DJ Moore wonders if Bears offense put up enough points for Ben Johnson

Yahoo6 hours ago
The Chicago Bears put on a show against the Buffalo Bills with a 38-0 win in their second preseason game, where both starters and reserves turned up the heat on offense and defense.
The starting offense got off to a hot start with a seven-play, 92-yard scoring drive that culminated in a 36-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Caleb Williams to wide receiver Olamide Zaccheaus. But even after the starters exited, Tyson Bagent and the backups really piled it on.
With the Bears up 38-0, there was a television shot of head coach Ben Johnson on the sidelines not looking happy with the scoreboard underneath him read: Bears 38, Bills 0, an indication he still wasn't satisfied.
During an appearance on the "Up & Adams Show" with Kay Adams on Tuesday, wide receivers Rome Odunze and DJ Moore were asked about that preseason game and a number of other topics. But Adams asked Moore about Johnson's message to the team after their blowout win -- and Moore isn't sure 38 points was enough for Johnson.
"He came in and said, '38 points was good and the fans booed us' and he said 'duly noted,'" Moore said. "So I'm waiting to see what that means. I'm glad he was kind of happy that we won. But you never really know what he's thinking. I don't know if we put up enough points when we was out there."
Johnson has established a high standard for his team since stepping in as head coach in January, and it's something the players have rallied around. Even after blowing out a Super Bowl contender in preseason, Johnson understands there's still plenty of room to grow.
This Bears offense is poised to take a massive leap under Johnson, even in Year 1, and it's something that his players are ready to embrace.

The Seattle Seahawks and Green Bay Packers have a preseason game on Saturday afternoon, but the starters are getting their work in through a joint scrimmage in Green Bay. Will we have any melees and skirmishes commonly associated with joint practices? We'll have to wait to find out. I think the center competition has been won, but if they're alternating at any point maybe this goes down to the wire. Enjoy the belatedly put together links!
