Chappell Roan's ballad 'The Subway' finally released on streaming platforms
After a year, "The Subway" is finally here! Chappell Roan has been teasing the single for over a year, first performing it at the Governors Ball Music Festival in New York City in 2024. The "Good Luck, Babe!" hitmaker released the studio version of the track on Friday, her third single since her debut album "The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess." On Instagram, Chappell thanked fans for waiting until the song was ready. "I'm very proud of this song & what a journey she has been on," she wrote. Obviously not knowing this really chaotic year would follow the [Governors Ball] performance, it didn't really leave me the time to build the world the song deserved. But finally we are here," she added. She said it was worth it to "make sure everything was absolutely right." The release of "The Subway" comes after 'The Giver,' which came out in March. Among Chappell's other hits include 'Hot to Go,' 'Pink Pony Club,' and 'Red Wine Supernova.' Chappell was named Best New Artist at the 2025 Grammy Awards in February. —JCB, GMA Integrated News
