Former Wanderer Owen Beck joins Championship side on loan deal
Beck joined the Whites in the summer of 2022 and went on to make nine first-team appearances.
The left-back had been playing catch-up on the rest of the squad following a stint in Portugal and was recalled by Liverpool midway through the campaign.
He spent the following season at Dundee United, gaining valuable experience in the Scottish Premiership.
Beck spent last term at Blackburn Rovers, getting his first taste of Championship football and playing 25 times before his campaign was cut short by injury.
The Welshman now reunites with John Eustace, who brought him to Ewood Park before taking over at Derby in February.

Eustace kept the Rams up and has brought in the likes of Patrick Agyemang and Carlton Morris this summer as the club aims to kick on. He also signed Danny Batth and Andi Weimann on free transfers from his former club.
When asked about Beck earlier this week, Eustace told Derbyshire Live: "He's a really exciting young player and I was very fortunate to work with him last year.
"I think everyone could see the growth he made playing in the Championship, and he's a super young, talented player and he's one of the most exciting full-backs in the country for his age at the moment.
"He's just a very good young player. There is a lot to improve, and if he comes to Derby and chooses to come to us, our job is to help develop him.
"That's my job and the coach's job in that, whichever player comes to the football club, no matter how old or how young they are, they're coming into an environment where they're going to improve, get better, and to make sure that, on a Saturday, they're very competitive."

Liverpool commission permanent Diogo Jota tribute at Anfield
Liverpool have commissioned a sculpture to be made in honour of Diogo Jota outside Anfield after the thousands of floral tributes to their No.20 were gradually removed in recent days. And the Reds players were wear a specially-designed patch with 'Diogo J 20' stitched on in honour of their team-mate across the two games in the Far East, starting with AC Milan at the Kai Tak Stadium on Saturday evening (12.30pm UK time). A floral tribute will also be laid before kick-off at the pre-season games in Hong Kong, Tokyo and Anfield. Jota and his younger brother, Andre Silva, were involved in a fatal car crash in north-west Spain earlier this month as the Portugal international attempted to make his way back to Merseyside for the start of pre-season training. READ MORE: Eddie Howe speaks out on Alexander Isak future as Newcastle striker eyes Liverpool move READ MORE: Liverpool role reversed after Alexander Isak's latest move in transfer chase The club have since retired the popular Portuguese's No.20 squad number across all levels and have now announced a number of further tributes for a player who joined from Wolves in September 2020. Floral tributes that were left outside Anfield following the passing of the striker will now be composted and used in flower beds across all club sites, including Anfield, the AXA Training Centre and AXA Melwood Training Centre. The remaining artefacts are set to be recycled by a specialist company and used to help create a permanent memorial for Jota, that will become a future focal point of remembrance at Anfield. The design itself remains the subject of dialogue. In the meantime, a temporary area of reflection has been created outside the ground itself so people can continue to pay their respects. Any supporters paying to have Jota's name on their shirts will see their payment donated to the LFC Foundation and when the club's new Adidas kits are launched on August 1, Reds players will display their own tribute with a specially made 'Forever 20' emblem printed into their shirts and stadium jackets, which will remain in place for the season. The LFC Foundation has also committed to creating a grassroots football programme in Diogo's name, while a special fan mosaic and a minute of silence is being planned for the first game of the Premier League season, against Bournemouth at Anfield on Friday August 15.

Young shows his class as wayward Dockers crush Eagles
Fremantle midfielder Hayden Young has showcased what a weapon he will be in the club's AFL premiership push as the Dockers brushed aside West Coast by 49 points in a fiery western derby clash. Young tallied 23 disposals, seven clearances, three goals and 555m gained to win the Glendinning-Allan Medal in the 18.18 (126) to 12.5 (77) triumph in front of 54,384 fans at Optus Stadium on Saturday. The 24-year-old came on as the sub in his first game back from hamstring surgery in last week's one-point win over Collingwood, but he was unleashed from the very start of Saturday's game before being subbed out early in the last. Hayden Young is so classy 👌#AFLFreoEagles — AFL (@AFL) July 26, 2025 Young was the dominant figure of the opening term, and his ruthlessness in front of goal when his teammates continually missed was another sign of just how important he is to the club's flag push. Michael Frederick kicked a career-high four goals, Andrew Brayshaw racked up 32 disposals and eight clearances, while rising star Murphy Reid (23 disposals, one goal) tallied a whopping 15 score involvements. Four-time Glendinning-Allan Medallist Caleb Serong had to work hard for his 20 disposals and eight clearances under a tight tag from Brady Hough. For West Coast, defender Reuben Ginbey kept Josh Treacy goalless from nine disposals, Tim Kelly found form with 26 disposals, eight clearances and two goals, and Harley Reid (15 disposals, three clearances, two goals) battled hard amidst the boos. Reid limped off in the dying minutes and headed to the change rooms after being crunched in a tackle by Karl Worner. The win keeps Fremantle (13-6) within percentage of the top four, while West Coast (1-18) have lost nine on the trot and are headed for their second wooden spoon in three seasons. West Coast were forced into a late change when defender Harry Edwards injured his hamstring in the warm-up, Harley Reid was target No.1 in the opening quarter. First, he was involved in a wrestle with Fremantle veteran Jaeger O'Meara. Then later in the term, he was caught unaware when he was flattened in an off-the-ball bump from Patrick Voss (three goals). West Coast kept pace with Fremantle early, but two goals in a minute to Frederick, followed by two goals in a minute to Young, blew the scoreboard out to 40-12 by quarter-time. Fremantle's 14-7 clearance count in the opening quarter was ominous, with Young tallying 10 disposals, five clearances and two goals in a brilliant individual display. Frederick's third goal stretched the margin to 35 points early in the third quarter, but a dose of Harley Reid magic gave Eagles fans something to smile about. Reid received a handpass on the wing and took a running bounce before nailing a goal from 47m. Harley Reid is an absolute star 🤩#AFLFreoEagles — AFL (@AFL) July 26, 2025 Fremantle dominated the rest of the quarter, but their wasteful return of 1.6 meant the half-time margin was only 22 points. The Dockers' wobbles continued early in the third quarter as West Coast cut the margin to 18 points. But goals to Jye Amiss and Voss - each of which was followed by a mini melee - gave Fremantle breathing space, before Young added another later in the quarter. Fremantle blew the margin wide open with the first four goals of the final term.

'There are things going on' - Eddie Howe provides update on Alexander Isak amid intense Liverpool & Al-Hilal transfer talk as Newcastle boss makes telling admission on striker's future
Howe gives his verdict on Isak situation Decision to make for Newcastle Swedish striker reportedly wants to leave Follow GOAL on WhatsApp! 🟢📱 WHAT HAPPENED? Magpies manager Howe gave his honest views on the situation surrounding his star centre-forward, who has reportedly informed the club that he wants to leave. Howe admitted that contract talks are not currently going ahead between Newcastle and Isak, though that "could be for a later date". THE BIGGER PICTURE Isak has been linked with a record-breaking move to Liverpool for some time now, but Newcastle always shut down any talk and claimed he was not going anywhere this summer. This may have changed since reports emerged on Thursday that Isak wants to leave St James' Park and explore moves elsewhere. The Magpies now have a big decision to make about whether to let him go or offer him the contract he wants in the hope he changes his mind. WHAT HOWE SAID Howe said: "I wouldn't put a timescale on it. I think with these situations it has to be right for the football club, and everything then is taken into context below that. But the club will make the right decision with all the information that it has, and ultimately to try and move the club forward in whatever way that is. Then it's up to us to make good decisions the other way and try and improve the squad as best we can. That's what we're trying to do, regardless of Alex's situation. "But I think there's a wider picture here. There's a whole football club that has to make the decision. The ownership, together with the board of directors, especially with the money involved in modern day transfers. The manager of course has an opinion, but ultimately the decision will rest with the board. "Of course there's things going on behind the scenes (with Alex). He will be aware he's in the news every day, and I'm sure that's not easy for anyone in that situation. Conversations that happen between Alex and the club or Alex and myself will stay private for obvious reasons. We do share a really good relationship with him. "He's been magnificent for us and he's very popular in the dressing room. We'd love him to continue his journey at Newcastle. I certainly hope he stays. And I said [last weekend] I was confident that he'd stay. I don't see anything that's going to change that opinion of mine at the moment, but it's football and who knows what the future may bring. "All I would say on the broader picture is whatever happens has to be right for Newcastle. We're in a very strong position financially. We're determined to be successful. We are ambitious. We've got a great season ahead of us. We need to add to the squad and continue to improve, and the journey can continue in an upward trajectory. "As far as I'm aware, I don't think there are any contract talks taking place at the moment," he added. "That'll be for a later date potentially. I think for now, with the situation as it is and the state of the window, in the sense that it's hurtling towards the end of the window very quickly, from our perspective, there's still so much that could happen." WHAT NEXT FOR ISAK, HOWE AND NEWCASTLE? As Howe suggested, this situation may not be resolved for a little while yet. While Sweden international Isak dreams of a big move away after not joining Newcastle on pre-season tour due to a "minor thigh injury", the club need to spend some time considering what they would do if they were to lose him. There would be a huge influx of cash which would need to be spent wisely on improving Howe's side as the Magpies prepare for Champions League football next season.
