Uncle Gedek's 16-year selfie streak sets a record

MARZUKI Mahboob, 56, better known as Uncle Gedek, has made it into the Malaysia Book of Records for his feat of taking a selfie every day for the past 16 years, Kosmo! reported.
Marzuki said he initially intended to create a blog titled 'Blog Begins At Forty', but he found writing challenging and opted instead to share daily selfies.
'From the start, I've shared a selfie from wherever I was, capturing different backgrounds,' he told K-Tekno.
'I'd strike a similar pose with the same facial expression, adding a short, humorous caption.'
Besides using a smartphone, Marzuki said he would also use a DSLR camera or laptop to snap photos of himself.
He also uploads time-lapse videos of his selfies to YouTube.
These videos document the gradual transformation of his appearance, from black hair and beard to white.
Among those who had taken selfies with him are Nurul Izzah Anwar, Datuk Seri Najib Razak, Ramli Sarip, and Altimet.

Nur Ainatun said the area is known for this annual clam phenomenon, which has recently gone viral on TikTok and Facebook.
This surge in online attention has led to a rush of people to the area to collect clams.

The police are investigating the specific circumstances of the incident. Jungkook's label, HYBE, has commented on the situation but said, 'It's difficult to provide detailed information on the situation as the police are currently investigating the situation.' Meanwhile, ARMYs online have shared their reaction to the news, mostly expressing shock over the situation. Many criticised the woman's action, hoping she'd receive appropriate punishment for attempted trespassing. Others lamented the extreme situation with BTS' stalkers, or sasaengs, urging HYBE to protect their artists. Some also said that the singer has only returned from the military for a day, but already has to deal with stalkers. This case isn't the only issue surrounding BTS' recent military discharge. After RM (알앰), V (뷔), Jimin (지민) and Jungkook completed their military service, roughly 1,500 ARMYs flocked to the HYBE building in Seoul to celebrate the occasion. Christine Fan competes in singing reality show, gets eliminated in 1st round
Singer Christine Fan has openly expressed her disappointment with her performance of 'The First Dream' (2004) on Chinese reality music competition 'Singer 2025'. Photo: Christine Fan/Instagram America-born Taiwanese singer Christine Fan made a short-lived appearance as a contestant on Singer 2025 – the Chinese reality music competition broadcast on Hunan Television – before getting eliminated in the same episode. The show, which premiered on May 16, features an international line-up of professional singers, including Chen Chusheng from China, Beni from Japan and Mickey Guyton from the US. Three winners will be named at the end of the season. Singer 2025 was formerly known as I Am A Singer , which premiered in 2013 and was renamed in 2017. This is the 10th season of the show, and voting results are determined by in-person audiences as well as Internet users. Fan, better known by her stage name FanFan, was brought in to replace Taiwanese singer Terry Lin, 58, who was eliminated after the fourth episode, which aired on June 6. Fan came in last among eight singers, ranking below those from China, such as Ma Jiaqi, Shan Yichun and Gai. Fan, 49, sang her hit track The First Dream (2004), but was off-key and suffered from shaky vocals. She reportedly cried as soon as she left the stage. Netizens compared her performance to the scene of a car accident, with viewers adding she was not confident and appeared nervous.
