Erin Andrews Reveals Her Surrogate Had a Miscarriage With Baby No. 2: It ‘Really Sucks'
Erin Andrews shared the heartbreaking news that her surrogate had a miscarriage as the sportscaster and her husband, Jarret Stoll, were expecting baby No. 2.
'We got some real s--tty news today that our surrogate had miscarried," Erin, 47, told cohost Charissa Thompson on the Thursday, May 22, episode of their podcast "Calm Down with Erin and Charissa."
The NFL sideline reporter revealed she and Jarret, 42, had been expecting a baby girl.
"So, I have dealt with this before, but things were going really, really well. And her little heartbeat and her numbers were really good — so much so I even told you guys a couple weeks ago because we thought we had such good news,' Erin continued, revealing she had told Charissa, 43, and podcast producer Ryan Musick, even though she hadn't made the pregnancy news public yet.
"But Ryan, you did such a bang-up job with this podcast today. I've been trying really hard to pay attention, I've just been tearing up the whole time and trying to stay focused," she told her colleague. "But I'm also really, really good at suppressing my feelings and work really helps me with that."
Since the miscarriage news was still so fresh, Erin revealed that Ryan offered to push back the podcast taping to let her deal with the grief, but she decided to push forward.
"Been sitting here thinking about Taylor Swift's song, 'I Can Do It with a Broken Heart.' I'm really good at doing this s--t with a broken heart," the fan of the pop superstar confessed.
The 2025 Super Bowl reporter discussed how the surrogate she and Jarret used to welcome son Mack, 23 months, in June 2023, also suffered a pregnancy loss. Erin previously shared how the couple had been expecting twins at the time.
"But I think I kinda made a promise to myself that when I was really open with how s--tty infertility has been and our journey with two surrogates, because we did lose … we had loss with our first surrogate and then luckily with our second one, we had Mack, that I was just going to be honest with people," Erin said of sharing the news about her latest loss.
The Lewiston, Maine, native has been open about her infertility struggles in the past, revealing how she went through nine rounds of IVF before turning to surrogacy.
"But like I said, when I was first dealing with all these infertility issues and loss that I just wanted to let other people know that we're dealing with them that I get it and I understand. And I'm going to do that again," she explained. "This really, really sucks, but so many people are dealing with it, so if you feel alone and you feel like a failure, I do too. But you're not the only one."
"I just wanted to be open with people and be like, 'This sucks.' And today, this really does. It makes you really realize when I have my little boy, and today, he was throwing a fit royale with us, it's like, you know what? It doesn't matter," Erin shared.
"We'll be good. I was saying to Jarret today ... this is like the hardest part," she added. "But I just didn't want to be back here in the loss column."
Erin and Jarret married in June 2017 after nearly five years of dating. The retired NHL player was by her side as she successfully battled cervical cancer in 2016. Erin froze her embryos for future use prior to undergoing two surgeries and was declared cancer-free in November 2016.

Patrick Mahomes' Wordless Reaction to Chiefs' New Post
Patrick Mahomes' Wordless Reaction to Chiefs' New Post originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Kansas City Chiefs have officially kicked off their preparations for the upcoming season. This team is on a mission after being denied a place in history by the Philadelphia Eagles back in February. Instead of celebrating what would have been an unprecedented Super Bowl three-peat, the Chiefs were forced to deal with the heartbreak of their 40-22 loss to the Eagles in the big game. Advertisement On Monday, the Chiefs held the first day of their second Organized Team Activities (OTAs) session in their practice facility. Star quarterback Patrick Mahomes took part in the voluntary session, and the two-time All-Pro QB even took the time to share the Chiefs' post from Monday's practice. Mahomes did not have any caption for his post, though, instead opting to share a photo of himself from the OTAs via his Instagram stories. Mahomes' attendance in Monday's OTAs follows an appearance in the "Big Slick Celebrity Weekend" charity event, which was for the benefit of Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City. Advertisement Travis Kelce also took part in the event alongside Mahomes, but it is worth noting that the Chiefs' star tight end was nowhere to be found in Monday's practice session. Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and tight end Travis Kelce after the 2025 AFC Championship Greene/The Enquirer / USA TODAY NETWORK via Imagn Images Fans could not help but react to Kelce's absence in the OTAs, but there is a chance that the 10-time Pro Bowler joins Mahomes and Co. in the voluntary practice on Tuesday or Wednesday. For what it's worth, both Mahomes and Kelce were in attendance for the Chiefs' OTAs last week. Falcons Beat Writer Throws Unprovoked Jab At Former Running Back
Falcons Beat Writer Throws Unprovoked Jab At Former Running Back originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Atlanta Journal-Constitution writer D. Orlando Ledbetter had a bit of an unprovoked jab ready to fire off at former Atlanta Falcons running back Devonta Freeman, and let it fly. Advertisement Freeman tweeted, "The Atlanta Falcons didn't want me to be a starter, but I took that (Expletive). In response, Ledbetter would say, "Warrick Dunn would have made that block in the Super Bowl!" Freeman's post itself wasn't about anything in particular, just a statement. The play that Ledbetter is referring to was in Super Bowl LI against the New England Patriots. Freeman failed to pick up a block from Patriots linebacker Dont'a Hightower on a third-and-one. Hightower would strip-sack Matt Ryan, and New England recovered the fumble with just over eight minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, up by 16 points. Falcons QB Matt Ryan hands the ball off to RB Devonta Freeman against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The play can be argued until you're blue in the face, but no one knows if the Patriots would still score two touchdowns if the Falcons were to punt or score. Momentum was already swinging in New England's favor. Advertisement After the missed block, Freeman's career ran out of steam, even though he would rush for 865 yards the following season for Atlanta. Fans continued to criticize and pick due to the bitterness surrounding the play, as Freeman was not even able to chip Hightower on the play. Freeman would never get back into the good graces of Falcons fans because he would sign with the New Orleans Saints later on. In all honesty, this shouldn't have an effect on what he did on the football field. After all, Warrick Dunn spent the first half of his career with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but fans turned a blind eye because it was before his time with Atlanta and not afterwards. The Falcons inducted Devonta Freeman into the team's ring of honor in 2017, but maybe, just maybe, if he had made that block, his name would be closer to a Super Bowl banner as well.
