packages she never ordered. The situation became so extreme that her driveway turned into a towering wall of cardboard boxes. The parcels, mostly filled with faux leather car seat covers, arrived without explanation and piled up so high that she could no longer park her car or easily bring her elderly mother to the front door. Despite filing multiple complaints, Amazon offered little help for months. Eventually, it was revealed that a rogue Chinese seller had listed her home as its return address, triggering a nightmare of never-ending deliveries.
Amazon's return loophole turns a home into a dumping ground
According to the NY post, the flood of packages was traced back to a China-based Amazon seller named Liusandedian, which sells cheap car seat covers often returned by dissatisfied customers. Instead of following Amazon's return policy, the seller listed the woman's San Jose address as its US return location. Under Amazon's rules, international sellers must either provide a valid US return address, offer a prepaid shipping label, or issue a refund without needing the item back. By misusing her address, Liusandedian bypassed those obligations and flooded her property with junk products. Kay, the recipient, said she refused hundreds of packages, yet many still made it through. When she asked Amazon for help, they initially suggested she donate or dispose of the items herself, offering her just a $100 gift card for the inconvenience.

Jammu: Major Gen loses over Rs 2.2 crore to investment scam, Hyderabad firm booked, says police
The Jammu & Kashmir Crime Branch Sunday booked the managing director and several executives of a Hyderabad-based firm, Capital Protection Force Pvt Ltd, over a multi-crore investment app scam in which a serving Army Major General too lost over `2 crore. The case was registered following complaints from two people including the Army officer, who lost money investing through the 'Falcon Invoice Discounting app', an officer said. The firm's MD, Amardeep Kumar and directors Anita Kumari and Sandeep Kumar were named in the complaints. According to the FIR, Amardeep Kumar, an Indian national residing in Dubai, is the main accused in the multi-crore Ponzi-style fraud in which many Indian investors were affected. The Crime Branch said the company's officials fraudulently collected and misled investors with fabricated vendor profiles via social media promotions, fake deals and baseless claims of partnerships with reputed multinational companies. The first complainant, the Major General, had been duped of more than `2.21 crore. Repayment was promised but never made by the company. The complaint also said the company had closed operations without returning the amount.

Punjab: 2 men open fire at Hoshiarpur YouTuber's house, none hurt
Two unidentified bike-borne miscreants fired gunshots at the house of a social media influencer (YouTuber), Simran Sikand, alias Sam, in Model Town locality on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday. No one was injured in the incident. The assailants fled before a cop deployed in family's security could respond. Two used cartridges were recovered from the spot, sub-inspector (SI) Gursahib Singh from the Model Town police station said. Police at the spot where two unidentified bike-borne miscreants fired gunshots at the house of a social media influencer Simran Sikand's house in Hoshiarpur on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday. Sam said he heard the gunshot but mistook it for firecrackers before he was informed by his security guard. SI Gursahib Singh stated that a few months ago, Sikand commented on a religious post on social media, which allegedly led to an online argument with Shahzad Bhatti, a Pakistani national, and Dalbir Singh of Hoshiarpur. Sikand claimed that Bhatti threatened him with a grenade attack at his house, following which the YouTuber was provided police security. He revealed that several attempts have been made on him and his family in the recent past and that he had received a threat from Pakistan-based don Shahzad Bhatti in March. 'In a video call, Bhatti had told me that I was his target,' claimed Sam. Bhatti had taken the responsibility for a grenade attack at the house of Jalandhar-based YouTuber Rozar Sandhu and senior BJP leader Manoranjan Kalia earlier this year. Sam alleged that he had conveyed his security concerns to senior police officers many times but he was not provided proper security. 'One of the two security personnel deployed at my house is physically challenged and incapable of defending my family,' he added. An FIR under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Arms Act has been registered at the Model Town police station, said police, and further investigation is underway. Beed police help family reunite with son after 8 years
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: A sugarcane-cutting couple in Beed was reunited with their son after he had been missing for nearly eight years. The reunion took place on Friday at the office of Beed superintendent of police Navneet Kanwat. The son, now 24, had left home in Dec 2017 while in Std X, as he was upset with his academic struggles. At the time, his parents, originally from Khalwat Limgaon village, were working as seasonal workers in Karnataka. The boy had been staying with a teacher in Nalwandi village to continue his education. Since his parents are uneducated, they did not file a missing person's report until 2023. The case was later transferred to the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) and assigned to Pallavi Jadhav. Jadhav, along with the local crime branch led by Shriram Khatawkar, was able to trace the man and bring him back to his family within a month. "After taking charge of the unit around a couple of months back, I came across the case of the missing boy around a month back," Jadhav told reporters. "We first visited the school in which the teenager was studying. "The boy was apprehensive that his parents would scold him for dropping out and deserting them. However, the reactions of his parents when they met him were completely different as they could not hold their tears back while hugging their son," Jadhav said.
