Rebecca Lobo Sends Clear Message on Fever Needing to Panic Amid Caitlin Clark Injury originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
With a fully revamped roster comprising multiple WNBA champions and WNBA All-Stars to support Caitlin Clark, the hope from Indiana Fever fans was that the team would get off to a hot start en route to a title push.

Although it's far too early to determine the team's fate and if they will contend, it isn't too premature to say that their start to the season hasn't gone as planned.
The Fever head into Tuesday's WNBA Commissioner's Cup game against the Washington Mystics with a 2-4 record and losses in three previous games. In addition to the losses, they have also been without Clark for the past two games, as she's dealing with a left quadriceps injury that will keep her out for multiple weeks when all is said and done.
While to some fans it may feel like the sky is falling and that the team needs to hit the panic button, WNBA legend and Basketball Hall of Fame member Rebecca Lobo revealed that there's no need to panic while appearing on "SportsCenter."

"I'm sure Fever fans were expecting a very different start, but they should not be worried, I don't think at all," Lobo said. "Remember, two of the three games they lost were with Caitlin Clark. It was by a combined three points. One of those games was to the New York Liberty.

"This is a team that is based around what Caitlin Clark does so well," Lobo added. "They got rim runners this year. She's one of the best advanced passers in the WNBA. Well, when she's not playing, that's going to look different."
Aside from losing the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year for a couple of weeks, the Fever also saw both Sophie Cunningham (ankle) and Sydney Colson (leg) go down with injuries in the team's Friday loss to the Connecticut Sun.
The team has a new head coach and a slew of new players who are still learning to play together. When Clark returns, it should help ease tensions, but the team will also have to work out kinks.

Magic Reportedly Open to Making Major Move By Trading Two Players in Offseason
Magic Reportedly Open to Making Major Move By Trading Two Players in Offseason originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Orlando Magic are one of the NBA's youngest and most exciting teams in the league. Advertisement They have made the playoffs in consecutive seasons for the first time since the 2019 and 2020 seasons. With a core of Paolo Banchero, Franz Wagner, and Jalen Suggs, it's clear the future is bright. Orlando lost in seven games to the Cleveland Cavaliers a season ago and were sent home by the Boston Celtics in five games about six weeks ago. Despite their improvement over the last two seasons, expectations are growing and there's potential for major moves regarding the roster ahead of next season. The team clearly lacks perimeter shooting, ranking dead last in the league during 2024-2025, hitting just 31.5% of their three pointers. So, finding consistent shooting is step one. With Banchero and Wagner leading the show, the Magic excelled at scoring inside the paint, as well as earning free throws. If you pair that young duo with more spacing, it will make their lives much easier. Advertisement On top of shooting, they could also use a couple of well established veterans, but it might be at the expense of some of their youth. According to Kevin O'Connor, Orlando is open to potentially packaging players like Cole Anthony and Jonathan Isaac to acquire rotational upgrades. Injuries derailed this past season, with Banchero and Wagner each missing chunks of the season due to suffering torn obliques. Backup center Mo Wagner tore his ACL last December, causing him to miss the majority of the season and Jalen Suggs underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left knee in early March, which ended his year. Advertisement A healthy Orlando squad will make a huge difference next season and if they can bring in any established high-level role players, they will be a force in the Eastern conference in the near future. Cleveland Browns 'Formula' is Defense in 2025
Cleveland Browns 'Formula' is Defense in 2025 originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Cleveland Browns are hoping to recover from an abysmal 3-14 mark last season, where not much went right on either offense or defense. Advertisement The team is hosting a quarterback room with two veterans and two rookie draft picks, and one of them will look to be the savior of the offense this season. But it could be the defense that saves the 2025 campaign for the Browns. SI's Albert Breer discussed Cleveland's upcoming season and what would have to happen for things to go right, and to maybe even post a winning record. First, he mentioned the obstacles. "[The Browns] need a lot of things to break right. They're in a tough division, obviously," Breer said on the MMQB Podcast. "I think we're going to have high expectations for the other three teams. ... By virtue of being in that division, their schedule is not easy. ... They could be staring down the barrel of 0-6 here." Advertisement Then the job that general manager Andrew Berry has done comes into question, but if they win, he should get credit. "Andrew Berry has really come under the microscope there, and there are some people who feel like he should be on the hot seat," Breer continued. "... I think if they are to get to nine or 10 wins, it's going to be because Andrew Berry did a great job drafting and putting players on the roster." If the Browns are to win, Breer says it will be thanks to the defense. It could be the key to a winning "formula." "If you look at the makeup of the roster, there are so many areas where they need to have gotten it right. ... There's a formula here if some of those things pan out," Breer said. "Play really good defense, have a kickass running game. Advertisement "The formula here is to shorten games and lean on your defense ... that's the formula." DK Metcalf Turning Heads During First Day of Steelers Practice
DK Metcalf Turning Heads During First Day of Steelers Practice originally appeared on Athlon Sports. One of the biggest moves the Pittsburgh Steelers made this offseason was trading for Seattle Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf and then signing him to a four-year, $132 million contract with $60 million guaranteed. Advertisement After six years with the Seahawks, accumulating 438 receptions, 6,324 yards and 48 touchdowns on 726 targets, there's hope he can come in and be a big boost to the team's offense in 2025. Of course, after they also signed quarterback Aaron Rodgers to a one-year, $13.6 million deal and traded wide receiver George Pickens to the Dallas Cowboys, it's sure to be an interesting season. Now, though, it's time to get to work, and on Tuesday, the team posted a video of Metcalf at Pittsburgh's mandatory minicamp, which was also the first time he'd suited up for them after skipping OTAs (May 27 to June 5) The video has quickly caught the attention of many Steelers fans, who have been revealing both their high hopes for the upcoming season and their excitement to see the new wide receiver in action. Advertisement "They might actually win something this year," one said. "DK Metcalf is really a steeler. Who has it better than us?" Another said. "We're going to the Super Bowl," a third added. "Perfect throw perfect catch woooof LFG," a fourth said. 'DK's not a hands catcher,' they said. Interesting," a fifth continued. "WE ARE BACK LIKE WE BEVER BEEN BACK," another said.
