Samsung to launch its first triple foldable in a few months and this is how much it may cost

Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2025, set to take place on July 9, is confirmed to unveil the upcoming foldables. Unlike the usual lineup, this year, Samsung has more surprises to showcase. The rumour has it that the lineup will include four foldables, including a triple foldable device. So far, the company has teased its Galaxy Z Fold 7, but now we have a few more details around the upcoming triple foldable. advertisementSamsung's triple foldable price leak According to a report out of South Korea, the upcoming device is tipped to arrive with a sky-high price, an expansive screen, and top-tier hardware, including a next-generation processor. It's expected to retail for approximately $3,000 (around Rs 2,56,500) locally, nearly twice the price of the Galaxy Z Fold 6. Availability, however, may be limited to just the South Korean and Chinese markets. Samsung's triple fold design leakAccording to the Android Authority, sketches and an accompanying animated video have surfaced, offering a peek into this upcoming device, the triple foldable. However, these are merely conceptual drawings extracted from animation files within the latest One UI 8 update—no official renders or real-world images just yet. What stands out is the unique dual-hinge mechanism, folding inward on both sides. This results in a G-shaped configuration, setting it apart from Huawei's Mate XT, which employs an S-shaped fold and holds the title of the world's first tri-fold has it that the device could launch under the name Galaxy G Fold. While the leaked footage doesn't show the device in motion or folding, it does reveal both the front and back when the phone is fully Samsung's tri-fold is tipped to feature a sizeable 10-inch display, putting it in direct competition with Huawei's 10.2-inch offering. As for performance, Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset is expected to power the device—hardly a surprising choice for a premium foldable of this triple foldable battery leakAnother development surrounding Samsung's upcoming tri-fold smartphone comes from China's 3C certification database, where a device bearing the model number SM-F9680, widely believed to be the Galaxy G Fold, has made an appearance. The listing confirms support for 25W wired charging via Samsung's long-standing EP-TA800 modest charging speed is already drawing comparisons. Huawei's rival tri-fold, the Mate XT Ultimate, supports a far speedier 66W fast charging, and even Samsung's own mid-range Galaxy A56 boasts 45W. By contrast, the Galaxy G Fold appears to retain the same 25W ceiling found on its predecessors, including the yet-to-launch Z Fold the tri-fold's larger display and more complex internal architecture, such conservative charging speeds may impact real-world usability—particularly for users expecting flagship-grade endurance and swift top-ups. While Samsung has long taken a cautious approach to fast charging, prioritising battery health over speed, that philosophy might feel out of step in 2025, as consumer expectations continue to evolve. - Ends
