Sunrise host Natalie Barr sizzles in a swimsuit as she plunges into freezing ice bath live on air

Daily Mail29-04-2025
Sunrise host Natalie Barr showed off her incredible figure as she plunged into an ice bath live during Tuesday's breakfast program.
The presenter, 57, and her co-host Matt Shirvington were chatting to Australian boxer Harry Garside about using the bath for muscle recovery.
Natalie then stripped into a black swimsuit as she agreed to jump into an ice bath with the sports star.
Before getting into the water, Harry explained: 'Ice baths are obviously exceptional for athletes. But I also think breath work in general is good to calm yourself in chaos.
'Boxing is so chaotic. It's so full on. You get into an ice bath and something similar and you can control yourself with a breath.'
Matt then said: 'Well jump in guys when you're ready. Good luck.'
After getting into the ice bath, Natalie joked the feeling was so uncomfortable that she felt like she was going into childbirth.
She continued to breath loudly, before admitting: 'I hate this.'
After getting out of the bath, Natalie explained 'it was really cold on the legs and really hurts the legs' before asking Harry how he felt.
'I feel it in my feet and calves the most. I think because it's the furthest thing from the heart so the blood circulation isn't getting there,' he said.
'But honestly I feel amazing right now. I feel like I've had a double shot of coffee.'
It comes after Natalie slammed those who booed Welcome to Country at Melbourne 's Anzac Day Dawn Service last week.
Thousands of people had turned out in the city's quiet, pre-dawn darkness on Friday to commemorate those who paid the ultimate sacrifice.
But it was a group of between six and ten people whose heckles and boos during Bunurong elder Mark Brown's Welcome to Country who cast a shadow over what was supposed to be a touching commemoration.
Natalie strongly condemned the behaviour, calling it 'disgusting' and saying she didn't care if people were tired of 'Welcome to Country' ceremonies.
'Save your protests.
'We do not care what you are sick of. Today is not the day to share it.'
The small group's voices were picked up by microphones and loudspeakers during the Welcome to Country, clearly audible to the hushed crowd and broadcast media.
'It's our country!' one yelled. 'We don't have to be welcomed,' screamed another.
The boos and shouts lasted the entire three minutes of the address, with Mr Brown never seeming to waver.
Victorian Governor Margaret Gardner delivered the official Anzac Day address after, which acknowledged Aboriginal Australians - prompting further boos.
'How many more? This is s***,' one man reportedly shouted.
A woman then shouted 'always was, always will be' - before the crowd erupted with applause and helped drown out the disquiet.

Inside Katie Price and Peter Andre's bitter 16-year feud and comments that pushed star to explode as exes go to war

FROM reality TV sweethearts to bitter legal battles, Katie Price and Peter Andre's war of words has spanned 16 years. And, judging by recent events, it's far from over. 8 Peter Andre and Katie Price's bitter war has exploded Credit: Getty - Contributor 8 The exes got married in 2005 after meeting on I'm A Celebrity Credit: ITV 2 8 Katie and Peter welcomed baby boy Junior later that year Credit: PA:Press Association Their romance began in the Australian jungle, where Katie and Peter fell in love during I'm a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! in 2004. They were Britain's golden couple - marrying in 2005 at Highclere Castle, welcoming two children, Junior and Princess, and sharing their life with the public. But since their 2009 split, the pair have been locked in one of the most public celebrity feuds of the past two decades. Last night Peter hit out at his ex's "lies" in a shock social media rant, after remaining mostly silent on the feud for more than a decade. Peter, 52, issued a scathing statement rejecting Katie's call for a truce — and making explosive claims about their past. Katie broke her silence and hit back, declaring she 'will no longer be gaslighted and bullied' and that the issue is 'now in her lawyers' hands.' Peter Andre's statement in full Peter hit back after Katie's claims on her recent podcast that she was being frozen out of Princess's career - despite Princess living with her. Peter wrote on Instagram: "For sixteen years I have stayed silent in the face of repeated lies from my ex-wife and her family, out of respect for my children and loved ones, but staying silence has been incredibly frustrating. "That ends today. "The latest comments about my children's welfare and living arrangements compel me to set the record straight. "For well-documented reasons, and for their safety, Junior and Princess came into my care in 2018 and remained with me until they reached adulthood. "In 2019, the family courts issued a legally binding order to enforce this arrangement. I have never made this public before out of respect for my children." "In 2011 and 2015, publicly documented court cases found my ex wife had made false claims. She was ordered to pay substantial damages and legal costs, and to apologise, to me and my management. "The same falsehoods are being repeated today." "Unfortunately, there are many more lies and baseless accusations that I have yet to address. Those will be dealt with in the coming months." His statement came just hours after Katie claimed that Princess was living with her on her latest podcast. She said: "I've missed out so much with Princess. I haven't watched the show, but, people have told me how proud I should be of the kids and how they Princess does talk highly of me all the way through it so although I'm not in the show she speaks about me all the time which is really sweet. "But why wouldn't she, because she lives with me. And this is another thing I need to clear up, the kids have never lived just with Pete, we've shared the kids." Here's how the feud unfolded over the years. Libel damages (2011) Two years after their split Katie issued a public apology after accusing Peter of cheating and faking his feelings during their marriage. He had begun defamation proceedings in 2009 over remarks she made to Heat magazine and on The Graham Norton Show. Katie was ordered to pay 'substantial' damages, which Peter's solicitor confirmed would go into a trust fund for Katie's eldest son, Harvey Price. Fake family man claims (2013) 8 Katie, with Pete and Harvey in 2004 Credit: Rex That Christmas, Katie appeared to target Peter in a series of tweets. She said: 'What kind of Dad doesn't let their children see their mum not even 1 day over Christmas when the children want 2 c their mum #fakefamilyman.' She also messaged a follower, saying: 'So selfish. Can someone remind him he has a son called Harvey that calls him dad or was that just for show too'. Calling Emily Andre 'disgusting' (2022) In early 2022, Katie launched an Instagram tirade against Peter's wife, Dr Emily Andre, before quickly deleting the post. She shared Emily's magazine cover shoot and branded her a 'disgusting person', writing: 'My mouth has been shut for so long but I've had enough of people selling stories on me and particularly this so called woman @dr_emily_official. 'Always said I don't want to be famous yet doesn't do too bad to stay away from media and TV and now trying to make a career out of it. 'So cringe she has used my children to make money in photo shoots yet covers her own children's faces up!' 8 Peter married Emily in 2015 and they have three kids Credit: Instagram / @peterandre Katie also claimed Emily is a doctor who 'doesn't have a clue about a mental health" and accused her of being 'jealous.' She went on: 'Oh and stopped my daughter from visiting me at The Priory when she wanted to see her mum. She is so jealous of my relationship I have with Princess and puts me down. 'Emily you are not and never will be my kids' parent so mind your own business… I think you're a disgusting person so stop trying to interfere in my life.' Branding Pete 'a nobody' (2024) Appearing on the podcast Anything Goes with James English last year, Katie claimed Peter 'was no one before he went in the jungle'. She added: 'When we did jobs together I'd always get more money, make sure we had separate contracts. 'I think he found that a bit hard as well. I was like well hang on you've just turned up in the jungle, I've already got a career going on. You had a song like, how many years ago? you need to earn it. this is the truth, I don't care what anyone says I made Pete again. I made him. 8 Katie said it was his 'lucky day' when he met her in I'm A Celebrity Credit: Rex 'He was no one before he went in the jungle and that's the truth, that's not me being a b****. He done that one hit, like 10 years ago and I think he forgets where he came from.' Then on Louis Theroux's podcast that same year, Katie launched another blistering attack. Taking a swipe about his singing career, she said: 'Who was he? 'I was already like established. He met me and it was his lucky day. So we always had separate contracts. There's no way I'm splitting half and half, no thanks.' Asked if they were on good terms, she added bluntly: 'Don't speak to him.' When questioned on the reason, she said: 'Just don't. It's all through legals. 'He was quite jealous of me working.' Katie cut off (2025) 8 The Sun exclusively revealed the heartbreaking secret rift between mum Katie and daughter Princess Credit: Instagram 8 Telly bosses deliberately cut ex-glamour model Katie out of her daughter's forthcoming ITV2 show, The Princess Diaries Peter hit out after Katie claimed Princess was living with her on her latest podcast. She also claimed Pete had taken control of Princess's career and she had been cut off from supporting her. Princess launched her first reality series, The Princess Diaries, over the weekend, which was filmed earlier this year. Some scenes were filmed in Ibiza and Katie said she was banned from meeting up with Princess despite being on the island at the same time as her. She said: 'I've missed out so much with Princess. I haven't watched the show, but, people have told me how proud I should be of the kids and how they Princess does talk highly of me all the way through it so although I'm not in the show she speaks about me all the time which is really sweet 'But why wouldn't she, because she lives with me. And this is another thing I need to clear up, the kids have never lived just with Pete, we've shared the kids.' Katie has made her feelings clear on her show over recent months that she was annoyed she was 'banned' from appearing in Princess's ITV 2 reality show. And today, she has insisted that she's a 'bloody good mum" to her five children and wants to sit down with Pete to discuss their issues once and for all. The OnlyFans star said : 'There's no reason why both parents just can't be there to support her. Now this isn't about me. I have to clarify this. 'I don't care that I'm not in Princess's show. 'I don't need to raise my profile by being on Princess's show, I do enough stuff. 'All what I want to do, is just whatever my daughter does, and it's the same with Junior, I don't care if I'm in the background, but I want to watch her do her photo shoots, I wanna watch her do her signings, because that's what I did. 'And my mum and you and Nan used to come along and support, and I'm proud of her. 'And I just wanna be there with her because I now I feel that I've missed out on so much. 'Life would be more at peace because I don't have a problem. 'I just think life would be a better place. 'Well, I'm not saying we all have to be best buddies, best friends, but come on. 'For the sake of the children, there's room for everyone to support your kids. 'Do you know what I mean? I'm not saying I have to stand with them and play happy families.' Christopher Macarthur-Boyd's comedy set at the Fringe is razor-sharp

Monkey Barrel 3, until August 24, 9pm 'Stand-up's definitely a night-time thing.' It's a bold opening statement from Christopher Macarthur-Boyd. Especially when you consider that he's saying it to a matinee crowd. Extra shows have had to be shoe-horned in. Christopher's offering this year, Howling at the Moon, has been attracting audiences in much the same way he himself attracts Australian women. He reckons it's because they find his particular genre - small specky guy - incredibly rare and rather exotic. I'm convinced his superb Steve Irwin impersonation is doing some of the heavy lifting. It's a razor-sharp set from one of Scotland's top comedians. He's so supremely comfortable onstage. Except for the part where he's railing against modern restaurant seating. The words cool and stool may rhyme but they definitely don't belong together for the vertically-challenged. And if you think that physical comedy was good, just wait until you see his Komodo dragon. It's fire. Read more But it's Christopher's personal stories that stay with you. There're plenty of them. He and his butterfly brain flit from one to the other. A quick flick of his asymmetric fringe used as punctuation. Many of the tales are food-related. Vignettes from his childhood and adolescence. Musings on the minutiae of life. Chocolate cups, cuddles and Come Dine With Me, a straw in my Irn Bru, pants in my coffee. These could all be the titles of Alan Bennett's much-loved Talking Heads monologues. They are heart-achingly beautifully and belly-achingly funny. It's a confident but never cocky performance. Big subjects like sexuality and neurodiversity are tackled with trade-mark self-deprecation and honesty. His analogy of Haymarket and Waverley stations in a routine about gender fluidity was an absolute highlight for me. This set is so emotionally-intelligent it should have its own podcast. CMB should add it to his portfolio. It's educational hour. I learnt a new expression – pie-watching. For us Dundonians, that involves staring in the window of a bakery. Apparently for Glasgow school-kids in the '90's it meant something entirely different. I also learnt a new equality-based pejorative gesture that's going to be fun to use this Fringe. An absolute belter of a show. Other shows I recommend this week… Miriam Margolyes: Margoyles and Dickens: More Best Bits, EICC, five stars. Ian Smith: Foot Spa Half Empty, Monkey Barrel 1, four stars. Tiff Stevenson: Post-Coital, Hive 1, four stars. Jay Lafferty: Ooft! Stand 1, four stars. I don't think Materialists is a rom-com - it's something new entirely

Perhaps unexpectedly, a glossy and star-studded rom-com with Pedro Pascal is the film that has generated the most intense disagreements and backlash this summer – and I really don't get it. From those questioning the 'com' part of Materialists' description given some of the storyline's surprisingly darker elements to those raging at Dakota Johnson's character Lucy making the 'wrong' choice at the end, the feelings have been fiercely felt. Given its earlier June release in the US, we've already borne witness to the barrage of think pieces and annoyed social media posts from Stateside sceptics. But for me, Materialists is a stylish and thought-provoking examination of the modern dating scene and society's obsession with trying to commodify everything – except actual love. It also serves as proof that we should stop forcing romance films to fit within a rigidly narrow definition. Materialists is exactly the type of film I expected writer-director Celine Song to deliver after her poignant work in Past Lives about a missed and intensely nostalgic romantic connection, even if it's a little lighter and more superficial. It's clearly struck a nerve once more though, given the discourse it's provoked – and depending on your stage in life and romantic situation, you may find the savagery with which it skewers the prejudices people have in terms of dating preferences intensely triggering or oddly comforting. To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Johnson's Lucy works as a successful matchmaker in New York City, who has seen multiple clients to their end goal of walking down the aisle to a happily ever after, although she's currently struggling to get her favourite client Sophie (Zoë Winters) any dates. While attending the obscenely lavish wedding of one of her successes, wealthy brother of the groom Harry (Pascal) strikes up a conversation with her about matchmaking, leading to her amazing demystifying of the job as just like 'working at a morgue or an insurance company' in the way it deals with emotionless facts about a person's job and vital statistics. And as she's previously told a gaggle of interested female wedding guests, it's not actually about a second date or a wedding – 'You're looking for a nursing home partner, a grave buddy'. Harry is charmed and they agree to go on a date, but Lucy also bumps into her ex, John (Chris Evans), a struggling actor who is working a catering shift. He's not the type of man Lucy sees a future with, but there's clearly still a connection there. Each man offers something different, and it speaks volumes about Materialists that one of its most romantic lines is Harry telling Lucy 'I want to date you for your intangible assets' because he has 'enough material assets for the both of us'. Swoon! Song remains such an impressively smart writer – funny but substantial in a way that keeps you thinking about (or indeed, fuming over) the film long after you've watched it. The observations of Lucy's clients ring devastatingly true and preposterous, from the man insisting '39 is not 30s' of the woman he's been set up with, to the woman sniping 'is he actually 5'11 or 5'9 and lying?'. There's also a brutal exchange between Lucy and a matchmaking colleague about 'niches' people can fill in a competitive market, all finance speak as they agree 'six inches can double a man's value': the dialogue pulls no punches. Celine Song Celine Song Dakota Johnson, Pedro Pascal, Chris Evans, Louisa Jacobson, Zoë Winters, Marin Ireland 15 1hr 57m August 15, 2025 While there are certainly a few twists in Materialists I didn't expect, it is perhaps a more obvious story than that of Song's Oscar-nominated Past Lives – although they can absolutely be viewed as close relations. More Trending The film has a great cast in its heavyweight actors, which helps sell its aspirational and cinematic sheen, alongside a smooth soundtrack of perfectly picked pop. Pascal and his easy charm are the standout, although Johnson operates efficiently and sympathetically as the confused protagonist and – for many – audience surrogate. Materialists makes the perfect argument for the creation of a new film genre by Song: romantic realism. Ignoring the expectations you may have about a movie sold as a rom-com – and what that's allowed to be – gives the film more space to deliver its exquisitely crafted yet cutting observations without the noise of society complaining about the mirror it holds up to us. A sharp, smart and sometime uncomfortably accurate look at modern love and dating that might not go where you expect but still delivers satisfying entertainment. Materialists is in cinemas now.
