Prince William Cracks Joke About His Hair While Out in England

Prince William knows his nature's crown isn't the fullest.
In fact, the Prince of Wales—whose hair loss journey has been a hot topic for well over a decade—cracked a joke about his balding mane during his recent outing at the Sporting Khalsa FC in Willenhall, a small town in England's West Midlands.
'Look at your hair, it's fantastic,' the 42-year-old said in a March 12 video posted to X, which sees him complimenting a fan's vibrant red hair while greeting members of a crowd. William, dressed in a navy blue coat and black trousers, then poked fun at his own minimal haircut. 'Wish I had hair like that. I know, I've not a chance.'
William's hair was styled in his signature light comb over, a stark difference from his notable 2018 buzz cut. And while it seems the royal—who shares kids Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6, with wife Kate Middleton—has slightly grown out his hair in the last seven years, his facial hair is receiving the same treatment. He's still donning his infamous grey-peppered beard, which he first debuted last September, in this new clip.

This isn't the first time William has made fun of his hair, as he gave his bald crown a non-subtle shoutout when he appeared on the British YouTube channel, Sorted Food, in 2023 to talk about his Earthshot Prize award ceremony.

'Earthshot Prize [is] an initiative I started about two years ago now, although it's been about four years in the making—I had hair when it started,' William joked of his receding hairline, which made hosts Barry Taylor, Jamie Spafford, and Ben Ebbrell audibly laugh. 'It's designed as an environmental prize tackling the world's greatest environmental problems.'

King Charles Forced To Skip This Major Tradition Amid Drastic Changes in the Royal Family
King Charles III will be breaking royal tradition at this year's Trooping the Colour. According to The Times of London, King Charles will not ride on horseback at this year's Trooping the Colour parade, as has been tradition for reigning monarchs. Instead, Charles will ride in a carriage alongside Queen Camilla for the procession from Buckingham Palace to Horse Guards Parade and back on Saturday, June 14. The outlet did not give an official reason as to why Charles will skip the ride, but the King is currently receiving weekly treatment for cancer. He rode in a carriage last year shortly after revealing his cancer diagnosis. Charles rode as sovereign in 2023, marking the first time the monarch had ridden in the parade since Queen Elizabeth in 1986. Charles' mother rode Burmese, her trusty mare, until she was retired, after which the Queen travelled in a carriage from 1987 until her final appearance in 2022. After briefly reviving the tradition, Charles will once again retire it and perhaps for good. This latest shift away from tradition comes amid several changes happening behind the scenes, allegedly stemming from Prince William's new vision for the monarchy. In May, Kate Mansey, a royal editor for the Times, claimed William is planning for 'quite a radical departure, really, from what The King does, or what the late Queen did.' Mansey claimed that William is less interested in the ribbon-cutting and public appearances we're used to seeing the Royals do and wants the family to be more associated with real charitable projects. Mansey claimed that William 'wants to come away and think, 'I've made a difference there, there's money that's gone into that community centre or there's something that's happened because I went there,' rather than just showing up and shaking some hands.'
