Lee Ryan to become a father for the SIXTH time! Blue star announces his wife Verity Paris' pregnancy as he jokes 'oops we did it again'

Daily Maila day ago

Blue star Lee Ryan has announced he is set to become a dad for the sixth time.
The singer, 42, revealed that his wife Verity Paris is expecting their fourth child together, while he is already father to two other children.
Lee shared the happy news on his TikTok page, as he shared a photo of himself cradling his wife's bump with the playful caption: 'Oops we did it again.
'Baby number 4 on the way to add to our lovely little family! Another vibe to join the tribe we are truly grateful ps…. Check out little Elton John by the piano!"
Lee and Verity enjoyed a lavish wedding ceremony in Seville last October - two years after their secret legal ceremony in Gibraltar.
He moved to Spain three years ago to start a family with Verity, 33, and the couple said 'I do' at a registry office in 2022.
After missing out a big wedding day with their family and friends due to the pandemic restrictions, the couple celebrated their nuptials with a fairytale wedding in Seville on 7 October, with all his Blue bandmates in attendance.
Describing the special day to OK!, Lee admitted he cried at several points during the day, saying it 'felt like a dream'.
The couple's three children all played roles in the ceremony, with their three-year-old and two-year-old daughters being flower girls and Lee walked down the aisle carrying their newborn son to a string quartet playing Time by Hans Zimmer.

Gushing about his wife, he admitted he knew she was the one on their second date and that 'she saved my life', while describing the moment he saw her in her dress, 'it took my breath away'.
Lee detailed how they incorporated different religions and spiritual elements for the service and had their first dance to John Legend's Never Break.
Speaking about having his fellow Blue members Simon Webbe, Duncan James and Antony Costa by his side, he said: 'It was great to have Simon, Duncan and Antony there.
'I don't have any actual brothers – but they are my brothers. Through thick and thin, all four of us. We've had many ups and downs over the years and it's only the four of us who really know what it's like. It's a bond that's lasted 24 years now.'
He added that Simon even gave an impromptu performance of No Worries, but joked he didn't allow any of them to do speeches as 'they know too much'.
Antony's daughters Savannah Rosa and Paloma Valentina and Simon's two little girls Cyan and Riya were also flower girls, with three-month-old Riya being the youngest member of the bridal party.
Lee explained he and Verity are breaking up their honeymoon into three small city breaks to Venice, Paris and Budapest over the next 12 months.
Recalling how they first met, he said: 'We first saw each other at a Christmas lights switch on when I was promoting and Verity was a performer, and we met backstage.
'A few weeks later, we went on our first date and we bonded over our love of food – sushi, on that occasion. The first time I knew she was the one was on our second date. We picked a Christmas tree and danced around my living room to John Legend.'
He added they work so well together because 'I'm a nutty Gemini and she's a Libra who balances me out' and also praised her for having 'a lot of patience'.
He went on: 'We are both creative and we write songs together and share a love of music and performing. Verity understands my life, and that I have to go and work for us to have this life together. But I love coming home. She saved my life. My wife saved my life, I know that for sure.'
When the couple first tied the knot two years ago, Lee told The Sun: 'I met someone finally who loves and supports me in everything I do.
'Verity is a beautiful, strong and loving woman who I treasure, and I'm a lucky man to have such a wonderful mother for my child, and now wife in her.
'I've never been more calm and grounded and I have Verity to thank for that. I'm the happiest I've ever been in my life because of the wonderful family life I now have.'
As well as his three children with Verity, Lee is also dad to daughter Bluebell, 15, who he shares with ex Jessica Keevil, and son Rayn, 14, whose mother is his ex-fiancée, Samantha Miller.
The couple moved to a beachfront apartment in the Costa del Sol in 2020 with the duo admitting that they now have a 'better quality of life' and 'new lease of life'.
Lee admitted that after 20 years of living in London he now loves scenic walks along the coastline and 'sea air'.
The singer revealed that they took out Spanish residency before Brexit and that their daughter will have 'dual passports' with the couple excited for her to speak Spanish.
Lee and Verity were first linked back in January 2020 before enjoying a loved-up holiday together in February 2022.
Verity - whose real name is Verity Morley - is an Ariana Grande impersonator who starred on the X Factor in 2009.
Lee, who was known as somewhat as a lothario on Celebrity Big Brother and Celebs Go Dating, previously reflected on his failed relationships and low points of his life.
He told the Daily Mail in 2019: 'I shouldn't have lost the family life I had with my ex-fiance, Sammi, and our little boy, Rayn. He's ten now and we're really close again.
'But I neglected the relationship so it's only relatively recently that he's been able to see functioning co-parenting, something my mum and dad never achieve.'
He added back then: 'I don't know if I'll settle down for a long time. I love the early months of a relationship and then I start concentrating on my career again.
'I also have a daughter, Bluebell, who's 11. These are key ages for my kids so I'm working as hard as I know how to make memories with each of them that will last. They're my priority for the next few years.'
It comes just a year after Lee narrowly dodged jail after his racially aggravated assault on a black British Airways flight attendant whom he told: 'I want your chocolate children'.
He was handed a 12-month suspended prison sentence in September last year following his arrest for behaving in an 'intimidating' and 'crazy' manner during a flight from Glasgow to London City Airport in July 2022.
Lee was ordered to pay £2,500 compensation to Leah Gordon for attacking and behaving in an abusive way towards her plus £750 to her colleague within three months, having earlier pleaded guilty to being drunk on the aircraft, for which he was handed a four-month jail term to run concurrently.
He had been described as 'slurring his words and staggering around' after downing an entire bottle of port in a lounge at Glasgow Airport before his flight.
After he was refused more alcohol on the plane and told to return to his seat, Lee had approached Leah from behind, saying he needed a kiss from her before he got off the plane.
He made comments about her looks, calling her a 'chocolate cookie' before grabbing her wrists.
Police footage showed Lee 'snarling' and swearing at officers, while video of the arrest played in court showed him crying on the floor and repeatedly saying 'I've done nothing wrong'.
He was also warned several times by PC Bryett to stop trying to bite him.
Leah told Ealing Magistrates' Court that Lee initially called her 'beautiful' and put his sunglasses on her face.
She said: 'He was making comments about my complexion, "you're my chocolate darling, my chocolate cookie, and I'm going to have your chocolate children".'
Leah said Ryan later approached her from behind, saying: 'Before I get off this plane I need a kiss from you.'
After telling him to 'stay away', she said he grabbed both her wrists before passengers intervened.
She said: 'He was towering over me, like he was leaning in to give me a kiss. He said to me "I want your chocolate children".
'I was intimidated, I felt a bit embarrassed like I wasn't doing my duty properly. To get comments about my colour whether intentional or not, it was just unacceptable and so derogatory. I just felt like it wasn't fair and I shouldn't have to put up with it. I don't go to work to be assaulted or harassed.'
Luke Bowyer, prosecuting told the court: 'You've got a celebrity who believes he is entitled to harassing a woman.'
Lee, who was tearful in the dock before giving evidence, told the court his actions were merely 'playful' and denied use of the word chocolate was racist.
He said he drank a whole bottle of port and ate cheese in the BA lounge after the flight was delayed and recalled 'annoying' a passenger next to him by asking what book he was reading, with no recollection of what occurred after that.
He told police officers in an interview, read to the court: 'I wish I could ring her up and apologise and offer her some Blue tickets for the next tour.'
The pop star went on: 'I'm sorry. My band member is black, I'm not racist, I've had black girlfriends, mixed-race girlfriends. It was banter, just drunk banter I suppose, there was no malice or intention to upset anyone.'
Lee added: 'I didn't mean to cause any distress to anyone or be racist, it was just a poor choice of words I suppose.'
He also claimed to have said 'chocolate chip cookie', adding: 'They're white, there was no malice in them [the comments].
He added: 'I am sorry that I touched her, but that's all I did, touch her lightly, by her admission.'
The bench at Ealing Magistrates' Court found the 'racially aggravated element was proved', with chair Mr Badral saying: 'We believe the language was demeaning and derogatory. We cannot accept the choice of the wording was simple banter.'
Passing sentence at Isleworth Crown Court, His Honour Judge Nicholas Wood told Lee that he was fortunate to avoid an immediate custodial sentence - adding that the term was being suspended because of the remorse he had shown and because of the singer's psychological condition.
The judge told Lee: 'You caused more than minor psychological distress to Ms Gordon. It was your decision and your decision alone to get drunk.'
He added: 'You brought shame on yourself for this. I think you are aware of that.'
'The language you used may be acceptable in the entertainment industry, but it has no place on an aircraft being directed by cabin crew.'
Judge Wood added that while the incident only lasted 10 or 15 minutes: 'It seemed like a lifetime for everybody on that plane.'
But explaining his reasons for not handing Lee a custodial sentence, the judge said he was swayed by a number of psychological reports which detailed the singer's mental condition.
These showed that he has been diagnosed with Autistic Spectrum Disorder; Post Traumatic Stress Disorder; Dyslexia; ADHD and also struggles with alcohol abuse.
A psychologist also claimed that Lee was prone to risky behaviour and also had a lack of insight about how to deal with 'personal dynamics.'
Judge Nicholas Wood told Lee that he was fortunate to avoid an immediate custodial sentence - adding that the term was being suspended because of the remorse he had shown and because of the singer's psychological condition (pictured in 2019)
Judge Wood said: 'If he [Lee] didn't have these [disorders] he would have been better able to interpret the situation that he should not have boarded a plan drunkenly.
'Suffering from these impairments and disorders has reduced your culpability.'
The judge said that he had also handed Lee a suspended sentence because he believed that the incident had 'brought him to his senses.'
He added: 'I believe that no further offending is likely to take place from you, this has brought you to your senses. It's a shame that it was in such serious circumstances and that you caused such grief to those on the plane.'
While he added that he also took into account Lee's domestic situation and that he had a third child on the way, which also led to him imposing a suspended sentence.

Ryan was disqualified from driving for 12 months and fined £660 as he appeared at Peterborough Magistrates' Court via remote link from Spain.
He was charged with breaking a 60mph limit twice on an A-road in August 2020. These charges were dismissed because the prosecution offered no evidence due to there being no means of proving who was driving.
But Ryan went on trial for two counts of failing to give information relating to the identification of the driver when required, and was found guilty.
Lee Bee Ltd was placed into voluntary liquidation due to owing the amount, including an estimated £15,000 to HMRC and £50,000 to Metro Bank.

Olympo – Season 1 Episode 2 'Crying or Winning' Recap & Review

Crying or Winning Episode 2 of Olympo season 1 starts with Zoe and the others trying to resuscitate Nuria. A medical team soon arrives and rushes Nuria to the hospital on site. Amaia refuses to leave and waits for news about Nuria's condition. Zoe joins her, too. The doctor informs them that Nuria is stable, but they can't see her yet. Amaia begs the doctor to run a doping test on Nuria. Zoe is offended and confronts Amaia for saying this. The doctor kicks them out and later calls someone, asking what they gave Nuria. The doctor adds that Nuria's condition is serious. The following morning, Zoe wakes up after having a nightmare about her accident. Renata continues to ignore her. Meanwhile, everyone gets ready to start their day. Roque wakes up to hate comments under his post with the closeted guy. However, he focuses his attention on helping Amaia, who insists on seeing Nuria. The doctor refuses to let them in. Amaia tries to contact Isabel, but she is off campus. Amaia ends up late for her practice, and everyone, including the coach, criticises her. In the locker room, the closeted guy punches Roque. Thankfully, Charlie and Sebas intervene before things escalate. Sebas asks Roque to be careful about his social media presence. On the other side, the coaches worry about Nuria. Amaia tries to bring up the doping subject, but everyone assumes she is jealous of Nuria. At the running field, Zoe fakes an injury to avoid training. In the meantime, Christiana interrupts the artistic swimming training session to talk to Amaia. He tells her that he is leaving, and she makes it all about herself. She accuses him of not putting in enough effort. However, she assures him that nothing has changed between them. In the physio, Zoe shares her concern over Nuria with Renata. Still, Renata doesn't talk to her. Charlie gets on with his usual antics and starts strip dancing. Zoe also strips and gets in the hot tub with Sebas, Fatima and Charlie. They are all curious about Zoe's Olympo sponsorship. Jennifer comes to her defence and takes Zoe away. They head to the sauna, where the other athletes are playing, Would You Rather. The conversation switches to Nuria, and Zoe zeroes in on Amaia. She doesn't mince her words, but Jennifer asks her to stop. Amaia stands up for herself, and another trainer walks in to stop the debate. After this, Renata follows Zoe as she escapes to the woods. She finds Zoe smoking a blunt and takes it from her. Zoe starts chasing her, forgetting she is supposed to have an ankle injury. Renata finally confronts her and warns her to change her attitude before she loses her sponsorship. Zoe comes clean about her legal issues and asks Renata to help her. Back at the centre, Amaia and Roque try to get Isabel so they can see Nuria. Christian is about to leave, but Amaia opts to focus on Nuria instead. She finds Isabel, who takes her to see Nuria. Amaia is shocked to see Nuria unconscious, with Hugo holding her hands. The medical team is forced to drag her out as she cries. In the end, she misses her chance to say goodbye to Christian. Christian is hurt, but Fatima starts flirting with him. Iker picks him up and refuses to wait for Amaia. During the ride, Iker speeds up to teach Christian a lesson about not giving up. Out of fear, Christian agrees that he will stop being a crybaby and focus on winning. Instead of driving back home, Iker switched their destination. On the football field, Javier demotes Roque as the captain and promotes Charlie. Roque confronts him about it, and Javier refuses to tell him the real reason behind the demotion. Roque figures it might be because of the social media post. Roque also overhears Jennifer talking to someone about a doping drug. He sees Jeniffer take something while the other girl refuses to take the drug, saying she doesn't want to turn out like Nuria. During the sparing session, Roque takes down Charlie. Charlie asks Sebas to take down Roque for him. He tries to use a homophobic slur to instigate Roque. However, Sebas seems to take offence too. During the sparring, Roque notices Sebas getting a hard-on and realises that Sebas is gay. On the running field, the coach punishes Zoe by asking her to do more laps. He also shares some sad news with Renata, who starts crying. Zoe questions what is going on, but no one tells her anything. It seems Renata doesn't like being teamed up with Zoe. Later that night, a group of athletes sneak out to a cabin near the school. They start drinking and playing some drinking games. Amaia and Roque discuss the Nuria situation and Roque's dating life. Roque reveals he is over the other guy and into Sebas. Charlie flirts with Amaia, but she turns him down. Sadly, Sebas and Zoe sneak off to the woods to have sex. Sebas fails to get a hard-on, but Zoe plays it cool and assures him it is okay. At the same time, the other guy starts kissing another girl to rile Roque up. Things get intense when Zoe and Amaia go up against each other in a game. Amaia calls Zoe a fraud, and the latter pretty much calls Zoe a friend killer. This triggers Amaia to pour her drink on Zoe and storm off. Roque follows her out and comforts her. He assures her that Nuria's accident was not her fault and agrees to take her to see Nuria. Back at the centre. Renata takes a video of the medical team rushing Nuria to get emergency help. They put Nuria on a helicopter and take off. The Episode Review As we suspected, there is more to Nuria's accident than what meets the eye. At the centre of all this is Hugo. He looks saddened to see Nuria unconscious, but there is a hint of regret on his face, too. He likely wanted to secretly train Nuria to outperform Amaia. His plan was most likely to give Nuria the sponsorship, too. We still don't know why he gave Zoe a sponsorship. There is also evidence that more athletes at the centre are doping, but no one wants to come forward. With Nuria's condition getting critical, maybe someone will. The trainers and staff at this centre are also keeping secrets. Some of them already know about the doping but are protecting the person behind it. Who did the doctor call to ask what they gave Nuria? It is also suspicious how Javier benched Roque and demoted him. In retrospect, I think Zoe is agonising Amaia over the Nuria issue because she feels guilty over whatever happened with Yaiza. She is projecting her guilt onto Amaia. Once we find out more about both accidents, we will be able to understand both characters. As for matters of the heart, things are getting complicated. Amaia didn't see Christian off, and he was probably mourning their relationship. She loves him, but has a lot going on. It is no excuse, and we hope they can solve their issues. Meanwhile, Roque is crushing on Sebas, but Sebas is not even ready to accept himself, let alone think of making a move on Roque. While we are on this, it was nice of Zoe to keep Sebas secret, and she didn't shame him. She made him comfortable and assured him that it was okay. Previous Episode Next Episode

Olympo – Season 1 Episode 1 'This Is Not Olympics Level' Recap & Review

This Is Not Olympics Level Episode 1 of Olympo season 1 starts with a girl working out. Her instructors remark that she is doing better than they expected. She is surpassing all her records and seems locked in. Elsewhere, two girls are also exercising together. After setting a new record, they start celebrating. A man and a woman approach them and invite them to their High Performance Centre. It is a training centre where athletes do nothing but train. Zoe is not too excited about the offer, but Yaiza is jumping for joy. To celebrate, Zoe starts smoking a blunt. They promise it is the last smoke they will have. The scene cuts to an accident scene and Zoe yelling, 'Yaiza !' Presently, we see Zoe's parents driving her to the HPC. She begs them not to leave her there, but they ignore her. They want her to take advantage of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. While standing there, looking lost, Zoe meets Nuria. Nuria is friendly and offers to give Zoe a tour. Zoe worries if she will get enough training since a lot of the athletes there are good-looking. All things considered, this looks like a dream training centre for most athletes. The centre has all the top-tier resources needed to train a star athlete. Nuria introduces Zoe to her best friend, Amaia. Amaia is the star of the artistic swimming team. Everyone excitedly welcomes Nuria back, and we learn she was out to treat a shoulder sprain. As the tour continues, we are introduced to Christian, Amaia's boyfriend. Christian's brother is also a former Olympo star. Christian hopes to live up to his legacy. There is Roque; he is gay and friends with both Christian and Amaia. There seems to be tension between Jennifer and Zoe. It seems they know each other since Jenifer brings up Zoe's records. Everyone seems shocked to know Zoe broke a record and might be heading to the Olympics. As they talk, people start rushing towards the windows. It turns out a few people from Olympo are at the centre to give some athletes sponsorship. They will only pick three athletes, and everyone thinks that Amaia will be their top pick. Isabel, the director, welcomes the Olympo group, and there seems to be something going on between one of the Olympos and Nuria. While the Olympo people settle in, Christian and Amaia sneak off to make out. As they get busy, Amaia's mom calls. She ignores the call, but her mom keeps calling back. In the end, she gives up and picks up the call. Her mom, a former failed athlete, advises Amaia to cut Nuria loose. She calls Nuria to lose weight and claims she is holding back Amaia. Amaia tries to defend Nuria, but her mom says the latter was on vacation. The call spoils the mood, and Nuria walks in on the couple. Amaia confronts her about the truth of where she has been for the last week. Nuria refuses to tell her, and Amaia orders her to go to the physio. Amaia refuses to team up with Nuria and looks like a fool in front of the federation. Nuria tries to convince her she is ready, but Amaia doesn't let up. Later, the coach notices Nuria is missing and sends someone to get her. In the meantime, she has Fatima do the duet with Amaia. Meanwhile, Zoe struggles to settle in and messes up during training. Her coach teams her up with Renata. Unfortunately, Renata refuses to acknowledge Zoe or even talk to her. On the football team, Roque warms up with Charlie, who is homophobic. Christian nearly gets injured, and the coach gives him the bad news that he is cut from the programme. The coach, Javier, thinks his physique and strength are an issue. All these unfold in front of the Olympo federation team. Isabel sees Nuria hugging Hugo, one of the guys from Olympo. Nuria insinuates that Amaia might be onto them, and the guy questions if it is time to come clean. Hugo later approaches Zoe after she falls while doing a high jump. Within a few minutes, everyone learns that Zoe is the first sponsorship pick. Amaia acts like she is okay, but goes to her room. Christian arrives to tell her about being cut from the team, but she jumps his bones. They end up having sex, and Amaia runs late for her training session. Unfortunately, Christian is unable to tell her that he is leaving. Amaia returns to training, and the coach warns her that Nuria was not at the physio. The coach is ready to cut Nuria off the team if she doesn't up her game. They begin practising the duet, pairing Amaia with Peque. Peque loses her breath, and Amaia loses her patience with her. Peque storms off, and Amaia shortly follows her. As Amaia tries to comfort Peque, a drug bottle falls and rolls to where she is standing. Amaia realises that Peque has been doping and confronts her. Peque begs her not to tell the coach. Against her better judgment, Amaia keeps Peque's secret, and they return to the training session. On the other side of the centre, Roque secretly hooks up with a guy and takes an afterglow selfie. Roque suggests posting it on social media, but the guy refuses and leaves. Later, Roque vents to Christian, and the latter sneakily grabs Roque's phone and posts the picture. The conversation turns to Christian's dilemma and how he is yet to talk to Amaia about leaving the centre. He leaves the next day and hopes to talk to Amaia after training. At the gym, Zoe tries to get some exercise while Renata continues to ignore her. Sebas and Charlie corner her and express their frustration with her getting the scholarship. Nuria helps Zoe out and tells her to be careful of the jealous people at the centre. Zoe can't understand why everyone is obsessed with winning and dislikes the centre. Nuria reveals that Amaia helped her a lot when she came to the centre. Nuria urges Zoe to find her person at the centre. This triggers Zoe, and she packs her things and announces to Renata that she is leaving. She doesn't get far before Hugo finds her and brings up the ongoing court battle after the accident. He insists that Zoe is heading for the Olympics, and Olympo wants to help her. He advises her to sign the sponsorship contract quickly and return to the centre. He doesn't even give her time to read the contract. He simply assures her that there is nothing to worry about. At the centre, Fatima talks to Nuria about the ongoing duet practice. Amaia is having everyone but Nuria try out for the duet. Zoe arrives to find Nuria getting into the water to challenge Amaia. However, Amaia is not pleased when Nuria pulls off the set. She demands that she do ten extra spins. Of course, Amaia thinks Nuria can't do it. Nuria accepts the challenge and does ten flying leg spins. Sadly, she goes unconscious and starts dropping towards the swimming pool floor. Amaia and Zoe jump into the pool to save her. The Episode Review This sports drama barely manages to grab our attention from the first episode, and a lot is going on with each character. Roque is sleeping with a closeted guy, but that doesn't excuse what he and Christian did. By posting that picture, they undoubtedly outed the guy. This guy may be a piece of work, but there is never an excuse to out someone, especially after they told you they don't feel comfortable coming out of the closet. We have Christian, who is preparing to leave the centre since he doesn't meet the qualifications. It is a pity that he won't be able to honour his brother's legacy. However, Christian is also worried about the future of his relationship with Amaia once he leaves. Speaking of Amaia, she comes off as obsessed with winning in this episode. We don't know much about her background, but she seems to take Nuria's secret personally. From the opening scene, we know that Nuria was training and not on medical leave. Hugo might be behind this, and they are keeping the truth from Amaia. Unfortunately, Nuria had an accident, and her fate remains unclear. Of course, we can't help but wonder whether Amaia pushed her too hard or if there is something else at play here. This episode also touched on doping and the pressure athletes have to perform well every time. Perhaps this is what Zoe finds overwhelming. Everyone is out to win, disregarding everything else. Zoe lost her fighting spirit after the accident with her friend. What happened to her friend, and why is Zoe facing a court charge? Hugo made her sign the contract too quickly, and it might bite her in the future. There is something off about Hugo. Lastly, now that Zoe is at the centre, will she find her competitive spirit again?

Michelle Obama's cruel parenting insult against Barack as she vacations without him in Europe

Michelle Obama made a snide jibe at her husband Barack as she shared how she is 'so glad' the pair never had a son because he would've been just like his father. The former first lady made the shocking remark on Wednesday's episode of her podcast IMO, which she co-hosts with her older brother Craig Robinson. It came up as the siblings discussed societal views on masculinity and challenges parents face as raising boys with radio host Angie Martinez. 'People say mothers raise their girls and love their sons,' Michelle, 61, said. 'And I'd say love your son, but raise him too - raise him to be as strong as you know he's going to have to be.' She rattled off a slew of tips for raising men before Martinez interrupted: 'You should've threw a boy in the mix.' 'I'm so glad I didn't have a boy,' she quickly shot back. Martinez, through her laughter, asked: 'Why didn't you throw in a third?' 'Because he would've been a Barack Obama,' the Becoming author replied. 'Baby Barack! It would've been amazing!' Martinez squealed, but Michelle doubled down, saying 'oh, no, I would've felt for him'. The remark comes amid swirling rumors about the state of the power couple's 33 year marriage. Earlier this week Michelle was spotted having lunch with a surprising date at an exclusive club in Mallorca. Barack, however, was noticeably absent. Michelle last month dismissed speculation about marital issues and addressed the rumors head on during an episode of The Diary of a CEO. 'If I were having problems with my husband, everybody would know about it,' she told the podcast. She also recently appeared on Matt Rogers and Bowen Yang's Las Culturistas podcast and made it clear she doesn't like being referred to as 'Mrs. Obama'. During their sit-down, Matt revealed that before cameras started rolling, Michelle had asked him not to call her 'Mrs. Obama.' 'Earlier I was like, "Thank you so much, Mrs. Obama," and you said, "Michelle,"' Rogers said. 'I did say that,' Michelle responded with a laugh, before explaining why she likes to avoid the name. 'We cannot have a real conversation if you're saying, "Mrs Obama," that's too many syllables.' Matt then asked if she is usually quick to 'put down that shield for people,' and Michelle claimed that she's generally tries to appear less intimidating. 'I was trying to do that when I was first lady because I just think... I am not that position. I am Michelle,' she explained. 'I'm always trying to break down that wall to say, "We're just all here." And the first thing to do is like, let's drop that title, that's a little heavy.' The couple's eldest daughter Malia has also dropped her famous surname and is now going by Malia Ann professionally. Michelle has publicly supported Malia's decision, emphasizing that she wants her daughter to 'carve her own path' and 'make her way'. Rumors that Michelle and Barack's marriage is on the rocks were fueled by her noticeable absence from several high-profile events this year; including January's presidential inauguration and the funeral of former President Jimmy Carter. In March, Michelle also skipped their usual courtside seats at the NBA All-Star Game. The couple were spotted out on a date night in NYC in May, after having also been seen going out to dinner in DC the month before. Social media and the tabloids have all served to amplify claims that the couple may soon be heading for a split. On a recent podcast Michelle revealed how she is in therapy to help her transition to what she thinks is the 'next phase' of her life. During the episode, Michelle acknowledged that marriage is 'hard' for her and the former president but added that 'I wouldn't trade it,' calling President Obama, 'as the young people say... my person.' 'The beauty of my husband and our partnership is that neither one of us was ever really, ever going to quit at it, because that's not who we are. And I know that about him. He knows that about me.' Michelle has been open about her marriage struggles throughout the years, particularly on her and Robinson's podcast IMO. She has also discussed being an 'empty nester' and admitted to getting 'some help' as she heads into her 60s. 'At this phase of my life, I'm in therapy right now because I'm transitioning, you know?' she said on a recent episode of On The Jay Shetty Podcast. 'I'm 60 years old, I've finished a really hard thing in my life with my family intact, I'm an empty nester, my girls are in - you know, they've been launched,' she said. Michelle said that she's got 'other voices' to talk to and a 'new person that's getting to know me' as she works through things. Being out of public service, she now finds herself in a situation where 'every choice that I'm making is completely mine.' 'I now don't have the excuse of, "Well, my kids need this" or "My husband needs that" or "The country needs that."' She says that therapy is a 'tune-up for this next phase' in an attempt to 'unwind some old habits and 'sort through some old guilt,' along with focusing on her relationship with her own mother.
