How to watch Panchayat Season 4 for free in the US without breaking the law, your complete guide

Mint5 hours ago

Panchayat, one of the most-loved India-based web series is back with a bang. The fourth season of Panchayat has now been released on Amazon Prime Video, the only streaming platform for this popular web series. But will you be able to watch Panchayat in the US?
Panchayat is a beloved Indian comedy-drama that follows engineer Abhishek Tripathi (Jitendra Kumar) as he navigates life as a secretary in the fictional village Phulera, blending humor with poignant social commentary. Season 4 centers on a heated panchayat election between Manju Devi (Neena Gupta) and Kranti Devi, escalating village tensions while retaining its heartwarming charm. For US viewers, Amazon Prime Video is the only legal platform streaming the series. Support the creators ethically by using the free trial, and enjoy Phulera's chaos in 4K without risking security or breaking laws.
The simplest way to watch Panchayat Season 4 for free in the US is through Amazon Prime Video's 30-day free trial. The entire season, 8 episodes in 4K quality with English subtitles, is exclusively available on the platform.
New users can sign up for the trial, binge all episodes, and cancel before charges apply (regular subscription: $8.99/month post-trial). To maximize the trial, download episodes for offline viewing via the Prime Video app, ideal for avoiding connectivity issues or saving data. Note that the ad-supported tier (Prime Video with Ads) does not offer free trials, so opt for the standard trial for uninterrupted streaming. Episodes release at 8:00 PM ET (5:30 AM IST the next day), perfect for late-night binge-watching.
While Indian viewers access free Amazon Prime via telecom bundles (e.g., Airtel's ₹ 1,199 plan, Jio's ₹ 1,029 pack, or Vi's ₹ 3,799 recharge), these are geo-restricted and unusable in the US. Some users attempt VPNs to mimic Indian locations, but this violates Amazon's terms and risks account suspension. Piracy sites illegally upload episodes but offer poor quality, malware risks, and violate India's Copyright Act (penalties include fines/jail time).
For US fans, the only safe option remains the Prime free trial. Alternatively, split costs with friends via Prime's "Watch Party" feature (If available) or use limited-time promotions like student discounts (if eligible).

Zohran Mamdani a step closer to being NYC's 1st South Asian mayor

'It always seems impossible until it's done. My friends, it is done,' quoting Nelson Mandela, Zohran Mamdani announced his victory on Tuesday late evening as the Democratic nominee for the post of Mayor of New York City. The 33-year-old Indian-American, mounting a Bollywood-style campaign, full of references to 'Roti, Kapda aur Makaan', had his opponent, Andrew Cuomo conceding to him within hours of the polls for the Mayoral primary closing. If elected in November this year, Mamdani — the son of filmmaker Mira Nair and academic Mahmood Mamdani — would be the city's first Muslim and Indian-American Mayor. Born in Uganda's Kampala and raised in New York, Zohran may not be a stranger to political activism, but still has a long way to go before securing an electoral victory after defeating the Republican candidate. Launching an energetic campaign late last year, the relatively unknown legislator had his army of young volunteers knocking on doors throughout the city, seeking support and donations. They also made sure his vision reached the masses in a city grappling with a high cost of living and housing crisis – free buses and childcare, new apartments, higher wages and more taxing the rich. With the background score from Bollywood film 'Om Shanti Om' playing, in one of the campaign videos 'Zohran for New York City', Mamdani addressed his constituency in Hindi about making him the city's first South Asian mayor, 'Baat yeh nahi hai main kya banunga, baat yeh hai ki main kya karunga (It doesn't matter what I will become, but it matters what I will do).' Explaining the voting process using the example of five mango-lassi glasses representing five candidates, he took a potshot at Cuomo using a clip from Amitabh Bachchan starrer Zanjeer, 'Aaj mere paas bangla hai, bank balance hai, building hai..,' urging his voters (bhaiyon aur behenon) to choose wisely and not rank billionaires like Cuomo. During a television debate when Cuomo remarked that Mamdani couldn't be relied upon to go toe-to-toe with (President Donald) Trump, Mamdani had a counter ready. 'Mr Cuomo, I have never had to resign in disgrace,' he said to Como, who resigned in 2021 as the city's mayor after a report concluded that he had sexually harassed at least 11 women. No wonder he secured endorsements from two of the United States' foremost progressives — Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Senator Bernie Sanders. Earlier this year, Zohran married 27-year-old Rama Duwaji, a Syrian-born illustrator and visual artist based in Brooklyn, whose work explores the themes of identity and migration. The couple met on a dating app, and got engaged in Dubai in 2024, where Duwaji's family lives. 'Yun Hi Chala Chal': Swades song soothes Shubhanshu Shukla nerves before lift-off; Lucknow boy takes mango nectar, sweets to space

'Yun Hi Chala Chal Raahi, Kitni Haseen Hai Yeh Duniya...' That philosophical road song from Shahrukh Khan-starrer 'Swades' is what Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla listened to before heading to the launchpad at Kennedy Space Center in Florida for the lift-off on Wednesday. There is an old tradition at Nasa that when astronauts say goodbye to their families and drive towards the launchpad, they listen to their choice of music. The music soothes the nerves of the astronauts and helps them relax in order to focus on the lift-off. The ode-to-life song in the Ashutosh Gowarikar film that Shukla chose, coincidentally, centres around a Nasa scientist. The music playlist also had tracks curated by the rest of the crew: Commander Peggy Whitson (US) picked 'Thunder' by Imagine Dragons, Slawosz Uznanski-Wisniewski (Poland) went with 'Supermonce', a Polish track, and Tibor Kapu (Hungary) listed 'Bvhely', a traditional Hungarian song, as per a post by Axiom Space on X. The boy from Lucknow, which is famous for its varieties of mango, is carrying mango nectar with him to ISS. While astronauts are usually advised to travel light, Shukla is also carrying some mouth-watering Indian sweets — gajar (carrot) ka halwa, and moong dal halwa — with him to satiate his cravings for home-made food in space. After the 1999 Kargil War, Lucknow boy Shubhanshu Shukla was inspired to join the IAF. So, he applied for the National Defence Academy (NDA) exam and cleared it. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 40세 넘고 PC만 있으면? 이 게임 완전 내 거임! He was then selected for the flying branch and underwent training at the IAF Academy. In June 2006, he was commissioned into the fighter stream of IAF as a flying officer. Shukla logged over 2,000 flying hours across a range of aircraft, including the Su-30 MKI, MiG-21, MiG-29, Jaguar, Hawk, Dornier 228, and An-32. Selected in 2019 for Isro's Gaganyaan mission, Shukla, along with three other selected Indian astronauts, went to Russia in 2020 for basic training at Yuri Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center. After completing basic training in 2021, Shukla and others returned to India and attended training at Astronaut Training Facility in Bengaluru. During that time, he completed his Master of Technology degree in aerospace engineering from IISc Bangalore. Shukla's name as a member of the Gaganyaan team was officially announced on Feb 27, 2024, when PM Narendra Modi announced the names of the astronaut-designates for India's first human space mission at Isro's Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre in Thiruvananthapuram. Last year, he was chosen to pilot the Axiom mission 4 to ISS, becoming the first Indian astronaut to do so.
