"F1: The Movie" star Damson Idris could be the next Black Panther. That's the rumor Idris just added a lot of fuel to in an appearance on "Today". You can watch the video below.
Appearing on the show to promote "F1: The Movie", Idris was invited to play a game in which he was supposed to supply yes or no answers about his career. When co-anchor Craig Melvin asked him if he'd had any conversations about being cast as the next Black Panther, Idris groaned and answered "Yes-no!"

Craig responded with, "By the way, the yes-no means yes."

Craig retorted with "It probably means yes" and then asked Idris if he would play the Black Panther if asked.
To that, Idris replied with "Yes".
Rumors have been swirling around Idris replacing the late Chadwick Boseman as T'Challa/The Black Panther for the better part of 2025. As recounted by Entertainment Weekly, the InSneider Report was the first site to claim Marvel Studios was looking to recast T'Challa in spite of initially saying that would never happen.
In a since-deleted post, Idris would later sarcastically respond to a claim on X that he had turned down the role of Black Panther with, "Yes sir. I turned down 007, A co-lead film with Daniel Day Lewis and an Eddie Murphy biopic too."
Boseman originated the role of T'Challa in 2016's "Captain America: Civil War", and would go on to play the hero three more times, including in 2018's "Black Panther. He died of cancer in 2020 at the age of 43.
"Black Panther: Wakanda Forever" followed in 2022, with Marvel vowing not to recast the role of T'Challa. Instead, the film opens with the reveal that T'Challa has died. Eventually, his sister Shuri (Letitia Wright) takes over the role of Black Panther.
If Idris does wind up in "Black Panther 3", he could very well find himself working with Denzel Washington for the first time. Writer/Director Ryan Coogler recently confirmed not only that he wants Washington in the threequel, but that he's writing a part specifically for the Oscar-winner.
There's no word yet on who Washington might play in "Black Panther 3" or when the movie might hit theaters.

Pokémon GO's Future? Night Events and Country Specific Pokémon, Says Dev

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Entertainment gossip and news from Newsweek's network of contributors A senior developer at Pokémon GO has laid out the game's future - and it looks promising. According to senior product director Michael Sterenka, who spoke to Newsweek during Pokémon GO Fest 2025 in Paris over the June 13th-15th weekend, players can expect the introduction of special night events, as well as more Pokémon specific to certain countries. "I've always wanted to figure out what we can do for nighttime experience,' Sterenka said. Pokémon GO Fest 2025 happened in Paris from June 13–15, 2025 Pokémon GO Fest 2025 happened in Paris from June 13–15, 2025 Pokémon GO "There are definitely safety considerations in place for that. If you have your phone open and you're not really looking where you're going and it's dark outside, that could be a little bit tricky, but I've always felt like that was an area worth exploring for us and something I'd love to figure out in the future." Don't expect nighttime events anytime soon, though. Like anything implemented in Pokémon GO, developer Niantic wants to make sure everything is well and truly battle-tested before it's introduced to the smash hit mobile game, which has been running since 2016. "We don't have anything planned currently on that front, but if I could pick one thing to add to the event experience, that would be the thing that I would do." The second item on Sterenka's wishlist is even more ambitious: regional diversity that brings different experiences based on where you are in the world. For instance, if you play Pokémon GO in France, you'll be able to catch a greater range of different Pokémon than a player in, say, Brazil. This functionality is, to a lesser extent, already in the game. One Pokémon, Stonjourner, is a timed UK-exclusive. Comfey, meanwhile, currently only appears in Hawaii. But Sterenka is dreaming bigger than just Pokémon. "Pokémon GO being such a location-based game, we always want to build experiences that are authentic to the places that people play in. So we do that right now for broader campaigns or maybe country specific activations...I would love for something that actually has regional differences, and based on where you're playing, similar to how we lean into all the amazing features here at Parc de Sceaux." Some Pokémon you can catch during Pokémon GO Fest 2025 Some Pokémon you can catch during Pokémon GO Fest 2025 Pokémon GO Parc de Sceaux hosted Pokémon GO Fest 2025, and offered a preview of what might be coming down the line. The premier event in the Pokémon GO calendar offered numerous incentives for the thousands of players in attendance, including new missions, rare items, and previously hard-to-obtain Pokémon. There were also distinct habitats for players to explore. Each habitat housed its own set of field research tasks themed around the habitat they're linked to. The Moonless Volcano area, for example, featured fierce and fiery Pokémon like Numel and Houndoom, while the Hypnotic Tundra boasted Piplups and Spheals. On top of this, there were nine free daily raid passes, an increase from three hours to eight hours of party play, and surprise Pokémon that popped out while taking snapshots. It all seemed designed for one purpose: to get players out of the house and interacting with each other in the real world. A giant inflatable Pikachu dominates Pokémon GO Fest 2025 A giant inflatable Pikachu dominates Pokémon GO Fest 2025 Pokémon GO For Sterenka, that's exactly what makes the game so popular. "Pokemon GO is the most family friendly, accessible game in the world. And when you look around here, it's proof of that. You see people who you would probably never see together otherwise, all coming together to play this wonderful game that everybody loves." "We really try to encourage people to meet up in person and have these real-world social experiences. So it's really not like any other game out there, and in fact, a lot of people who play Pokémon GO don't consider themselves gamers, and this is more of sort of a lifestyle app that leverages the fun of catching Pokémon to really get people outside and enjoying the world around them." Pokémon GO Fest 2025 Ticket Price A ticket for Pokémon GO Fest 2025 costs $14.99/£14.99. You can buy tickets from the in-game shop and Pokémon GO web store. Buying your ticket in advance is recommended. Those who bought tickets before April 15th received a Skiddo encounter after completing the timed research. Buying from the web store got you three premium battle passes, five rare candies, and five max revives. Pokemon GO Fest 2025 Start Time: When Was GO Fest Global 2025? GO Fest 2025 ran from June 13–15, 2025. It started at 10am CET and ended at 6pm CET on both days. What is Pokémon GO? Pokémon GO is a free-to-play augmented reality mobile game originally released in 2016. Nurses ‘secretly keep a bad baby name book' to make fun of parents' bizarre choices: ‘Unhinged'

Name and shame. NICU nurse Victoria has seen a lot in her career — including bad baby names. One night, when she was 'bored,' she posted a TikTok video asking others in her line of work to share the strangest monikers they'd ever heard. 'And I'm not talking, like, Naveah. I'm talking so unhinged it would send the Social Security office into a coma,' she captioned the video. The nurse knew of babies named Dracula, Messiah, Bronze and Gold. But other professionals chimed in with even wilder monikers. 'Some of the names people commented were borderline unbelievable,' Victoria admitted to TODAY. According to Victoria's comments section, there are babies named Arealtruemiracle — all one word — Sheep, Narwhal, Phelony and Blessica. Another nurse claimed to have had a child named Lucifer in her care at the same time a baby named Messiah was in the ward. There were also some interesting twin pairings. For example, Brock Lee and Callie Flower, Abracadabra and Alacazam, and Canon and Crystal Ball. Looking at triplets, one person claimed to know a threesome named Lincoln, Mercedes and Bentley. Meanwhile, another chimed in saying they knew of a new mom and dad who got very flavorful with their name choice — especially the ones who named their child Frijoles Guacamole. 'On my life not joking. We secretly keep a bad baby name book to remind us of all the crazy first and middle names,' the nurse, who met the child with the delicious name, declared. One can only hope most of these are jokes waiting to be used in a prank call. Unlike countries like Iceland, which requires names to be pre-approved or New Zealand, which bans names like 'Justice' and '4Real,' the United States is basically the Wild West of baby naming. However, some states have banned certain wonky monikers. cites 11 names that have been made illegal by the courts, including King, Queen, Jesus Christ, III and Santa Claus. Fortunately, for the children of America, these wild names are still rare. The classic Liam and Olivia were announced as the top baby names for 2024 — the sixth year in a row.

Kelly Ripa says Mark Consuelos' diet is ‘way too disciplined' — but it left her ‘super fit' when she tried it

Kelly Ripa says her husband, Mark Consuelos, is pretty tight. Too tight — but, then, so was her Oscars gown. 'So right before the Academy Awards, I was having trouble getting my dress zipped up the side. It was a side-zip dress, and I kept getting zipped into the dress,' Ripa, 54, confessed on a recent episode of 'Live with Kelly and Mark.' 3 Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos at the Oscars on Sunday, March 2, 2025. Disney via Getty Images Needing results fast, she turned to her hubby's super strict, super high protein diet for three days and — lo and behold — the zipper slid like a kid on a waterslide. 'I don't love it, but I ate exactly how you told me to eat, and that dress zipped right up, no side skin,' she told Consuelos, also 54. 'And I looked super fit. Super, super fit. So thank you for that.' That being said, she made it pretty clear his regimen wasn't her everyday jam. 'It's the only time I've listened to Mark about my diet because I typically don't like to do what you're doing,' she said. 'I just find, you're like, way too disciplined. I can't live that way. But for 72 hours, I can live like Mark Consuelos so I lived like Mark Consuelos for 72 hours.' 3 'I don't love it, but I ate exactly how you told me to eat, and that dress zipped right up, no side skin,' she said. ABC So, what did this miracle diet entail? According to Ripa, it was plenty of yogurt, veggies and steak — much to the talk show host's dismay, as she admitted that she's 'not big on animal protein.' Consuelos said the diet is 'the craze now,' possibly alluding to the popularity of the carnivore diet, which is being touted as a game changer for the gut by wellness influencers and celebs like Jenny McCarthy. However, it's worth noting that experts have expressed concerns about the potential health risks of this trendy meal plan, citing an increased risk of kidney stones, LDL cholesterol, heart disease, colon cancer, digestive issues and nutritional deficiencies as potential side effects. 3 'It's the only time I've listened to Mark about my diet because I typically don't like to do what you're doing,' she said. 2003 RAMEY PHOTO 310-828-3445/L 'There are significant long-term risks with following the carnivore diet,' Dr. Joseph Antoun, CEO of the longevity company L-Nutra, previously told The Post, arguing for a 'well-balanced, plant-forward approach' that is 'rich in complex carbs, plant-based/fish-based proteins and healthy fats from nuts and seeds' instead. Consuelos himself cautioned that it's crucial to increase your fiber intake when following a high-protein diet, especially if you're doing it as a lifestyle choice and not a 72-hour stint. 'It's really, really important. 'Recommended 25 grams of fiber per day for women, 38 grams for men.' So it's crucial for 'maintaining a healthy gut microbiome and may lower the rates of chronic disease such as diabetes,' he said. Of course, it helps to have a live-in expert, as it sounds like Ripa didn't even know what she was eating most of the time. 'You were there, you were managing my diet,' she told her husband on the episode. 'I'm like, 'I don't know, I ate whatever you told me to eat.' Literally, if he was like, 'Eat this,' I ate it. And it was great for the 72 hours I had to suffer through it. But they're talking about daily life every day, if you're having a high protein diet…' '…Make sure you take your fiber,' he said.
