Enoc Group, RTA collaborate for use of green hydrogen in mobility

In a move to drive the Dubai Green Mobility Strategy 2030 and support the development of the UAE's green hydrogen economy, Enoc Group, a leading integrated global energy player, and Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) have signed a trial agreement to explore the feasibility of green hydrogen-powered mobility solutions in the emirate of Dubai. This landmark collaboration marks a significant step forward in the country's hydrogen journey, building upon Enoc Group's successful commissioning of its green hydrogen station at Expo City Dubai during COP28.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), signed at Enoc Group Headquarters by Burhan Al Hashemi, Managing Director, Enoc Commercial and International Sales, and Ahmed Hashem Bahrozyan, Chief Executive Officer of The Public Transport Agency (PTA) at RTA, and witnessed by His Excellency Saif Humaid Al Falasi, Group CEO, Enoc, will see both Enoc Group and RTA cooperating in a study to develop the use of green hydrogen in mobility.
Under the agreement, Enoc Group will supply green hydrogen fuel to RTA's hydrogen-powered city buses. Enoc will also provide technical support and data on green hydrogen refuelling to assist RTA in conducting a comprehensive feasibility study. Both parties are committed to upholding the highest safety and operational standards throughout the project.

For his part, Ahmed Bahrozyan, CEO of Public Transport Agency at RTA, praised the agreement, considering it an important step towards expanding cooperation between RTA and Enoc Group in the field of using green hydrogen to operate RTA's transportation means, including public buses and marine transport to make them more sustainable and environmentally friendly, in line with the UAE's directions and plans in the domains of green economy and environmental sustainability and their impact on the health and happiness of the population.
'We, at RTA, sincerely appreciate Enoc Group's ongoing collaboration in delivering sustainable energy solutions for public transport, including buses and marine services, which clearly embodies the strategic cooperation between the government and semi-government sectors and the contribution of both parties to achieving the ambitious goals and objectives of our wise leadership,' said Bahrozyan.
Green hydrogen, produced by the electrolysis of water using renewable electricity such as solar and wind, emits zero carbon dioxide (CO2) during the production process. In addition to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and diversifying energy sources, green hydrogen increases the driving range of vehicles. Therefore, it is one of the cleanest forms of energy with zero emission. It is worth mentioning that Enoc Group is sourcing green hydrogen from Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park in association with DEWA.

Meanwhile, As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility strategy, and its ongoing commitment to the values of giving, Enoc Group, in collaboration with Beit Al Khair Society, host a Ramadan iftar tent in Al Jaddaf, near Sultan Rashid Bin Qaba Mosque. Operating daily the tent will provide around 450 Iftar meals per day, with a target of serving over 13,000 meals throughout the holy month.
With a capacity of 500 people, the 500 sqm tent will focus on providing a welcoming and nourishing Iftar experience. The initiative is part of Enoc's Ramadan community outreach and aligns with the UAE's 'Year of Community' goals, emphasizing the importance of social responsibility to foster a united and empowered community.
Commenting on the initiative, Saif Humaid Al Falasi, Group CEO, Enoc, said: 'We are pleased to launch the Ramadan Iftar Tent in the Al Jaddaf area, in partnership with Beit Al Khair Society, as a step that reaffirms our deep commitment to the values of generosity and social solidarity during the holy month.'

Dubai traffic to ease: RTA begins road improvements at 40 key locations for summer 2025
Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority has begun traffic improvements at 40 locations across the emirate, with work scheduled between June and September 2025. The programme covers 22 streets, 9 school zones, more than 5 development areas, and internal roads in Tolerance District, Al Khawaneej 2, and Nad Al Sheba. RTA has timed the work during summer holidays to reduce disruption to traffic flow whilst maintaining safety standards at all sites. The next phase includes traffic enhancements at Jumeirah Village Circle towards Hessa Street, Ras Al Khor Road, Al Thanya Street, and King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Street. Work will also take place on Al Meydan Street, Al Sa'ada Street, Al Asayel Street, and the junction of Al Wasl Street with Al Manara Street. RTA is undertaking roadworks at nine school zone locations to improve traffic efficiency and road safety around educational institutions. The work includes upgrades at the Al Warqa 1 school complex and construction of a bus entrance at GEMS School in Al Warqa 3. Access and exit points around The English College in Al Safa 1 on Sheikh Zayed Road will be widened, and a signal-controlled pedestrian crossing will be installed on Al Seedaf Street in Al Barsha 1. These measures target congestion during morning and afternoon peak hours. RTA is implementing traffic solutions at five development zones in response to population growth and economic expansion. The authority will construct a direct access route to Al Muhaisnah labour camps from Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road and upgrade Al Mustaqbal Street (Brookfield) for access to residential communities. Connectivity between Al Khail Road and Al Asayel Street via Al Marabea' Street will be improved, along with enhancements at Nad Al Hamar junction near Lootah Mosque. New parking facilities will serve Zayed Educational Complex in Oud Al Muteena 1. RTA will complete internal roadworks in Tolerance District, Al Khawaneej 2, Jebel Ali Industrial 1, Nad Al Sheba, and Al Warqa.

Dubai's RTA begins major roadworks project to run through the summer
The transport authority in Dubai has begun work to improve traffic in the emirate at 40 locations over the summer period. The first phase of the work will cover 22 major streets, nine school zones, more than five development areas, and several internal roads in the Tolerance District, Al Khawaneej 2 and Nad Al Sheba, stated the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). The roadworks will be carried out to 'minimise disruption to daily traffic flow', the RTA said in a statement released on Sunday. The next phase will include traffic enhancements at locations such as Jumeirah Village Circle towards Hessa Street, Ras Al Khor Road, Al Thanya Street, and King Salmanbin Abdulaziz Al Saud Street. Additional improvements are to be made to Al Meydan Street, Al Sa'ada Street, Al Asayel Street, and the junction of Al Wasl Street with Al Manara Street. Watch: Sheikh Hamdan rides abra on Eid Al Adha weekend
It's not every day that you see a member of the Dubai royal family aboard a public transport. As the city continues to celebrate the Eid Al Adha long weekend, Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum surprised followers by taking a ride on an abra and sharing a glimpse of it with his followers on social media. Sheikh Hamdan, popularly known as Fazza, posted a video of his abra ride on his Instagram story, much to the delight of his 17 million followers. He seemed to be traveling across the Dubai creek to the Al Seef market in the abra, one of the oldest forms of transport in the city. He also shared visuals of spices and traditional food items being sold at the market in old Dubai. The Deputy Prime Minister of the UAE often regales his followers on social media with snapshots from his life. He has been sharing snippets from his Eid Al Adha celebrations with his family, especially his kids.
