score. Both performances will be fresh in the minds of the coaching staff, as roster and starting job decisions must be made soon.

Jaguars trading O lineman to Saints for D tackle
The Jacksonville Jaguars and New Orleans Saints have agreed to a trade involving Jags offensive lineman Luke Fortner for Saints defensive tackle Khalen Saunders, pending physicals, the teams announced today. Saunders, who was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft, will be joining the Jaguars after a stint with the Saints. Saunders has accumulated impressive career statistics, including 181 tackles, 6.5 sacks, and an interception over 68 regular-season games. Saunders, a two-time Super Bowl champion with the Chiefs, has played a significant role in both regular season and postseason games. During his time with Kansas City, he contributed to their Super Bowl LIV and LVII victories. In his collegiate career at Western Illinois, Saunders demonstrated his defensive prowess with 203 tackles and 17.5 sacks over 46 games.
