Tom Cruise rocks out at Oasis as he bags huge number of tickets for him and his mates

Hollywood A-Lister Tom Cruise has been seen rocking out at Oasis' Wembley Stadium show as the Mirror revealed he managed to bag 20 tickets to the sold-out show for his pals
Tom Cruise has been spotted lapping it up at Oasis' show at Wembley Stadium as he managed to bag not one, but 20 tickets. The Hollywood A-Lister headed on down the stadium on Friday night for Liam and Noel Gallagher's first show in the capital as part of their reunion tour.

He was spotted rocking out in the crowd as he was surrounded by other celebrities, including Goldie. The music producer and DJ posed for a selfie with Tom while Oasis took to the stage to perform some of their greatest hits to the 90,000 strong crowd.

Tom flashed a thumbs up to the camera as he kept a low profile in the standing section of the venue. The Mirror revealed Tom would be in attendance at the show, having been spotted belting out Oasis while at Glastonbury last year.

Millions of fans tried unsuccessfully to get tickets for the long awaited Oasis reunion, while others had a 4 tickets per person limit. But Hollywood actor Tom pulled in some favours and got up to 20 tickets for himself and his pals.
A source close to the band told us: "Tom Cruise is used to seeing some spectacular things in Hollywood and on film sets, but he has heard the new Oasis show is out of this world and was very keen to see it for himself. There are no stunts involved, but the atmosphere will be electric.

"Tom is excited to see the gig, and his friends were thrilled he was able to offer them tickets too. They are hard for even the biggest and richest people to secure.
"He is taking up to 20 people with him, and must be one of the few people on this tour who will be able to attend with such a big group.
"The story of the reunion between Liam and Noel after almost two decades would also make a great film script. So, perhaps if Tom gets the chance, he can speak to the boys about an Oasis movie. It would surely be a box office hit after the success of this tour."

Liam and Noel Gallagher made their return to Wembley Stadium together last night for the first of their five dates in the capital. During Friday night's show, Oasis paid tribute to rock icon Ozzy Osbourne following his death this week.
The Black Sabbath star died aged 76 on Tuesday, with his family confirming the sad news. Oasis dedicated Live Forever to him at Wembley during the opening show which caused cheers and applause from the crowd.

A black and white photo of Ozzy appeared during the track and at the end of the song, Liam said: "That one was dedicated to Ozzy Osbourne, a Rock N Roll Star." He then launched into Rock N Roll Star.
The band previously dedicated Live Forever to Liverpool's Diogo Jota at their Cardiff shows when the tour kicked off. In the final moments of the song, the giant screens on stage projected the number 20 on the Liverpool player's shirt, raising emotions and drawing cheers and applause among the onlooking fans in the stadium.

Oasis: What's Their Story? An unofficial celebration magazine on sale now!
A few simple words on social media on August 27 in 2024 were enough to spark pandemonium among Oasis fans and were the catalyst for the most eagerly awaited UK gigs of all time.
This special unofficial magazine, available to order here, marks the reunion and honours the band both now and down the years with our incredible archive of photos and interviews - and with exclusive reviews and photographs of their first show!
Oasis anthem Live Forever includes the emotional lyrics: 'Maybe you're the same as me, we see things they'll never see, You and I are gonna live forever.'
The Wembley shows have seen fans hit with the highest drink prices so far on the tour, with a pint coming in at £8.30. It is 10p more than at the Cardiff shows and much more than Manchester's pints, which were set at £6.50.

How to throw the ultimate summer BBQ or picnic with kids at home - without breaking the bank

Entertaining guru Matilda Bea - who has more than 500,000 followers across Instagram and TikTok - shares her top 10 tips and reveals how to keep kids happy and parents sane all summer long With the school holidays in full swing and costs soaring, many families are skipping pricey outings and choosing to host garden BBQs and local park picnics instead. And according to entertaining expert Matilda Bea, that doesn't mean sacrificing fun or breaking the bank. ‌ According to a new survey, parents spend more than £100 extra per week over the summer holidays. But for those placing their children in clubs or camps, this rises to a staggering £385 per week, according to the Utility Warehouse survey that quizzed 1,000 parents of five to 15-year-old children. ‌ But having fun with the kids doesn't have to cost a fortune. Here, Matilda shares her top tips with the Mirror for summer BBQs and picnics that look and feel fabulous without breaking the bank. ‌ 1. Set the scene Matilda says lighting and tableware make all the difference. "String up fairy lights, use solar lanterns or pop candles in hurricane jars. The glow as the sun goes down transforms the space." ‌ Her favourite budget-friendly finds is the £20 Habitat Large Hurricane with Wooden Legs and the £15 Solar Filament Bulb Lantern to "create an instant good vibe". 2. Get inspired by TikTok BBQ season has gone viral once again on TikTok as Brits hope for another heatwave comeback this summer. "Whether you're taking full reign of the grill or curating the most epic spread of sides, it's all about teamwork, fun, and delicious food," Matilda says. "Sharing plates are a staple for making your BBQ or picnic look more curated - and it requires minimal effort." ‌ 3. Bring the indoors out Indoor/outdoor living can be a lifesaver for parents this summer, with bringing toys outside helping to keep the kids entertained while you are hosting. Layer up tablecloths, bring out proper cutlery and colourful dishes. "I hosted a garden party recently with 12 friends - tablecloths laid widthways and clashing napkins made it feel so joyful." ‌ Don't be afraid of colour. "Bold tones and mixed glassware add so much life to the table." 4. Pick a theme Not everything has to match, but a visual thread helps. "Lemons and blue for an Amalfi vibe, terracotta and wildflowers for Spanish summer." And for those wanting a money saving trick, Matilda suggests naming it "BYOB - bring your own buns!" ‌ 5. Plan for the British weather "Umbrellas, parasols, or even a chic throw-over pergola mean your party won't be a washout," she says. "And honestly, a little drizzle never hurt anyone when the spritzes are flowing and the playlists on point." 6. Create a Signature Station Matilda loves a station setup - drinks bars, condiments corners, even DIY sandwich or taco tables. ‌ And for the kids, these can be lifesavers if you set up a station just for them filled with their favourite snacks and drinks. "A drinks cart with elderflower spritzes or mocktails is such a moment. Or go full retro with a cordial and soda bar," she adds. "You can easily adapt this into a DIY ice cream bar, s'mores tray, or even a condiment corner with Sainsbury's Spicy Truffle Aioli - my favourite!" 7. Get ahead on prep 'Do what you can the night before - marinate skewers, chop salads, chill drinks. Then you're free to enjoy the day.' ‌ For shortcuts on a budget, Matilda swears by Sainsbury's summer range: 'The Coffee & Mascarpone Tart is a no-brainer for dessert.' 8. Seating is everything Low picnic rugs, poufs and fold-up chairs create a casual but stylish setup. "If you're heading to a local park, plenty of brands now offer beautiful foldable chairs and patterned rugs - they instantly elevate the setup and make it feel more curated." ‌ 9. Tableware Tableware doesn't have to cost a fortune and can be as simple as picking up some cheap, colourful tablecloths to throw over your old patio set. "A mix of vintage glasses or bold napkins can really bring the table to life," Matilda says. "Think clashing in the best way." ‌ 10. Tie it into summer sports With the Lionesses picking up a big win this weekend, it's the perfect time to plan ahead of more summer sports this season. "From F1 Sundays to the Euros or the Olympics, sport can be a great backdrop to your gathering," Matilda says. "Having it playing in the background gives everyone a natural talking point and keeps the energy upbeat, even during the mid-afternoon lull." Bonus tips for budget picnicking with the kids Freeze juice cartons for ice-cold drinks on the go Bring bubble wands or chalk for easy, mess-free park fun Use reusable plates and napkins to save money and waste Keep meals simple and sharable: pasta salads, wraps, cut fruit, and crisps always go down well Have kids help with the setup - it gives them a sense of pride and keeps them busy

Cameron Mackintosh in tribute to ‘wry, generous and utterly original' Tom Lehrer

West End impresario Sir Cameron Mackintosh has remembered US song satirist Tom Lehrer as 'wry, generous and utterly original' following his death aged 97. Lehrer died at his home in Cambridge, Massachusetts, according to reports. Advertisement In his work he satirised marriage, politics, racism and the Cold War, and his songs included Poisoning Pigeons In The Park, The Old Dope Peddler, Be Prepared and The Vatican Rag, which took aim at the Roman Catholic Church. Sir Cameron Mackintosh has paid tribute to Tom Lehrer (Ian West/PA) Mackintosh said in a tribute that Lehrer 'was a very special kind of genius – a master of language, mathematics and contagious melody whose wickedly witty intellect defined an era of musical satire and influenced everyone else that followed him'. He said: 'At the piano he was a maestro of devilish charm and exquisite timing, able to make a song about drug addiction, The Old Dope Peddler, sound like a lullaby. 'But in real life he had no ambition to be a performer and was actually quite modest and shy – writing these outrageous songs for the delight of his friends and peers.' Advertisement Lehrer began his working life in academia and science, before being drafted into the US Army in 1955. He used his military experience to write the songs The Wild West Is Where I Want To Be and It Makes A Fellow Proud To Be A Soldier. The tribute continued: 'Eventually, he was persuaded to appear in concerts around the world, but he only did so so that he could travel – at someone else's expense. 'By the early 1960s, he was not only bored with touring but also writing, using the excuse that, 'political satire had become obsolete when Kissinger was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize'. Advertisement 'Tom wanted to go back to his 'day-job', teaching mathematics and running classes on The History Of Musical Theatre on the side. 'I had grown up in the mid-50s listening to recordings of his wonderful songs, and shortly after I had produced my first international hit Side By Side by Sondheim in the mid-70s, I suddenly got the idea that Tom's material might also work as a stage revue. 'When we met, he was disarmingly grateful for me wanting to, 'exhume and repackage' his 'meagre oeuvre and foist it on a previously unsuspecting audience', as long as I was to send him some sums of money from time to time – that was the nearest we ever got to a contract. 'That was Tom – wry, generous and utterly original. Advertisement 'It was the start of what Tom calls 'a perfect blendship' that lasted over 50 years, and I am profoundly grateful that I had the privilege of getting to know such an extraordinary man so well.' Lehrer was born in New York City, and his involvement with music began when he was sent to piano lessons by his mother during his childhood. In the early 1960s he worked as the in-house songwriter for the US edition of satirical TV show That Was The Week That Was, and in 2012, some 60 years after its initial recording, his song The Old Dope Peddler was sampled by rapper 2 Chainz on his debut album Based On A T.R.U. Story. Mackintosh continued: 'Tom's legacy is timeless, his humour still terrifyingly relevant and I like to think he's getting ready to stage The Vatican Rag behind the Pearly Gates. Standing room only, of course.' Advertisement Theatre owner Sir Cameron has produced three of the world's longest-running musicals – Les Miserables, The Phantom Of The Opera, and Cats. He owns venues including London's Sondheim, Noel Coward and Prince Edward theatres.
