TVK plays cards close to its chest amid calls for alliance in T.N.
Recently, former AIADMK Minister and Kovilpatti MLA Kadambur C. Raju said: 'Mr. Vijay also shares the AIADMK's view that the DMK is anti-people and needs to be removed from power. There is still one year to go before the elections and the alliance would take final shape only in January. It would not be surprising if like-minded political parties come together with the shared goal of unseating the DMK.'
Echoing his views, BJP State president Nainar Nagenthran had said although political parties have differing opinions on various issues, they should unite with the common goal of removing the DMK from power in 2026.
Within political circles, these statements were seen as an 'indirect call' for the TVK to join the NDA. Although Mr. Vijay has not publicly responded to these developments, sources within the TVK pointed to his remarks at the Vikravandi conference, where he stated that the DMK and BJP are the party's political and ideological enemies respectively, and that the TVK would never align with either.
Referring to the AIADMK-BJP alliance without explicitly naming the coalition, TVK propaganda secretary A. Rajmohan said: 'To defeat the DMK, our party would align only with the people and certainly not with a party that has joined hands with a fascist force.' However, he added the party remains open to alliances with any party except the DMK and the BJP.

Anbumani: Chennai's 2nd airport can be in Thiruporur instead of Parandur
Chennai: PMK president Anbumani Ramadoss on Sunday said that the second airport for Chennai can be established in Thiruporur instead of Parandur. At a public meeting, during his third day of 'Urimai Meetpu Payanam', in Kanchipuram assembly segment, Anbumani said an airport at Thiruporur will not affect the people unlike Parandur where farmers have to be relocated. "There are 10,000 acres of salt pans near Thiruporur. If the airport is established in Thiruporur, none will be affected," Anbumani said. He said the PMK believed that Chennai needs development and a second airport. But the facility should not be established at the cost of farmers and farmlands, he said. Tamil Nadu CM Stalin discharged from Chennai hospital after therapeutic procedure
Tamil Nadu chief minister MK Stalin was discharged from a private hospital in Chennai on Sunday evening after undergoing a successful therapeutic procedure to treat variations in heart rate, the hospital said. After experiencing mild dizziness, the CM Stalin underwent medical examination and a procedure performed by a team of expert doctors.(PTI) On July 21, Stalin experienced dizziness during his morning walk and underwent medical examination, followed by a procedure performed by a team of expert doctors. According to the Apollo Hospital, where the CM was admitted, Stalin has been declared fit for discharge and has been advised to resume his regular activities after three days of rest. After experiencing mild dizziness. Even after being hospitalised, CM Stalin continued reviewing government programmes and initiatives from the hospital room, PTI news agency reported. He also underwent an angiogram earlier, after which no blockage was found in the blood vessels, senior DMK leader and Minister Duraimurugan told PTI. Apollo Hospital had earlier said that after performing several diagnostic tests, it was found that the giddiness was only due to some variations in the heartbeat. An angiogram was performed afterwards, which came out to be normal. Meanwhile, earlier on Sunday, CM Stalin had written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, highlighting urgent demands related to education, infrastructure, railways, and the welfare of people in Tamil Nadu. In his petition, CM Stalin demanded that funds under the Samagra Shiksha scheme be released and urged the Centre to implement railway projects that were sanctioned over a decade ago but still remain inactive. The petition emphasised the need for the centre's cooperation in implementing crucial projects and addressing long-pending issues. The petition sent to the centre, also raised strong concerns over the continued arrest and detention of Indian fishermen and the seizure of their boats by the Sri Lankan Navy. The Chief Minister urged the Prime Minister to intervene and find a permanent diplomatic solution personally.
