Paisley brewery to host new beer festival
A popular Brewery is hosting an epic free event for Paisley Buddies where national and European beers will be on offer.
Two Towns Down, located on Sneddon Street, has announced their Guest Fest weekend, where several beers and kegs will be lined up for people to try.
And, in a major first for the brewery, the event will mark the cask ale debut of two much-loved Two Towns Down beers; These Streets and The Day We Caught The Train.
Paisley's first brewery in over 125 years will also unveil several new brews on keg, including:
● A Tribe Called Toa – a New Zealand-style pale ale brewed with Kohatu, Moutere and Nelson Sauvin
● Watermelon Sugar – a sweet and juicy summer sour
● Ice Cream Van: Raspberry Ripple – a creamy, ripe raspberry sour
● Peacock Suit – a peachy NEIPA designed to be light and fruity
Entry is free, and no tickets are required. The event will run during normal taproom hours - from 4pm on Friday, July 18, and 2pm on Saturday, July 19, with dogs also welcome to join in on the fun.
A spokesperson for the Paisley business said: 'This informal weekender brings together an exciting lineup of around 15 guest beers on draught, alongside Two Towns Down's own new and classic brews.
'The event will feature breweries from across the UK and Europe, including standout names like Dookit, Mains, Holy Goat, De Molen, UpFront, Brew Toon, and many more.
'Styles will range from crisp lagers to bold stouts, fruity sours, and hoppy pale ales, ensuring something for every palate.'
Founded in 2019 and family-owned and operated, the Paisley brewery has gone from strength to strength, evolving from a small local operation into one of the most exciting names on the Scottish craft beer scene.
Known for its balanced, flavour-forward beers and no-nonsense approach to brewing, the brewery has received multiple awards and accolades in just a few short years.
Previously, the Paisley Daily Express told of how founder Sandy McKelvie turned to Renfrewshire Business Gateway in order to realise his ambitions to expand the enterprise and recently took on his neighbouring building.
The spokesperson continued by saying: 'Guest Fest promises a weekend of brilliant beer, friendly faces, and laid-back vibes within stoating distance of Gilmour Street Station.
'Whether you're a cask aficionado, a craft keg connoisseur, or just curious to try something new, Two Towns Down invites you to come and enjoy the best of both worlds.'

Pride Rock will tower 37 metres into the sky, acting as a "gateway" to an "adventure-filled water attraction", according to Disneyland Paris News, that appears to be a log flume that descends from 16 metres. The ride will allow guests to follow Simba on his journey from cubhood to king, similar to the film's story, which will also celebrate its 30th anniversary this year. And inside Pride Rock, guests will be able to explore a number of caves featuring iconic scenes and songs from the 1994 animated movie, reports The Daily Mail. The main building, which will also be in Pride Rock, will sprawl across 13,755 square metres, making it the biggest show building at the resort. In addition to the main ride, the land will have an outdoor character meet-and-greet area so fans can snap a picture with Simba, Pumbaa and Timon, alongside other characters from the film. Blueprints circulating on several blogs and social media reveal that the land will span across 30,000 square metres, with paths made of patterned concrete, rock sculptures and sloped plant beds to evoke the savanna. According to Disneyland Paris News, the area will also feature audio-animatronic technology - robots with sound to create lifelike, moving characters. The land will be the park's first-ever immersive area dedicated to the movie, with construction rumoured to begin in autumn of this year. Disney Music Festival And in relation to the rest of the park, it will be located next to the Avengers Campus, with its main entrance on Adventure Bay. Michel Den Dulk, portfolio creative director at Walt Disney Imagineering Paris, said: "Our goal as Imagineers is to translate the emotional core of the film into this exciting project and have you relive that feeling all over again as you experience this unique attraction," reports Disneyland Paris News. Natacha Rafalski, présidente of Disneyland Paris added: "This new area, which is inspired by the unforgettable story that has enchanted several generations of viewers, exists nowhere else in the world. Guests will be able to meet iconic characters from the film, such as Olaf, Elsa and Anna, in the Kingdom of Arendelle. There will also be themed dining experiences and shops, as well as a new nighttime water show with lights and fireworks, on Adventure Bay's central lake. Construction has already started on The World of Frozen, which includes Elsa's palace on the North Mountain. The Treforest-born singer will be bringing his Defy Explanation tour to the Welsh capital this week, with the first outdoor gig taking place on Wednesday evening, August 20, and the second one the following evening on Thursday, August 21. On Instagram, the legendary singer shared a simple message to his fans. With a collage of photos of the singer performing, he captioned the photo on his Instagram story with "onwards to Cardiff", accompanied by three Welsh flag emojis. After a concerning wave of illness in July, followed by a short recovery, the performer will once again be returning to the stage. Sir Tom will be headlining Cardiff Castle for two nights, with R&B soul band Stone Foundation also joining the singer as his support act for both evenings, as he concludes his European tour.
