Ultraviolette upgrades F77 with Gen3 firmware, introduces ‘Ballistic+' mode
has announced a major performance upgrade for its F77
electric motorcycle
with the rollout of its Gen3 powertrain firmware, which introduces a new high-performance riding mode called 'Ballistic+'. The update is available free of charge to all existing F77 owners.
The upgrade is the result of data gathered from more than eight million kilometres of cumulative customer riding experience, enabling the company to refine motor control algorithms, battery management systems, and dynamic performance tuning.
According to Ultraviolette, the Gen3 firmware enhances acceleration, top-end performance, and throttle precision, while also improving energy regeneration and heat management.
In-house operating system
The
Ballistic+ mode
is intended for advanced riders seeking sharper throttle response and higher top speeds. It is currently available only on the
F77 Recon variant
.
Ultraviolette's in-house operating system, Violette A.I., played a central role in developing and deploying the update. The OTA (over-the-air) firmware is being pushed out to customers across India and international markets in a phased manner starting this week.
The company says the update represents a milestone in its strategy to evolve the F77 as a software-defined motorcycle platform. The move reflects a broader industry trend of enhancing vehicle capabilities post-purchase via firmware improvements.
The F77, launched in 2022, is currently available in two variants — standard and Recon. Ultraviolette is also preparing for a global rollout, with launches expected in select international markets later this year.

Ultraviolette ramps up India expansion, launches experience centres in five cities
Electric motorcycle maker Ultraviolette has announced the launch of five new experience centres across India, marking an aggressive push to meet surging demand for its high-performance F77 motorcycles . The rollout includes new centres in Madurai, Kolkata, Berhampore, Jaipur, and Yelahanka in Bengaluru — the latter being its second facility in the city. The expansion brings the company's retail presence to 17 cities, and marks its entry into key new states such as Rajasthan and West Bengal, according to the company's statement. This is part of Ultraviolette's wider plan to scale up to 100 Indian cities by FY26, following its recent launch in 10 European countries. Ultraviolette's new UV Space Stations, developed with dealer partners, are designed to offer a full-service ecosystem, including personalised test rides, vehicle delivery, dedicated aftersales support, and genuine spares. The newly inaugurated centres will retail the company's flagship models — the F77 SuperStreet and the F77 MACH 2. 'Our rapid expansion reflects both strong consumer demand and our operational agility,' said Narayan Subramaniam, CEO and Co-founder of Ultraviolette. 'This is not just growth for the sake of it — we are building a robust customer experience ecosystem with performance, design and service at the core.' An upgrade for F77 customers The company also announced a major performance upgrade with the rollout of its ' GEN3 Powertrain Firmware ' and 'Ballistic+' mode for all F77 customers, at no extra cost. The enhancements include sharper throttle response and improved acceleration. These updates follow previous rollouts of safety and tech features like traction control, dynamic stability control, regenerative braking, and hill-hold assist. Backed by investors including EXOR's Lingotto , Qualcomm Ventures, Zoho, TVS Motor, and Speciale Invest, Ultraviolette has positioned itself as a key player in India's premium electric two-wheeler space.

He added that the expansion is about more than just geography—it's about building a scalable and consistent customer experience through robust sales and service ecosystems. Ultraviolette F77: 2025 Updates Ultraviolette had released a software upgrade for its F77 electric motorbike series earlier in the year, including the new Gen3 Powertrain Firmware. In addition to this upgrade, a new performance mode named Ballistic+ has been released as well. The upgrade comes after extensive studies of rider behavior based on over 8 million kilometres of real-world riding data. Gen3 firmware was created to enhance throttle response and performance of the F77. It is based on data collected by the company's proprietary Violette A.I. system, which monitors over 3,000 parameters during a ride, including acceleration patterns, terrain inputs, and rider behaviour. It is reported by the company that these learnings have been employed to develop the power delivery and handling of the motorcycle.
